The Location Choice of Information Service Industry

Chang, Chia-Wei 26 July 2002 (has links)
Abstract Low wage is seemed to be the powerful weapon of the firms in China and Southeast Asia. Many traditional and high-tech firms started to build the manufacturing base in those places. The condition causes the gap in our industry structure. In order to improve the industry level and national competitiveness of Taiwan, information service industry, which has the features both from high-tech and service industry, plays an important role during the process. Location expresses the spatial distribution and accumulative behavior of the firms. Lack of researches about the location choice behaviors of information service industry is the reason why I choose the topic. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which has the characteristic with multi-criteria, indefinite, group decision-making, qualitative, is the method what I use in this research. Analyzing the questionnaire, the sequence from high to low of the priorities of the locational choice factors is: market factors, industrial relevance factors, policy factors, environment factors and cost factors. The results what we found in the research are listed below: 1.Comparing with traditional manufacturing industry, cost factor is not as important as before for information service industry. 2.Why information service industry firms think highly of industrial relevance factors and policy factors is inherited from the high-tech industry. 3.Why information service industry firms think highly of market factors is inherited from the service industry. 4.The result, which makes us surprised very much, is that information service industry does not emphasize the agglomeration effect of the firms. It maybe means that the need of building a science park may not be caused by the benefit of agglomeration.

台灣金融資訊服務業營運與國際行銷策略之研究─以國內某大金融資訊公司之個案研究為例 / A study on Taiwan financial information service industry’s operational and international marketing strategy: a case analysis of a leading Taiwanese financial information

Tzang, Shih Jung Unknown Date (has links)
The information service industry has seen robust development around the globe, leading to the birth of many successful companies, such as Microsoft, Oracle, and Trend Micro. Despite the input of various resources by Taiwan’s academia and business sector aimed to increase the R&D momentum in information and management-related fields, the industry has failed to gain the same level of strong growth seen in the computer hardware industry. Besides, many of the information industry segments see the presence of many leading companies that have not only secured their market position but are also striving for continued expansion. Therefore, against an ever-increasingly competitive market environment, how does Taiwan maximize its unique strengths in the face of global competition? It is with the motivation to shed some light on this issue that the author selects the financial information service industry as the subject for in-depth analysis and research. This study uses case analysis to analyze the industry environment and accumulated resource of a leading Taiwanese financial information company. Based on the procedural framework of international marketing, the following research questions are discussed: (1) What is the reason behind the formation of the analyzed company’s international marketing strategy? (2) How does the analyzed company pursue strategic alliance? (3) How does the analyzed company promote international marketing? Summarizing the results of analysis, the key to the analyzed company successful international marketing strategy is threefold: (1) Expand core competency through mergers and acquisitions. (2) ITOM’s integrated platform responds to customers’ needs. (3) Form a complete international marketing network through strategic alliance. Finally, based on the above research conclusions, this study proposes relevant suggestions for the financial information service industry in expanding international marketing.

A Performance Study on Information Service Industry Technology Innovation Strategy

Huang, Min-Hui Unknown Date (has links)
The high-tech industries with technology as the main production factor bring the great economic growth around the world.
