Die Entwicklung eines Mediaplans für das Werdauer Hallen- und Freibad Webalu

Reichert, Steve 25 September 2009 (has links) (PDF)

Mellan A-traktor och skönlitteratur : Didaktiska metoder i undervisningen / Between the doodlebug tractor and literature : Didactic methods of teaching

Green, Niclas January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of my project is to determine how a multimodal/intermedial text can be used when teaching in upper secondary school. Can using a text that to some point is current in the pupils’ lives lift the interest for the specific subject? I opted to pick up Gunther Kress’ research, Diana Laurillard’s book and Christina Olin-Scheller’s work on the subject. I have used several hours of lesson planning and the lesson itself with subsequent work consisting, among other things, of three qualitative interviews to achieve my purpose. Based on a qualitative approach, I discuss the results, which show that it is in fact very uplifting. It is possible to work with multimodal/intermedial/intertextual texts, in many ways.

The Relationship between Leadership Styles and the Performance of Intermediate Management Teams: An Exploratory Study from Chile

Rodríguez-Ponce, Emilio, Pedraja-Rejas, Liliana, Ganga-Contreras, Francisco 10 April 2018 (has links)
This research aims to explore the relationship between leadership styles and the performance of work teams. For this purpose, we work with a sample of 38 intermediate management teams in an organization in northern Chile. The results  show that leadership styles explain 58.2% of the variance in the performance of the teams in the analyzed sample. Similarly, it should be noted that the transformational leadership (Test t = 1,907, p <0.065), transactional leadership (Test t = 2,610, p <0.013) and laissez-faire style (Test t = -1,867, p <0,071) are statistically relevant to explain the performance of the teams studied. With these results the scopes, limitations and implications of the research are discussed. / La presente investigación tiene como objetivo explorar la relación entre los estilos de liderazgo y el desempeño de los equipos de trabajo. Integration of first and second generation bioethanol processes using edible filamentous fungus Neurospora intermedia

Nair, Ramkumar B January 2017 (has links)
Establishing a commercial, lignocellulose-based, second-generation ethanol process has received several decades of attention by both researchers and industry. However, a fully economically viable process still remains a long-term goal. The main bottleneck to this achievement is the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic feedstocks, although there are several other factors, such as the huge investment required for second-generation ethanol facilities. An intelligent alternative solution discussed in this thesis is an integrated approach using firstgeneration ethanol plants for second-generation processes. Wheat is the major feedstock for first-generation ethanol in Europe; therefore, wheat-based lignocellulose waste, such as wheat straw, bran, and whole stillage fiber (a waste stream from first-generation wheat-based ethanol plants) was the primary focus of the integration model in this thesis. Since the major share of first-generation ethanol plant economics focuses on the animal feed DDGS (Distillers’ dried gains with solubles), the integration of lignocellulose should be designed in order to maintain DDGS quality. An ethanol-producing edible filamentous fungus, Neurospora intermedia, a potential protein source in DDGS, was considered for use as the fermenting microbe. The morphological and physiological aspects of this fungus were studied in the thesis, leading to the first report of fungal pellet development. An alternative approach of using dilute phosphoric acid to pretreat lignocellulose, as it does not negatively affect fungal growth or DDGS quality, was demonstrated in both the laboratory and on a 1m3 pilot scale. Furthermore, the process of hydrolysis of pretreated lignocelluloses and subsequent N. intermedia fermentation on lignocellulose hydrolysate was also optimized in the laboratory and scaled up to 1 m3 using an in-house pilot-scale airlift bioreactor. Fungal fermentation on acid-pretreated and enzyme-hydrolyzed wheat bran, straw and whole stillage fiber resulted in a final ethanol yield of 95%, 94% and 91% of the theoretical maximum based on the glucan content of the substrate, respectively. Integrating the first- and second-generation processes using thin stillage (a waste stream from first-generation wheat-based ethanol plants) enhanced the fungal growth on straw hydrolysate, avoiding the need for supplementing with extra nutrients. Based on the results obtained from this thesis work, a new model for integrated first- and second-generation ethanol using edible filamentous fungi processes that also adds value to animal feed (DDGS) was developed.

Larsson, Alfred, Lindskog, Anton January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis was to examine how traditional news media vis-à- vis alternative news media in Sweden portrayed the Quran burnings and the riots which followed during august in the summer of 2020. With the basis in framing theory and intermedia agenda setting we examined these research questions: How do the news papers frame the Quran burnings? What discourses are reproduced? How do the traditional news papers and the alternative news papers framing of the Quran burnings differ from each other?  The qualitative methods used in this bachelor thesis were Robert Entmans framing theory combined with Rens Vliegenthart &amp; Stefaan Walgraves intermedia agenda setting theory. Also, we used different theories regarding populism, clash of civilizations and freedom of speech in order to find various themes in the reporting. For instance, the study applies Mikhail Bakhtin’s theory of the carnivalesque to examine how the alternative news paper Samnytt framed the Quran burnings.  Through examining news articles, we discovered several preexisting frames and some additional ones. The results showed that the traditional news papers framed the Quran burnings in a laconic way as an intolerant act against Muslims, while the alternative news papers framed the Quran burnings as a clash of civilizations and simultaneously as an act of freedom of speech. In relation to the alternative news papers overly dramatic and sensationalistic discourse, the traditional news papers discourse was more moderate. In this way the populist discourse in the alternative news media and their focus on the “man on the street” is an example of how the alternative news media defines itself as an opposition to the hegemonic “elite” news media institutions. In the alternative news papers, we also found one specific frame concerning anti-Semitism in Malmö, which was not given the same amount of attention by the traditional news papers.  The result of this study shows differences in framing, in line with previous research regarding alternative news media and populism, that could be an example of how the alternative news media is born and defines itself as an alternative to a narrative they deem wrong or lacking in traditional news media. This is primarily an effect of the fact that the traditional news papers lacked diversity in their interviewees since they mostly relied on authority sources, or in one case their own opinion piece writer, to tell the story. The results of this study highlights processes and effects that lies at the core of several phenomenon in this sphere, therefore it should be used to further the research on framing, alternative news media and populism. / <p>En kvalitativ analys av traditionella kontra alternativa nyhetsmediers gestaltning av koranbränningarna i Malmö 2020. </p>

jn4.gesture: An interactive composition for dance.

Holmes, Douglas B. 05 1900 (has links)
jn4.gesture is an interactive multimedia composition for dancer and computer designed to extend the possibilities of artistic expression through the use of contemporary technology. The software produces the audiovisual materials, which are controlled by the movement of the dancer on a custom rug sensor. The software that produces the graphic and sonic material is created using a modular design. During run-time, the software's modules are directed by a scripting language developed to control and adjust the audiovisual production through time. The visual material provides the only illumination of the performer, and the projections follow the performer's movements. The human form is isolated in darkness and it remains the focal point in the visual environment. These same movements are used to create the sonic material and control the diffusion of sound in an eight channel sound system. The video recording of the performance was made on April 22, 2002. The work was produced in a specialized performance space using two computer projectors and a state of the art sound system. Arleen Sugano designed the costumes, choreographed and performed the composition in the Merrill Ellis Intermedia Theatre (MEIT) at the University of North Texas. The paper focuses on the design of the program that controls the production of the audiovisual environment. This is achieved with a discussion of background issues associated with gesture capture. A brief discussion of human-computer interface and its relationship with the arts provides an overview to the software design and mapping scenarios used to create the composition. The design of the score, a graphical user interface, is discussed as the element that synchronizes the media creation in "scenes" of the composition. This score delivers a hybrid script to the modules that controls the production of audiovisual elements. Particular modules are discussed and related to sensor mapping routines that give multiple mapping control to computer function enabling a single gesture o have multiple outcomes.

Growth of filamentous fungi in pure olive oil : a fundamental study for application to vegetable oil-derived waste streams

Nazir, Tahir Muhammad January 2020 (has links)
Vegetable oil is more difficult to degrade by microorganisms in comparison to carbohydrates and protein. Thus, it creates serious environmental and health concerns if oil-derived waste streams produced by restaurants and industries remain untreated. In this study, a strategy has been developed to grow filamentous fungi in pure olive oil so that it can be used as a bench-mark for growth in olive oil mill sidestreams. The growth of different strains (Aspergillus oryzae, Neurospora intermedia and Rhizopus oryzae) was tested in pure olive oil. A pre-germination stage using glucose as carbon and energy source, or the addition of yeast extract, were found necessary for successful fungal growth in olive oil. Here, A. oryzae showed a superior performance in comparison to N. intermedia and R. oryzae. Medium pH did not impact A. oryzae growth in olive oil, whereas a concentration higher than 40 g/L of the latter impaired the growth of the ascomycete. Obtained biomasses from A. oryzae and N. intermedia cultivations in olive oil were analyzed and compared for protein, fat, ash, and alkali-insoluble material (cell wall content), where the presence of olive oil had a steering effect. The fungal biomass of A. oryzae, obtained from cultivation in the absence of olive oil, contained 0.33% fat and 48% protein, whereas the respective values in the presence of olive oil were 31% and 14%. Similar trends on fat and protein contents were observed for the biomass of N. intermedia. Sudan black staining was also performed on fresh biomass which clearly indicated the presence of oil globules inside the fungal cells. This research can be a fundamental step towards treatment of oil-based waste streams, which entails high-energy and costs if treated, or environmental impacts during informal discharges. Moreover, the fact that the composition of fungal biomass can be steered through addition of olive oil increases the versatility of the originated biomass for various applications, namely in feed, food and biofuel production.

Dočasné intermediální vztahy a nastolování agendy: pokrytí kauzy nákupu jednokorunových dluhopisů emitovaných firmou Agrofert jejím majitelem Andrejem Babišem / Temporary Intermedia Relations and Agenda-Setting: Covering of the Purchase of One-Crown Bonds Issued by Agrofert by its Owner Andrej Babiš

Boboková, Blanka January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with intermedia relations and agenda-setting in the case of the purchase of one-crown bonds of the company Agrofert by its owner Andrej Babiš. The news story took place in the first half of 2017 and its research was ended on the date of filing of a motion to remove Andrej Babiš from the position of Minister of Finance in the then government of Bohuslav Sobotka. The subject of quantitative analysis of media content is the determination of the influence in intermedia relations, the development of the story coverage over time and the degree of use of links to social networks in news articles. The case study then uses the grounded theory method to identify the variables that represented the media inputs, political context, and political outputs that occurred during the development of the story, and also to look for relationships between the phenomena observed. The work is based on the theory of agenda-setting and a model of contingency of the mass media's political agenda-setting power. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter contains a summary of theoretical concepts and results of empirical studies related to the media agenda building and agenda- setting and the relationship between the media and political agenda. The second chapter focuses on the research...

Využití mykorhizy při vegetativním množení dřevin bylinnými řízky

Ján, Jakub January 2017 (has links)
The topic of the diploma thesis was the study of the influence of commercial mycorrhizal preparation on the rooting of softwood cuttings of two selected species of ornamental shrubs (Forsythia × intermedia 'Maluch' and Weigela florida 'Piccolo'). The main objective was to find out whether the mycorrhizal preparation can make the process of vegetative propagation more efficient and favourably influence the formation of roots. The used preparation contained arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi of the genus Glomus, two different amounts of the preparation were used. The experiment was carried out in the summer months of the year 2016. The experiment was founded in a plastic greenhouse on the ground of the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice in Moravia (the Czech Republic), two main terms of propagation passed (in June and August) and one supplementary term passed (in August). The total number of adventitious roots, the number of branched roots, the length of shoots and the mortality of cuttings were evaluated. Mycorrhizal colonization of roots was evaluated in the laboratory under the microscope. The results of the experiment did not show that the used mycorrhizal preparation can positively affect the rooting of softwood cuttings, the application of the mycorrhizal inoculum did not improve the efficiency of vegetative propagation and did not provide convincing advantages. Mycorrhizal fungi did not stimulate the growth of cuttings, and in fact they did not influence the number of adventitious roots neither in Forsythia × intermedia 'Maluch', nor in Weigela florida 'Piccolo'. The only significant positive was that the Weigela florida 'Piccolo' had a higher number of branched roots after inoculation. The observation of roots under the microscope showed that the roots of both species were colonized by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, but the extent of colonization did not reach high levels. Mycorrhizal inoculation of propagation substrate cannot be recommended as an effective method that would improve rooting. However, it should be added that the experiment only passed for one year and the results were based only on one term of propagation. Thus the influence of mycorrhizal fungi on the rooting of plant cuttings should be the subject of further research.
