Återanvändning av ett företags åtgärder inom ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015

There are a variety of advantages to companies certifying their management system according to the ISO standards that exist. Examples of these advantages are that you get a tool that helps to conduct your business in a better way as you often get into continuous improvements in this context. This report concerns two companies, Götessons Industri AB and company X, company X was acquired just over a year ago by the Götessons Group. The Götessons Group wants all companies in the Group to be certified according to both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. The purpose of the work was therefore to develop appropriate solutions to be able to certify a management system at company X in accordance with ISO requirements. This should be done by trying to take as much from the solutions that Götessons used to obtain a certificate and then apply this to company X.   The work also briefly addresses why companies choose to be certified according to ISO standards, but also a description of what a functioning management system can look like. The theories used to create a foundation in the work are ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, Management System and Management System Standard. To supplement these theories, a number of different methods have also been used in the form of document studies, literature studies, investigations, and interviews. The document study that has been carried out is to review Götesson's management system. The literature study that has been done is primarily an in-depth study at SIS on what a certification means. The investigations and interviews carried out are visits to the various companies and related interviews. The interviews have been with staff but mainly with the company's external auditor who has over 20 years of experience in certifications.   The work resulted in the reuse of a large part of Götesson's management system to company X’s management system. Some parts can be transferred without further adaptation, while some parts require a greater adaptation to better suit the business. When introducing a management system within a corporate group, the strategy used in the study lead to both time savings and cost savings for the companies involved. The work also showed that in this case it will not be possible to apply all the measures as the activities differ in certain processes.

Magíster en Tecnologías de la Información / Actualmente existen una variedad de estándares y metodologías de gestión de proyectos que están enfocados a diferentes tipos de organizaciones y tipos de proyectos. Estos pueden ser aplicados desde proyectos relacionados con la arquitectura e ingeniería, hasta proyectos relacionados con la tecnología. Como ejemplo de estos estándares, tenemos al PMBOK creado por el Project Management Institute y como de metodología al PRINCE2, el cual fue desarrollado por la Office of Government Commerce de la Gran Bretaña. En general estos estándares y metodologías requieren un gran esfuerzo para ser adaptados o implementados dentro de las organizaciones, ya que es necesario contar con un conocimiento profundo y experiencia en el uso de ellos o porque la implementación y adaptación implica cambios en la cultura de la organización. Debido a lo anterior, las pequeñas empresas se pueden enfrentar a diferentes problemas y desafíos al intentar implementar estos estándares y metodologías de gestión de proyectos. Esto se debe principalmente a que este tipo de empresas son ágiles en su operación, a que muchas veces no cuentan con procesos organizacionales bien definidos y que una misma persona puede tener diferentes roles dentro de la misma organización. Si los procesos de gestión de proyectos no son ajustados correctamente a los requisitos y necesidades de estas pequeñas organizaciones, entonces estos procesos se pueden convertir en obstáculos y pueden ser percibidos como burocracia. Para ayudar a solucionar los desafíos y problemas mencionados, fue que la International Organization for Standardization (ISO) y la International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) desarrollaron en conjunto la norma ISO/IEC 29110 creada para gestionar proyectos de software para las Very Small Entities (VSE), las cuales se definieron como pequeñas organizaciones con un tamaño no mayor a 25 personas. Si bien el proceso de gestión de proyectos de la norma se desarrolló para gestionar proyectos relacionados con el desarrollo de software, es lo suficientemente flexible como para poder ser adaptado a todo tipo de proyectos. La norma es implementada mediante paquetes de despliegue, los cuales son conjuntos de elementos como documentos y plantillas que se crean para facilitar y orientar la implementación y aplicación de las prácticas de la norma. Este documento de tesis propone la implementación de un proceso de gestión de proyectos basado y adaptado de la norma ISO/IEC 29110 en DevelopIT, la cual es una pequeña empresa que se dedica a implementaciones de soluciones de infraestructura tecnológica y cuyas características son similares a las definidas para las VSE. Para cumplir con este objetivo, se adaptó el proceso de gestión de proyectos definido en la norma y se desarrollaron los elementos para construir el paquete de despliegue para implementar el proceso. Adicionalmente se configuró Redmine, el cual es un Project Management Information System (PMIS) que cuenta con funcionalidades que se usaron para soportar algunos pasos del nuevo proceso. Este nuevo proceso y el PMIS fueron probados en la gestión de un proyecto real de la organización. Esta prueba sirvió para capacitar a la organización en el proceso, realizar una adecuada gestión del cambio y validar la efectividad del nuevo proceso.

A sustentabilidade está sendo inserida no contexto empresarial como uma forma de minimizar os impactos causados pelos processos produtivos. Empresas estão deixando de considerar somente questões econômicas e passaram a atentarem-se as questões socioambientais. Diante desse contexto, as organizações utilizam ferramentas como normas de sistemas de gestão para auxiliar a satisfazer os anseios das partes interessadas e introduzir a sustentabilidade em seus contextos. No cenário científico não identificou-se estudos que abordassem a relação existente entre normas de sistemas de gestão e a sustentabilidade empresarial. Sendo assim, esse estudo teve como objetivo analisar a relação entre normas de sistemas de gestão (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 e NBR 16001) e a sustentabilidade empresarial. Para isso realizou-se uma revisão bibliográfica com o intuito de identificar os requisitos da sustentabilidade empresarial. Esses foram extraídos do Índice de Sustentabilidade Empresarial, Indicadores Ethos e Global Reporting Initiative, pois agrupam os principais elementos da sustentabilidade empresarial. Posteriormente foi construída matriz de relação contendo os requisitos da sustentabilidade empresarial e os requisitos de cada norma de sistema de gestão estudada. Essa matriz foi preenchida pela pesquisadora e por 6 especialistas que utilizam essas normas diariamente. Posteriormente as respostas foram consolidadas gerando a Matriz de Relação Consolidada (MRC) que foi analisada e interpretada. As relações foram classificadas como forte, moderada, fraca ou nula. Essa matriz foi o meio utilizado para atingir o objetivo da pesquisa. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que a ISO 9001 e a OHSAS 18001 possuem relação fraca com a sustentabilidade empresarial. A ISO 14001 apresenta relação moderada e a NBR 16001 apresenta relação forte. Sendo assim, conclui-se que esses padrões normativos podem auxiliar as empresas a introduzirem a sustentabilidade em seu contexto, no entanto, a ISO 9001 e a OHSAS 18001 são normas que abordam apenas alguns elementos da sustentabilidade empresarial. A NBR 16001 é a norma que mais apresenta os elementos da sustentabilidade em seu escopo. Sendo assim, empresas que objetivam introduzir a sustentabilidade nos ambientes corporativos poderiam focar na implementação da NBR. / Sustainability is being inserted into the business context as a way to minimize the negative impacts of production processes. In this context, organizations use tools such as management system standards to help stakeholders satisfy their aspirations and introduce sustainability into their contexts. A study that approached the relation between standards of management systems and corporate sustainability wasnt identified in the scientific scenery. Therefore, the goal is to analyze the relation between management system standards (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and NBR 16001) and corporate sustainability. A literature review was carried out in order to identify the requirements of corporate sustainability. These were taken from the Corporate Sustainability Index, Ethos Indicators and Global Reporting Initiative, for they group the main elements of corporate sustainability. Later, a relation matrix containing the requirements of corporate sustainability was built with the requirements of each standard management system studied. This matrix was filled by the researcher and six experts who use these standards daily. Later responses were consolidated generating the Consolidated Relation Matrix which was analyzed and interpreted. Relations were classified as strong, moderate, weak or null. This matrix was the means used to achieve the objective of the research. The survey results show that the ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 have weak relation to corporate sustainability. The ISO 14001 has moderate relation and the NBR 16001 presents strong relation. Therefore, it is concluded that these regulatory standards can help companies to introduce sustainability in their context, however, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 are standards that address only some elements of corporate sustainability. The NBR 16001 is the standard that has more elements of sustainability in its scope. Thus, companies aiming to introduce sustainability into corporate environments could focus on the implementation of the NBR 16001.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur kunder uppfattar betydelsen av en miljöcertifiering hos företag, och om en miljöcertifiering har någon inverkan på kundernas köpbeslutsprocess. Med utgångspunkt i teorin om kunders köpbeslutsprocess har jag tittat på hur kunder till mitt fallföretag Knappen Tryckeri AB, uppfattar betydelsen av en miljöcertifiering hos företag och om en miljöcertifiering har någon inverkan på kundernas köpbeslutsprocess. Baserat på min undersökning anser jag att kunder behöver mer information om vad en miljöcertifiering innebär för att de ska kunna göra aktiva miljömedvetna val i sin köpbeslutsprocess. Klart är att miljöfrågor blir allt viktigare och att konsumenterna blir allt mer upplysta. Det är viktigt att i takt med den nuvarande trenden att marknadsföra sig som ett "grönt" företag, att konsumenter får mer information som gör det möjligt att skilja på ren marknadsföring och ett aktivt miljöarbete. Det är svårt att dra några generella slutsatser om huruvida en miljöcertifiering tillför något värde till företaget. För vissa kunder är det mycket viktigt att ett företag arbetar aktivt med miljön och kan styrka detta i form av en certifiering, medan det för andra kunder inte är något de alls lägger märke till eller letar efter hos ett företag. ISO 9001 - Vägen mot nöjda kunder? : En studie i hur företag bör tillämpa kvalitetsledningssystemet ISO 9001

Syftet med undersökning är att studera på vilket sätt tillämpningen av ISO 9001 påverkar kundnöjdheten samt om det innebär, eller om det krävs mer, för att erhålla nöjda samt lojala kunder. Denna studie är utav kvalitativ karaktär och består av intervjuer. Intervjuobjekten var servicemarknadschefer samt kunder hos sex bilverkstäder i Stockholms län. Studien utgörs av en deduktiv ansats. Studiens empiri består av intervjuer med servicemarknadschefen samt fem kunder på respektive verkstad. Slutsatser som kan härledas ur undersökningen är att för att nå hög kundnöjdhet samt erhålla lojala kunder, bör ISO 9001 ses som en standard, vilken kräver utveckling samt anpassning utifrån företagets egen verklighet. Utöver detta är personlighet i form av ett genuint engagemang för den individuella kunden av stor betydelse.

The most important topic of quality management in recently year is the relationship between TQM and organizational performance, and the ISO 9000 is also the index of the quality management system promoted around the world. This empirical study that utilizes a mail survey tries to explore the influence of implementing the ISO 9000 in TQM practices and organization performance. This study also aims at the relationship between TQM and organization performance. The result showed that the score of six TQM categories upraised significantly, which consist with the others report¡¦s views ¡V ¡§ISO 9000 is the first step toward to TQM¡¨ The result also showed that ISO 9000 certification has administered very important on establish the quality culture and on concept of quality. For verifying the relation between the TQM & the organizational performance, the results showed that the relationship between TQM & quality performance are statistically significant but, if go thoroughly into the details by regression analysis, we found only two categories ¡§process & service management¡¨ & the ¡§customer satisfaction¡¨, which have the significant relationship with quality performance.

Use of a thermodynamic cycle simulation to determine the difference between a propane-fuelled engine and an iso-octane-fuelled engine

A thermodynamic cycle simulation of the four-stroke spark-ignition engine was used to determine the effects of variations in engine design and operating parameters on engine performance and emission characteristics. The overall objective was to use the engine cycle simulation to determine the difference between a propane-fuelled and an iso-octane-fuelled engine for the same operating conditions and engine specifications. A comprehensive parametric investigation was conducted to examine the effects of variations in load, speed, combustion duration, spark timing, equivalence ratio, exhaust gas recycle, and compression ratio for a 3.3 liter, Chrysler Minivan, V 6 engine operating on propane. Parameters were selected for the analysis. Variations in the brake specific fuel consumption, brake specific NOx emissions, and mean exhaust temperature were determined for both the propane-fuelled and the iso-octane-fuelled engines. Brake specific fuel consumption and mean exhaust temperature values for the propane-fuelled engine were consistently lower (3 to 5 %) than the corresponding values for the iso-octane-fuelled engine. Fuel structure did not have a significant effect on brake specific nitric oxide emissions. Predictions made from the simulation were compared with some of the available experimental results. Predicted brake torque and brake power showed acceptable quantitative agreement (less than 10 % variation) in the low engine speed range (1,000 to 3,000 rpm) and similar trends with the available experimental data.
