Configuration management evaluation guidance for high robustness systems

Gross, Michael E. 03 1900 (has links)
Approved for public release, distribution is unlimited / Configuration Management (CM) plays a vital role in the development of trusted computing systems. The Common Criteria (CC) provides a framework for performing Information Technology (IT) security evaluations of these systems and further emphasizes CM's role in the development and evaluation process by specifying a minimum set of CM qualities for each Evaluated Assurance Level (EAL). As an evaluation guide, the Common Methodology for Information Technology Security Evaluation, Part 2: Evaluation Methodology (CEM), recommends a set of minimum CM guidelines which can be used by evaluators in the performance of a CM evaluation at the lower Evaluated Assurance Levels. Evaluators and developers will quickly note the CEM's lack of recommended CM guidelines at the higher assurance levels. Thorough study of the listed references supports the hypothesis for this work: Configuration Management guidelines are useful in the evaluation of trusted computing systems. As an assurance mechanism, complete CM guidance helps users of high assurance products obtain a degree of confidence the system security requirements operate as intended and do not contain clandestine code. Complete CM guidance provides evaluators with a "completed assurance scale" and ensures only authorized changes were made to the TOE during development. Useful CM guidelines at the higher assurance levels (EAL5, 6, and 7) will help developers and evaluators ensure products meet the minimum requirements needed for high assurance systems. / Lieutenant, United States Navy

Příprava nové IT služby telefonního operátora / Development of a new IT service of a telephone service provider

Králíčková, Lenka January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of launching a new IT product on the Czech market. It focuses on small businesses and introduces an IT product intended for this specific kind of a clientele. There is no such a product on the market, which leads to an excellent potential in this field. On the basis of experience, the company in which the IT product is introduced finds it crucial to develop a reliable marketing mix as well as strategy because it is difficult to offer these IT products to people owning smalls businesses who do not understand the technological aspects of such products. The theoretical part, therefore, provides the definition of the main marketing terms, B2B market, marketing strategy, marketing mix, SWOT analysis and a detailed description of launching a new product on the market, including the explanation of the differences between launching a product and service. The practical part of this paper gives information about a telephone service provider and its major competitors and it describes the IT products situation on the Czech market. The thesis also recommends a particular marketing mix of the selected product and a sale strategy. The success rate of the product is analysed on the basis of an interview with a small business and the opinion of the manager of a company in which the product is introduced.

Att möta kunden med användbarhet

Forsman, Johan, Svenn, Daniel January 2011 (has links)
In relation to the development of IT-products it is very important that the software supplier is aware not only of the target group but also the field of application. Usability should characterize the whole IT-design process as, in relation to this context, design includes more than merely those aspects which are visible to and thus can be interpreted by the naked eye. The study examines the specific qualities and properties that substantiate the usability and the demands that a customer rightfully expects from an IT-product. The user and the customer are highlighted in the same context in order to demonstrate that it is through the customer that an IT-product is defined as being useful. Thus, from this perspective, the user and customer can be considered as being the same person. The empirical survey was based on those factors that were considered to constitute usability and each interview was conducted using these usability factors together with the intended IT-product. The survey has been carried out using analysis models in order to enable the assertions to be both validated and tested and to ensure the appropriateness of the model’s system and also the independence of the method. This qualitative study has been carried out using randomly chosen respondents and IT-products and the perceptions of these respondents in relation to what they felt were the properties that represented a usable IT-product have been noted. The analysis section deals with the usability properties which have been assumed to further substantiate the five usability factors utilized in the survey.  It is apparent from the analysis that is it quite possible to determine a minimum level of what constitutes usability and that this can be applied regardless of what IT-product is being described. The conclusion to be drawn from this is that the opinions and experiences of both user and customer should be considered in order to provide guidance in relation to satisfying the requirements with regards to the design of IT-products.

Разработка бизнес-процессов смешанной формы обучения по авторским курса на специализированной ИТ-платформе : магистерская диссертация / Development of business processes of blended learning according to the author's course on a specialized IT platform

Шайхутдинова, К. Р., Shaikhutdinova, K. R. January 2022 (has links)
The digitalization trend is actively observed in Russian education, especially during the period of isolation because of COVID-19. Distance learning during the pandemic pointed to the shortcomings of the educational process, highlighted gaps in the knowledge of students and pointed out the need for training of tutors due to increasing number of tutors. The introduction of educational technologies into the learning process without changing the classical business process does not allow to obtain the expected efficiency, but can also reduce it, as the results of students in 2020 show. At the same time, when it’s determined the results of efficiency from the technologies implementation, it is necessary to rely not only on qualitative indicators, but also on quantitative ones. The paper presents the development of an educational online course for training tutors of the author's technology for solving text exercises in the natural sciences of the Network Engineering School, as well as the development of business processes for teaching a student with a tutor using an online course based on technology for solving exercises on a specialized IT- platform and evaluating the effectiveness of implementing a new business process.
