kommunikasiepraktisyn se rol as strategis.

Communication efficacy of South African arts festivals : the case of Klein Karoo National Arts Festival / J.A. KrielKriel, Jaun Antonie January 2010 (has links)
The primary objective of this study was to determine the communication efficacy at arts
festivals with specific reference to the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK). This goal
was achieved by firstly discussing the concept of communication. Secondly, a literature study
was conducted in order to examine the links between communication and events. Thirdly, the
results of the empirical research were discussed, and finally conclusions were drawn from
the research and recommendations were made with regard to the communication efficacy of
events, as well as for further research.
From the literature, communication between the event organisers and the local community
was defined. It was noted that communication plays an integral part in the success of an
event. The host community plays an integral part in events as role players. By establishing
and implementing an effective communication strategy to and from the organisers, the KKNK
will harvest the fruits of a successful cultural event.
Participation, decision making and informing the stakeholders using different types of media
was the means by which the KKNK organisers communicated with the host community.
Positive and negative impacts were measured in a questionnaire. The questionnaire that
sought to measure whether there were significant differences between the two host
communities of Oudtshoorn, and whether there were any differences in the results of the
communication strategy of the organisers when comparing the opinions of the white and of
the coloured communities. The questionnaires were distributed among the community
members of Oudtshoorn, using on a stratified sampling method, and by using a random
sampling method. A total of 258 questionnaires were completed, 110 from the white
community and 148 from the coloured community.
Means and standards deviations were determined following the affected sizes to explore the
differences between the importance of participation and communication in the two
communities, based on the dimensions of the various factors as determined in the factor
analysis. It became clear that there is a small effect (0.2-0.5) on the opinions of the two
communities regarding their being informed, community participation and the communication
from KKNK to the Oudtshoorn community in general. Decision-making and participation
opinions resulted in medium effects. It is the major significance of these effect sizes that the white and coloured communities do not believe they have equal decision making
opportunities and participation.
The chi-square test of significance revealed a small significance (0.1 - 0.3) in the following
areas: overall communication, information received and sought for through different types of
media and importance of the KKNK to Oudtshoorn. A medium significance (0.3 - 0.5) was
measured, and recommendations were made that programs meeting the needs of host
communities, decision making and having the community become active in festival programs
should be initiated.
This study contributes to the limited amount of literature available on the communication
efficacy of events to their host communities. / Thesis (M.Com. (Tourism))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2011.

The ability to communicate is a basic characteristic of man.
Communication therefore fills an important and central place
in Religious Instruction.
Today communication is a problem in all spheres of society and
particularly in Religious Instruction. The fundamental cause
of the problem of communication is the disturbed relationship
between man and God caused by the original sin. The result
thereof is a distortion of all human communication.
Through Jesus Christ man has obtained the opportunity to restore
his relationship with God and thus the possibility of better
human communication. This possibility only becomes reality
when the individual accepts Jesus Christ is the foundation for
true communication.
Before true communication can take place both the child and the
teacher must be in gear with God's Word. The most important
requirement for communication in Religious Instruction for both
teacher and child is that they must be Christians.
The number of non-Christian children in schools is increasing.
This brings a new facet in Religious Instruction which suggests
evangelization, and requires a new approach in respect of the
syllabi, textbooks, training of teachers and classroom teaching.
In order to communicate with the child one must know and understand him. The intellectual level, the environment and the
mental attitude of today's child is in many respects totally
different to that of the child of previous generations. In
order to adapt to the child of today a new approach in Religious Instruction is necessary. The present selection and arrangement of the subject matter in Religious Instruction is outdated and needs to be replanned. It must meet the actuality-requirements of the modern child and society.
Communication has a central place in every aspect of Religious Instruction and therefore the entire method of Religious Instruction must be based om communication. However, at present this is not always the case.
Thorough planning, training and presentation in Religious Instruction is essential, but our trust must not be therein. True communication is the work of God, and the true strength in Religious Instruction is the strength of God. What we actually seek and need in our work is God’s blessing. / Thesis (MEd)--PU vir CHO

Samewerking in die prosaklaskamer as medium vir akademiese ontwikkeling by primêre onderwysstudenteCornelissen, Georgina Caroline January 1990 (has links)
Magister Educationis - MEd / In this mini-thesis I focus primarily on collaborative writing in the study of prescribed prose texts as a medium of academic development of primary school student teachers. The problem with the present approach to the teaching of prose texts, and the introduction of the prosess approach to writing as a possible solution to the problem, is briefly discussed. In Chapter 2 the deficiencies of the current approach to the
teaching of prose texts are discussed in detail. To place the above in the proper perspective a critical analysis is made of the existing Teachers Diploma syllabus for Afrikaans prose setworks, with special reference to the interpretation of the syllabus, and the organisation and presentation of the teaching programme for prose texts at a specific teachers' college of education. The main shortcomings which are referred to in the study are, inter alia: the organisation of the prose setwork teaching programme, compartmentalisation of language components, limited teaching time, the implication of the single, vague teaching goal for prose "texts, lecturer-centredness, and student's
inability to work independently. In Chapter 3 the possible influence of the present approach to writing on the teaching of prose texts is discussed with special reference to methods of collaboration in learning. It is argued that the application of groupwork in a learnercentered
approach to the teaching of prose texts can contribute to the elimination of many of the above problems, and that it can result in a rejuvenation in the class context, which may lead to students experiencing literature study as an enjoyable learning activity. The holistic nature of the process approach to writing is also included, since it leads to the integration of different language components, and saves time. The process approach to writing provides the required instruments for independent study. It is argued that the process approach to writing helps students to take co-responsibility for their own learning, and offers them the opportunity to contribute towards their own academic development. Based on the advantages indicated above, I designed a draft curriculum in Chapter 4. Action research was :done and the
process approach to writing was implemented in the reality of the classroom situation on a small scale. With the lecturer who acted as facilitator to guide them to a specific goal, twenty-two first year students studied a prose setwork text, Jerigo-krisis by André Jansen. A single aspect in the process approach to writing was emphasised in particular, viz., collaborative learning in literature study. During the implementation of the plan an observer monitored the reaction of the target group, and gave her comments after each lesson. Students were also asked to evaluate the course in their personal journals, and to discuss the course during their journal conferences. The biggest shortcoming of the provisional plan, which students mentioned, and which I also noticed was the lack of time. The students wanted to spend more time on certain conferences, particularly content and evaluation conferences. The revised plan in Chapter 5 is the result and
amendment of the draft curriculum.

kommunikasie met potensiële vrywilligers as belangegroep.
speel in potensiële vrywilligers se persepsievorming.

Intercultural communication in information systems development teams / M.E. Nhlapo.Nhlapo, Moleboge Emma January 2013 (has links)
Communication is a critical success factor to information systems development (ISD) projects. Intercultural communication involves two or more people from diverse cultures communication and using different worldviews and context transmit messages to each other. The aim of this study is to gain an understanding on the influence of the intercultural communication on the performance of an ISD team. In order to achieve this aim one needs to understand information systems research and to justify the selection of the chosen research methodology; to understand information systems development and ISD teams; to understand culture and communication; to understand what affects communication has between different cultures; to discover how cultural misunderstandings impact upon ISD team performance and to discover the steps taken to eliminate miscommunication due to cultural issues in organizations.
The interpretive research was carried out in several organizations in Gauteng province of South Africa that develop or has a department that develops information systems. A multiple case study using interviews and content analysis as research methods were instrumental in coming to the conclusion of the research. A multicultural dyad conducted interviews in three participating organizations. Diverse information systems development team members participated in this study.
The results of the study describe how intercultural communication influences ISD teams in a South African environment. They also provide an understanding on culture and communication. The results of the study also report on culture and personality as determinants of behaviour, and also on different perceptions of culture. The different ISD team dynamics may be affected by team members’ culture and personality. The results also report on intercultural communication in information systems development teams and how it is affected by the different cultural context. / Thesis (MSc (Computer Science))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2013.
