They were considered for the survey two companies reported using the management skills as a management method. We used the qualitative research method. We opted for the case study, transversal method where all measurements were made in a single moment. It is a comprehensive study that seeks to understand the facts after they have occured. The unit of analysis was the management processes for skills, performance policy evaluation and analysis of the responses of respondents. The findings of the reserach revealed that organizations seek to integrate studied the organizational strategies with competency management program, the programs are similar, and most important factor: they have the support of the compan´s board. The same conduct annual performance review and give feedback to employees. The focus of the programas is the development of people and the development of skills to meet the goals. However, they have adjustments to be made, as in the study of one of the companies in which the program is not intended for the vast majority of employees. It is a great challenge for the company, as if the situation is not reviewed, may cause harmful effects, such as lack of motivation, dissatisfaction, reduced productivity, workers have no focus no professional growht view. In this way there are not likely to contribute to the achievement of the organization´s strategies. Another issue to be examined is whether the type of performane measurement used by the two organizations, where only the manager evaluates the employee, is the ideal type. In the literatyre, the authors advocate the performance evaluation that 360 degrees is the most complete type and it can bring more benefits. As contributions to the organizations were cited improvement in communication, clarity to know what to evaluate and how to evaluate and easier to resolve questions related to the succession plan. / Esta pesquisa de dissertação teve como objetivos verificar como e porque as empresas estudadas aplicam a gestão por competência, o tipo de avaliação de desempenho, as principais contribuições, as facilidades e dificuldades do programa. Foram consideradas para a pesquisa duas empresas que declararam utilizar a gestão por competências como método de gestão. Utilizou-se o método de pesquisa qualitativa. Optou-se pelo estudo de caso, método transversal onde todas as medições foram feitas em um único momento. É um estudo explicativo, que procura entender os fatos após os mesmos terem ocorrido. A unidade de análise foram os processos de gestão por competências, políticas de avaliação de desempenho e análise das respostas dos respondentes. As conclusões da pesquisa revelaram que as organizações estudadas procuram integrar as estratégias organizacionais com o programa de gestão por competências, que os programas são similares, e o fator mais importante: possuem o apoio da diretoria da empresa. As mesmas realizam avaliação de desempenho anual e dão feedback aos funcionários. O foco dos programas é no desenvolvimento das pessoas e no desenvolvimento de competências para o cumprimento das metas. Entretanto, possuem ajustes a serem feitos, como no estudo de uma das empresas em que o programa não é previsto para a grande maioria dos funcionários. É um grande desafio para a empresa, pois caso a situação não seja revista, poderá causar efeitos nocivos, como a desmotivação, insatisfação, queda de produtividade, ter trabalhadores sem foco e sem visualização de crescimento profissional. Desta forma, os mesmos provavelmente não irão contribuir para o alcance das estratégias da organização. Outra questão a ser analisada é se o tipo de avaliação de desempenho utilizada pelas duas organizações, onde somente o gestor avalia o funcionário, é o tipo ideal. Na literatura os autores defendem a avaliação de desempenho 360 graus que é o tipo mais completo e que pode trazer mais benefícios. Como contribuições para as organizações, foram citadas a melhoria na comunicação, a clareza em saber o que avaliar e como avaliar e facilidade para resolver questões voltadas ao plano de sucessão.

It is a region with one of the highest rates of artificial lake the world, but the policy of building dams to mitigate the problem of water scarcity does not solve, given that they have not demonstrated the ability to ensure supply human priority during periods of great drought and fail to solve the widespread demand existent in the semiarid. This work aims to present the optimal allocation of water, according to multiple uses and limited availability of water resources in the reservoir, from the simulation of the operation of the same, with the application of techniques to support decision making and performance evaluation alternatives for water use. The reservoir of Santa Cruz, the second largest reservoir of RN with storage capacity of approximately 600 million cubic meters, located about 20 km from the town of Apodi in RN, was conceived as a way to promote economic development in the region as well as the water supply of nearby towns. The techniques used are the simulation model of network flow ACQUANET and also the set of performance indicators. The results showed that the container has the capacity to serve up to 3,83m3/s flow required by existing uses, without any compromising the same. However, it was also observed that all anticipated future demands are implemented it will generate failures in meeting some uses / A regi?o do semi?rido potiguar apresenta um quadro discrepante, ? uma regi?o com um dos maiores ?ndices de a?udagem do mundo. O reservat?rio de Santa Cruz, o segundo maior reservat?rio do RN com capacidade de armazenamento de aproximadamente 600 milh?es de metros c?bicos, localizado cerca de 20 km da sede do munic?pio de Apodi no RN, foi concebido como forma de promover o desenvolvimento econ?mico da regi?o bem como o abastecimento de ?gua de munic?pios pr?ximos. The issue of the economics of cultural institutions, their economic impact, and measurement of their performance has been paid systematic attention basically only in the past few years. PhD thesis analyses the methods of performance measurement in public art museums and creates economic models. Aim of my thesis is also to create a model for museum managers to measure the performance. Nowadays it is almost necessary to integrate performance measurement system in organization´s strategy decision making. The museum managers feel the pressure to prove that their organization is performing well by various stakeholders and we perceive the idea that multidimensional performance measures could fill the informational gap concerning performance, quality, and the artistic value of cultural programs. The mixed research method was employed in this research. Qualitative data was obtained from the questionnaire and interviews. Quantitative data was obtained from the questionnaire, annual reports and reports of The National Information and Consulting Centre for Culture (NIPOS). The aim of this study is to propose a comprehensive multidimensional model to assess art museum activities. This model takes into account the scope and character of museum´s mission. This model consists of implementation of Data Envelopment Analysis into Balanced Scorecard.

Les Aires Marines Protégées (AMPs) sont reconnues comme des outils efficaces de conservation et de gestion des ressources. L'efficacité des AMPs, définie comme le degré d'accomplissement de leurs objectifs, est très variable. Certaines caractéristiques des AMPs (âge) expliquent une partie de cette variabilité, mais une autre partie reste encore inexpliquée. En appliquant la Science de l’Organisation (OS, discipline qui étudie l’organisation) aux AMPs, d'autres facteurs qui affectent l'efficacité de la gestion pourraient être détectés. Les objectifs de ce manuscrit sont : 1) évaluer l'efficacité des AMPs méditerranéennes, 2) explorer l'application des OS aux AMPs, 3) utiliser la OS pour l'évaluation des caractéristiques de l'organisation des AMPs, la performance (qui est le niveau d'effort exercé pour atteindre les objectifs) et l'efficacité. Les données écologiques et organisationnelles des AMPs méditerranéennes ont été collectées dans la littérature scientifique et grise, et par des questionnaires. Les résultats montrent que les AMPs méditerranéennes sont efficaces, malgré que la variabilité de nos résultats n’ait été que partiellement expliquée. Notre approche utilisant la OS pour les AMPs n’a pas été appliquée auparavant. Notre tentative d'incorporer la OS dans le contexte des AMPs est ainsi originale. Les résultats montrent une hétérogénéité organisationnelle des AMPs méditerranéennes. Dans les AMPs étudiées, la performance était faible, avec des relations entre des variables organisationnelles et l'efficacité des AMPs. Cette recherche constitue une avancée pour améliorer l'efficacité des AMPs, qui aura de multiples répercussions écologiques, sociales et politiques. / Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are recognized as tools for conservation and resource management purposes. MPA management effectiveness, i.e. the degree of achievement of MPA goals, is highly variable. Some MPA features (e.g. age) partially explain such variability, but part of it still remains unexplained. Other factors affecting MPA management effectiveness could be detected by applying the Organization Science (OS, discipline that studies the organizations) to MPAs. The objectives of this manuscript are to 1) assess the management effectiveness of Mediterranean MPAs, 2) explore the application of OS in MPA context, 3) use the OS framework for the assessment of MPA organizational features, management performance (i.e. the level of effort exerted to achieve MPA goals) and effectiveness. Ecological and organizational data on Mediterranean MPAs were collected through questionnaires, and from peer-reviewed and grey literature. Results show that Mediterranean MPAs are effective, but the overall variability of our outcomes was only partially explained. No previous studies applied the OS framework to MPAs. Our attempt to incorporate the OS framework in the MPA context is, therefore, novel. Results show a significant heterogeneity of Mediterranean MPAs from an organizational point of view. The studied MPAs displayed a generally low management performance, with relationships between some organizational variables and the MPA management effectiveness. The present research is an important step forward to improve MPA management effectiveness, which has multiple ecological, social and political implications.

Diploma thesis deals with the assessment of performance appraisal of non-medical healthcare employees in Oblastní nemocnice Jičín a.s. . The thesis contents theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part anchors the performance appraisal system into the human resource management, with focus on the role of line managers. It also deals with the definition of job performance, circumstances that influence, and capabilities of its monitoring. Another part of the thesis emphasizes on the implementation of employee appraisal into practice, in which top management of the organization plays an important role. At the end of the theoretical part, I try to highlight the importance of linking of employee assessment with the vision, goals and values of the organization. The theoretical part offers the solution of the imperfections identified in the applied research. The practical part brings point of view on the reasons and way of implementation of employee appraisal in the organization, its adaptation by the employees and effectiveness of its use by the line managers. Dissertation work is engaged in methodical definition of the principal contributions of Supply chain management (next SCM) and focuses on proposals of approaches to increase of company effectiveness and profitability and also the whole company performance by using this method, tries to present various possibilities of measurement of this performance and to create a certain methodology for its increasing using SCM. The thesis is conceived having regard to fulfillment of the principal and partial goals of the dissertation thesis. The first part of this work is mainly dedicated to reasons of topicality and meaning of the concept SCM. The next part is focused on the present state of solved questions where describes actual opinions of experts and individual directions of using SCM in companies. This part also describes main definitions and the philosophy of SCM and is also engaged in IT support of this method. The next part is concerned with the partial goals, whose solutions create the main purpose and content of this dissertation thesis. These goals can be summarized in four fundamental spheres: .. This feedback would be a proposal for internal evaluation, i.e., the self evaluation of courses. Out of the difficulty of a self evaluation process for the undergraduate courses, emerges a problem-question to be researched: in what way does the net feedback tool promote a management quality of the performance of the Administration course? The study of multiple case is chosen, having a descriptive, and exploratory character as its method of study due to three factors: 1) assuming the existence of little academic knowledge about the proposed problem, 2) the methodology allows the deep study of phenomena in context, 3) feedback in Brazilian companies is ample but it has an innovative character at the universities. Theoretically, the project supports itself from the contributions of: Taylor (1856 1915), with scientific administration; MacGregor (1906 1964), leadership styles; Habermas (1987), the communicative action theory; Enguita (1989), today s contradictions in the capitalist system; Reis (2003), net feedback; Dias Sobrinho e Ristoff (2000), Trigueiro (2004), institutional evaluation. The sample is taken from the observation of a University Center (MG) and a Mexican Multinational branch in the telecommunication field, located in Goiânia GO, which uses the net feedback to bring these realities close together. The study was done through in locus research, through a bibliographical review, documental analysis, interviews and questionnaire application. / Essa dissertação sobre a Avaliação do Desempenho objetiva contribuir para a discussão da natureza e aplicabilidade do instrumento de feedback em redes,nos cursos de graduação de Administração, dentro de uma proposta de avaliação interna, isto é, de auto-avaliação de cursos. Da dificuldade de realização do processo de auto-avaliação dos cursos superiores, emerge a questão-problema a ser pesquisada: em que sentido o instrumento de feedback em rede promove a qualidade da gestão de desempenho do Curso de Administração? Decide pelo estudo de caso múltiplo, de caráter descritivo e exploratório, como seu método de estudo em decorrência de três fatores: 1) a constatação de que existe pouco conhecimento acadêmico acerca do problema proposto; 2) a percepção de que a referida metodologia permite o estudo de fenômenos em profundidade no contexto; 3) a ampla difusão do feedback nas empresas brasileiras e, por outro lado, tem caráter inovador nas Instituições de Ensino Superior. Os resultados revelaram uma convergência nas pesquisadas, favoráveis à validade do método para avaliação interna.

Projetos ambientais corporativos: do gerenciamento ao sucesso / Corporate environmental projects: from management to success

Projetos ambientais corporativos bem-sucedidos implementam mudanças organizacionais e estratégias ambientais corporativas com êxito. Desta forma, o propósito desta pesquisa é compreender como o desempenho de gerenciamento de projetos se relaciona com o sucesso de projetos ambientais corporativos. Com esse intuito, foi desenvolvida uma fundamentação teórica sobre as questões ambientais enfrentadas pelas organizações e suas estratégias ambientais corporativas para endereçá-las por meio de projetos ambientais, bem como sobre gerenciamento de projetos e sucesso de projetos ambientais. Com base nesta fundamentação teórica, foi elaborada uma pesquisa do tipo survey com 142 organizações que desenvolveram projetos ambientais corporativos no Brasil. Coletou-se dados de desempenho de gerenciamento de projetos, sucesso dos projetos ambientais corporativos e caracterização da amostra que posteriormente foram analisados por meio de correlações bivariadas, análise fatorial, modelagem de regressão logística binária e testes de Kruskal-Wallis e Mann-Whitney. Primeiramente, os resultados permitiram a proposição de modelos para mensurar o desempenho de gerenciamento de projetos ambientais e avaliar o sucesso de projetos ambientais, que constituem uma ferramenta integrada para análise de projetos ambientais. Em segundo lugar, o trabalho revelou que a probabilidade de sucesso do projeto ambiental pode ser aumentada por meio de: (1) estabelecimento de parcerias; e (2) desenvolvimento de capacidade de superar dificuldades e gerar mudanças, benefícios e cultura de projeto compartilhada. Em terceiro lugar, os resultados evidenciaram: (1) menor orientação para o futuro dentre os projetos ambientais de indústrias de transformação; (2) percepção de maior importância dos projetos ambientais dentre organizações de menor porte; (3) percepção de que projetos ambientais com escopo mais amplo são maiores promotores de mudanças organizacionais; e (4) influência positiva de profissionais com maior tempo de experiência em projetos ambientais sobre o sucesso dos projetos ambientais. Conclui-se que o desenvolvimento de parcerias e capacidades organizacionais e a disponibilidade de conhecimentos tácitos e pragmáticos influenciam positivamente o sucesso de projetos ambientais corporativos no Brasil. / Successful corporate environmental projects successfully implement organizational change and corporate environmental strategies. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to understand how project management performance is related to the success of corporate environmental projects.Considering this, a theoretical framework was developed on environmental issues faced by organizations and their corporate environmental strategies to address them through environmental projects, as well as project management and environmental project success. Based on this theoretical framework, a survey was conducted with 142 organizations that developed corporate environmental projects in Brazil. Project management performance, success of corporate environmental projects and sample characterization data were collected, which were later analyzed using bivariate correlations, factorial analysis, binary logistic regression modeling, and Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests. First, the results allowed the proposal of models to measure the performance of environmental project management and to evaluate the success of environmental projects, which constitute an integrated tool for the analysis of environmental projects. Second, the work revealed that the probability of success of the environmental project can be increased by: (1) establishing partnerships; and (2) development of capability to overcome difficulties and generate changes, benefits and shared project culture. Third, the results showed: (1) less orientation for the future among the environmental projects of transformation industries; (2) perception of greater importance of environmental projects among smaller organizations; (3) perception that broader scope environmental projects are major promoters of organizational change; and (4) positive influence of professionals with more experience in environmental projects on the success of environmental projects. It is concluded that the development of partnerships and organizational capabilities and the availability of tacit and pragmatic knowledge positively influence the success of corporate environmental projects in Brazil.
