En ständig balansgång : en studie om självbestämmande ur ett personalperspektiv

Nolin, Emmi, Larsson, Sebastian January 2015 (has links)
In front of you is now a study concerning the subject of self-determination from a perspective of professionals. The study is based on a qualitative approach where empirical data was collected using semi- structuring interviews. The questions posed in this study were: How can staff working with persons with disabilities, in their professional approaches and practices while considering the individuals self-determination? When staff and the individual have different opinions on what to decide in matters concerning the individual, how then develops the autonomy of the individual? What norms and values can become dominating in the professional approach when disagreements arise between staff and the individual about what should be determined for him/her? The key finding from this study is that the staff is experiencing a difficulty in that the individual should decide for yourself while getting support and help.

Jašinauskaitė, Kristina 04 January 2007 (has links)
Summary After its Independence, Lithuania has witnessed to a considerable number of positive changes in the sphere of integration of the disabled. Still, the current situation of the disabled in Lithuania could be called paradoxical. It has reached a critical point and demands radical solutions. On the one hand, the attention and tolerance of the society towards the disabled have been augmenting; on the other hand, the care for the disabled is becoming declaratory. The main and the greatest obstacle for the integration of the disabled into society is a negative attitude towards them; while, on the contrary, a positive attitude is one of the crucial conditions for succesful integration. Although nowadays media has been showing a greater interest in the life of the disabled, the great part of society regards people with a handicap as those who have to live and work seperately. An attitude of traditional segregation of the disabled is disappearing very slowly. People with mental disability are still welcomed with an especially unfavourable attitude. Thus the object of the survey of the diploma – is an attitude towards people with mental disability; and the aim of this work – is to reveal an expression of an affirmative/optimistic attitude towards people with a mental handicap in daily social interaction. Survey tasks 1. To examine and evaluate the attitude of the workers of the day-care center towards people with mental disability; 2. To reveal how the workers manage to... [to full text]

SOCIÁLNĚ POLITICKÁ OPATŘENÍ STÁTU A JEJICH VYUŽITÍ V RODINÁCH S DÍTĚTEM S MENTÁLNÍM POSTIŽENÍM / SOCIAL POLITICAL ARRANGAMENTS OF STATE AND THEIR PROFITS IN FAMILIES WITH MENTALLY DISABLED CHILD

HNISOVÁ, Lenka January 2007 (has links)
There were many changes in the Czech social system during last years. Many possibilities for people with disabilities appeared in a state and a non-profit sector - more social benefits and social service. The only problem is in their chaotic arrangement. My thesis is concretely focused on potentialities of families with mentally disabled children. In my theoretical part I therefore describe not only mental illnesses and its stages but also a family of a disabled child and parental education. Hereafter I attend to education and socialization of individuals with a mental disability. The second part of theory targets three social principles of the social system {--} the social insurance, state social support and social welfare/care. At the end of this part I mention the significance of non profit organizations for people affected by mental disabilities. Following theoretical is the practical part which aims (and that is my work{\crq}s objective also) to determine the knowledge of parents about our social benefit schemes and support. Specifically this means to chart the current state of affairs {--} informedness functioning. Based upon these results then create an outline (benefits, services) which will help the parents to distinguish more efficiently within all services offered. The survey was carried out by questionnaires. These were intended for parents of mentally disabled children and aimed at their knowledge. The correspondents {--} parents {--} were separated into groups in accordance with their educational background. It emerged from my results that parents with elementary education are feeling well informed whilst parent with higher education do not consider themselves informed although in accordance with their answers they have a better insight into their child{\crq}s options. Generally the majority of the polled (77%) is not feeling informed. The problem is inadequate information system. Respondents also mentioned what they are lacking in most and what they would consider as being most helpful. The most common answers concerned missing comprehensive review, informative brochures and sufficiently informed staff, which I did contemplate. Based upon these results I have conceived an overview of primary options specifically designed for families with mentally disabled children. I may thus claim that both my hypothesis have been confirmed. I behold the anticipated development of my work in merging information about assigned issues with creating a review of primary options for families with a mentally disabled child. I do hope that this work will leastwise improve their awareness.

Svéprávnost a opatrovnictví z pohledu klientů a odborné veřejnosti / The Legal Capacity and Guardianship from the Perspective of Clients and Professionals.

BOROVSKÁ, Kateřina January 2018 (has links)
The topic I have chosen for my thesis is Guardianship and Legal capacity from the points of view of both clients and professional public. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a research part. The theoretical part of the thesis presents information on legal capacity, guardianship and also on the person of the guardian. A relatively large space is devoted to guardianship, thus the theoretical part includes information on, among other, appointing and selecting a guardian as well as on the guardian´s rights and obligations and surveillance of the guardian. The thesis also mentions other selected institutes of the Civil Code that can be of assistance to persons with mental disabilities, without limiting their legal capacity. Another topic of importance dealt with in the theoretical part is human rights, both in the sense of general sources of human rights and the sources of rights of persons with intellectual disabilities. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the thesis gives a brief overview of characteristics of persons with mental disabilities and the etiology of mental disability. The research part states findings of the research that was conducted by the strategy of qualitative research. The method of data collection was interrogations and semi-structured interviews. The research group included people with mental disabilities limited in their legal capacities as well as representatives of professional public who are in some way involved in the guardianship institute and who deal with this issue in their work on a daily basis. The main aim of the thesis was to find out how clients with intellectual disabilities and representatives of the professional public perceive guardianship and related issues. In addition, conducted research investigated whether clients know what role the guardian plays in their lives and whether they know their rights and obligations. Last but not least, the views of the professional public on the role of guardian in the client's life and also the experience of the professional public with the application of selected rights and obligations of clients were looked into. Results of the survey have given base to understanding how clients and the professional public perceive guardianship, what their views of rights and obligations of clients and guardians are, how demanding they find to be a guardian and last but not least, what role a guardian should play in their ward´s life.
