Environmentální migrace - reflexe segmentu migrační politiky z pohledu globální spravedlnosti a křesťanské sociální etiky / Environmental Migration - Reflection of the Migration Policy Segment from the Point of View of Global Justice and Christian Social Ethics

Váňa Jirků, Tereza January 2021 (has links)
The thesis aims to familiarize readers with the basic concepts of environmental migration at such a pace as to enable discussion and reflection on the subject. The first chapter is introductory and defines basic concepts such as migration, environmental migration, refugee. The second chapter deals with environmental migration. Environmental migration is nothing new. Natural and human-induced disasters have been the cause of migration in the past and are likely to be the cause of migration. The third chapter deals with legislation on environmental migration. It examines refugee law, human rights law, or international humanitarian law. It points out that the existing legislation is not sufficiently developed. So far, there is no legally recognized definition of an environmental migrant. The fourth chapter looks at migration as a moral question, primarily in the optics of the social doctrine of the Church, the universal determination of goods, solidarity, and the direction towards the integral good. The fifth chapter deals with the little discussed or neglected ethical issues associated with migration. The last chapter is devoted to possible suggestions and solutions to environmental migration. It describes the most common proposals such as broadening refugee definition, enhancing disaster protection...

Regionální a sídelní preference obyvatelstva Česka / Regional and Settlement Preferences of the Czech Population

Štefánková, Marie January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to cover the subject of regional and settlement preferences of the Czech population. The study is not only focused on current situation description but it offers time development overview as well. The study describes evolution of the regional and settlement preferences and life values of the Czech population after year 1989. Method used is the representative questioner research done by the Public Opinion Research Centre of the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague. The research was supported by Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports No. MSM 0021620831 "Geographical systems and risk processes in context global changes and European integration" project. The study evaluates regional and settlement preferences under the ideal circumstances and based on respondents actual settlement situation and regional affiliation. From the results of the study the stratification of the regional and settlement preferences with the respondent age are highlighted. Preferences of metropolitan cities and the Prague's region decrees with the respondent age. Statistically insignificant appears the gender variation and the education level in regional and settlement preferences. The...

Češi ve Velké Británii - Anatomie potenciálu sociálních remitencí / Czechs in the United Kingdom - Anatomy of the potential of social remittances

Letošníková, Michaela January 2020 (has links)
This master thesis examines migration issues, focuses on the potential of social remittances, and explores the links between social and financial remittances. The qualitative approach to the research uses the method of semi-structured and in-depth interviews to collect the data in the context of Czechs living in the United Kingdom. This research falls under the concept of transnationalism, uses transnational lenses for exploring processes, and is mainly based upon the concept of social remittances, thus is concerned with flows of norms, know-how, systems of practice, ideas, or social capital from one country to another. This thesis also builds on the expanded conceptualization of social remittances by other researchers. Linking social and financial remittances is done by using the concept of remittance scripts and related activities of migrants. Verbal data from the interviews were analyzed using primarily the inducted method and the method of content analysis. The analyzed results meet the aims of the research and bring a deeper understanding of the potential of social remittances. The factors influencing the potential of social remittances are mainly the work environment of migrants, the importance of unskilled positions, social skills, or intensive transnational links. The key role is also...

Interakce migrujících obřích planet a malých těles sluneční soustavy / Interactions of migrating giant planets and small solar-system bodies

Chrenko, Ondřej January 2015 (has links)
Changes of semimajor axes of giant planets, which took place 4 billion years ago and evolved the Solar System towards its present state, affected various populations of minor Solar-System bodies. One of these populations was a group of dynamically stable asteroids in the 2:1 mean-motion resonance with Jupiter which reside in two islands of the phase space, denoted A and B, and exhibit lifetimes comparable to the age of the Solar System. The origin of stable asteroids has not been explained so far. Our main goal is to create a viable hypothesis of their origin. We update the resonant population and its physical properties on the basis of up-to-date observational data. Using an N-body model with seven giant planets and the Yarkovsky effect included, we demonstrate that the depletion of island A is faster compared to island B. We then investigate: (i) survivability of primordial resonant asteroids and (ii) capture of the population during planetary migration, using a recently described scenario with an escaping fifth giant planet and a jumping-Jupiter instability. We employ simulations with prescribed migration, smooth late migration and we statistically evaluate the results using dynamical maps. We also model collisions during the last 4 billion years. We conclude that the long-lived group was created by a...

Hodnocení fragmentace krajiny ve vztahu k dálkovým migracím / Assessment of landscape fragmentation in relation to long-distance migration

Šťovíčková, Kateřina January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with the fragmentation of the landscape as a result of highway infrastructure and human settlement. The aim is to analyze the current level of fragmentation and permeability of the landscape for large mammals in the region of Moravska Brana, which is a significant migration area between the West Carpathian and Hercynian sub-provinces. The results confirm the increased degree of fragmentation in this area due to the accumulation of several line barriers from the Northeast to the Southwest, and it particularly shows the negative impact of Highway D1. By comparing the degree of fragmentation with supra- regional corridors, this thesis evaluates the Territorial system of ecological stability (TSES) and the habitat model of large carnivores. This thesis shows that the current migration corridors provide only a fragmented landscape with unsuitable habitat. While making a comprehensive analysis of the permeability of the D1 motorway, the effectiveness of the migration corridor between Klimkovice and Dolni Ujezd was evaluated with an emphasis on monitoring the ecoduct of Suchdol nad Odrou, which is used primarily by medium-sized mammals. The results show that large mammals in this area have found the most appropriate migration corridor a long elevated road through the river valleys. Key...

Novodobí reemigranti z rumunského Banátu, jejich očekávání spojená s přesídlením, adaptace a integrace v Česku / The modern-days re-emigrants from the Romanian Banat, their expectations linked to resettlement, adaptation and integration in Czechia

Kresl, Zdeněk January 2015 (has links)
First Czech villages were founded in the region of Banat, Romania, in the first half of the 19th century. The original impetus had come from the administration who intended to populate the mountainous regions of the then military border. To this day a none too numerous community of Czechs surrounded by other nations have kept their original Czech traditions, speak exclusively Czech, and proudly profess their roots. In the course of the 20th century these Czech villages were hit by three waves of re-emigration which resulted in a portion of the locals relocating to their ancestral country. The last wave of re-emigration began in 1989, following the reopening of the borders and the simplification of the whole process of relocation, and it essentially continues to this day. Young people in particular come to the Czech Republic hoping to find here a better job, higher wages and better quality of life, which goes hand in hand with it. These expectations are often exaggerated and unrealistic, though. The first part of this thesis presents a theoretical framework of the whole work, and a historical overview of the Czech community and the individual waves of re-emigration which affected it. Attention will also be paid to the continuous interest in this community on the part of the Czech authorities and...

Tendence a význam migrace zahraničních studentů především z nečlenských zemí EU za účelem studia do ČR a Evropy. / Trends and Significance of the Migration of Foreign Students mainly from non-EU Countries in the Czech Republic and Europe.

Zábranská, Agáta January 2015 (has links)
in English The diploma Thesis "Trends and Significance of the Migration of Foreign Students mainly from non-EU Countries in the Czech Republic and Europe." discusses the phenomenon of migration for study purposes from non-EU countries (mainly Russia, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina) in the Czech Republic. The percentage of immigrants coming to study in Czech Republic has been growing and it constitutes an important tool for a positive development of the international cooperation. The aim of this work is to describe and analyze, based on the questionnaire method and specialized texts, the reasons for the choice of this type of migration, underling the administrative, economic and social issues that might be involved. Furthermore the objective is to evaluate the participation of qualified foreigners in the Czech labor market as well as to determine, presenting specific cases collected by a qualitative method, the human, cultural and social added value that they might gain by being awarded with an European diploma. Finally, in order to study the phenomenon from an anthropological perspective, the study attempts a comparative analysis of the academic mobility as a mean of temporary circular migration, enabling an optmized prediction of the current trends and tendencies while considering the issues of...

Současná pracovní migrace do České republiky: Syntetická studie modelů integrace imigrantů ze třetích zemí / Current labour migration to the Czech Republic: The synthetic study of integration models of the third country nationals

Střechová, Veronika January 2015 (has links)
TITLE: CURRENT LABOUR MIGRATION TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC: THE SYNTHETIC STUDY OF INTEGRATION MODELS OF THE THIRD COUNTRY NATIONALS The aim of the thesis is to describe a process of an integration of eight groups of third country nationals in Czech society by using findings of several researches conducted in Czechia since the late nineties of the 20th century. The information about immigrants from Russia, Ukraine, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Arabic countries and about immigrants from countries of Sub-Saharan Africa are structured in accordance with a concept of integration as a multidimensional process, suggested by Friedrich Heckmann and Wolfgang Bosswick. The work reveals a high internal diversity of researched groups in terms of a type of a residence permit which individuals possess, socioeconomic attributes, phase in a life cycle of individual, relationship of individual to the country of origin and his or her future plans about settlement in Czechia. These diversities are reflected in a number of different patterns and levels of integration of compatriots in a spatial, structural, cultural, interactive and identification dimension of integration. There is a research perspective change in the closing part of the thesis. This change is done in order to highlight those kinds of migrants'...

Etiopané v Praze / Ethiopians in Prague

Šobáňová, Hana January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with the Ethiopian migration to the Czech Republic, especially to Prague. The aim of this work is to present the Ethiopian migration, to identify the origin and the reasons of an individual migrant for coming to the Czech Republic, to learn about their adaptation to the Czech environment and to find out what are their prospects and aspirations for the future. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first introductory chapter contains motivation, criticism of the sources, the structure of work and terminology. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of Ethiopia, 20th century history, present time, selected Ethiopian nations and two cases of the most common Ethiopian's migration. Afterwards we focus on the Czech (Slovak) - Ethiopian relations, establishment of diplomatic, cultural and economic relations and the statistics of the number of Ethiopians in the Czech Republic. In the research part, based on participant observation and interviews I describe the course of the Ethiopian migration from the initial motivation, through language training, study, work, relationship to the Czech Republic and Ethiopia, to their future plans.
