Andersson, Max January 2016 (has links)
In the 1990s the Swedish Armed Forces (SAF) adopted the concept of outsourcing for the provision of certain services. With an increasing amount of services being outsourced to civilian companies, there is little research regarding which types of services are being outsourced by SAF, and how it´s motivated. One service being partially outsourced is the guarding of military bases throughout Sweden. With an on-going debate by researchers on the concept of military outsourcing in expeditionary forces, this study takes a domestic view of outsourcing. This thesis seeks to investigate the concept of military outsourcing, applied to the case of base guards in Sweden. The analysis proves that several reasons or justifications for outsourcing base guarding are presented by those responsible for security in Swedish military units. The analysis also concludes that guard services is viewed different between headquarter level and regimental level. Although considered not a core activity, due to high interdependence with core activities and the requirement for firm-specific competence regimental representatives show more reluctance towards outsourcing guard services.

The aim of this study is to examine the climate issue. More precisely climate demonstrations around the world with emphasis on the people who participates in them. The study also aims to understand why these people choose to take part in the demonstrations. Also, if there is a difference in motives between the people who participate in relation to when they are born. The material this study is examining is based on several demonstrations around the world in different countries and different cities. The material was collected between 2009 and 2013 at different demonstrations that concerned the subject of climate in some way. The result of the study shows some support for the theoretical frame that was used but it also shed some light on the fact that the result also perhaps is not strong enough to generalize to the rest of the population. The study shows that there is some difference between generations and their motives to participate in the demonstrations although they are not very big differences. The study did however have some problems with the theory and its ability to apply to the studies participants and shed light on possible studies in the future.

Nyckelord: Motiv, kompetenser, digitaliseringsprocess och arbetsmetoder / The world is constantly changing, and technology is constantly evolving. This has meantthat accounting firms have to adapt to the changes in order not to risk being outcompeted. This study is based on identifying the motives for carrying out a digitalization process ataccounting firms, even though previous research has shown that there are disadvantagesto it. The purpose of this study is to describe and gain an understanding of small andmedium-sized accounting firms' motives for undergoing a digitalization process of theirworking methods. In order to fulfill the purpose of the study and answer the study's research questions, aqualitative study is performed with a deductive approach. The developed theoreticalframe of reference constitutes the starting point of the study, and it is then compared withthe collected empirical data. The empirical material is collected through semi-structuredinterviews at small and medium-sized accounting firms located in Norrbotten. Bothmanagers and employees are interviewed, which means that the study can shed light onboth perspectives. The results and conclusions of the study emphasize that the motive for accounting firmsto choose to undergo a digitalization process of their working methods is to not risk beingoutcompeted from the market, this to meet society's expectations. Society demands digitalworking methods and digital working methods contribute to more efficient work and timesavings. This study shows that increased technical skills are relevant but are notconsidered an obstacle to switching to digital working methods. The accounting firms'working methods have changed, what was previously paper based is now available indigital form. Key words: Motives, competencies, digitalization process and working methods

This bachelor thesis sets to find new ways of composing with a systematical use of musical motifs. The main purpose was to add a structured and systematical approach to the process of composition to reduce the necessity of inspiration and thereby be able to compose more consistently. The project started out by finding concrete ways to create and develop motific ideas by analyzing how motific development is done in existing music of different genres and by reading literature on the subject. I then used these ideas to compose short etudes, each with a different approach of the use of motifs and motific development. These methods subsequently resulted in a concert with seven original compositions. I reflected upon how the use of motifs affect the way I compose and in what way it affects the compositions as a whole and how I approach the compositions musically through the guitar. I concluded that it was substantially harder to compose longer compositions than short etudes by using solely these methods. And instead of seeing it as a way to reduce the necessity of inspiration maybe use it to spark inspiration. / <p>Medverkande musiker:</p><p>Victoria Sandström (sång), Linnea Jonsson (trumpet), Agnes Darelid (trombon), Gabriel Holmertz (gitarr), August Eriksson (kontrabas), Henrik Jäderberg (trummor)</p>

<p>19-12-20</p>

As Written in the Flesh. The Human Body as Medium of Cultural Identity and Memory in Fiction from New Zealand / As Written in the Flesh. Der menschliche Körper als Mittler kultureller Identität und Erinnerung in Fiktionstexten aus NeuseelandSchaub, Kerstin January 2012 (has links) (PDF)
This dissertation focuses on selected novels written by contemporary indigenous authors from Aotearoa/New Zealand and examines the fictional imagination of the human body as a medium of cultural identity and memory. The novels discussed are Keri Hulme’s »The Bone People« (1984), »Nights in the Gardens of Spain« (1995) and »The Uncle’s Story« (2000) by Witi Ihimaera as well as James George’s »Hummingbird« (2003). In order to further decolonisation processes and to come to terms with the colonial past and the complexity of present realities, the fictional works position the human body as an active entity in the negotiation of specific cultural epistemologies. This project explores the narrative translation of corporeality that is used to locate alternative concepts of identity and cultural memory. Taking into account indigenous perspectives, this thesis makes use of the current theoretical approaches presented by pragmatism and affect theory in order to analyse the investment of the novels in feeling and the reciprocal relationship between text and corporeality depicted by the narratives. On the one hand, the novels aim to undermine oppressive and marginalising categories by placing particular emphasis on »sensuous gaps« in the text. On the other hand, the narratives intend to construct alternative identities and evoke specific aspects of indigenous histories and knowledge by imagining the human body in terms of »sensuous inscription«. The novels portray individuals who act from a place in-between different cultures, and articulate a desire to dissolve polarities and emphasise individual and cultural transformation as a formative element in the creation of complex identities and new perspectives. Betrachtet werden Keri Hulmes »The Bone People« (1984), die beiden Romane »Nights in the Gardens of Spain« (1995) und »The Uncle’s Story« (2000) von Witi Ihimaera sowie James Georges »Hummingbird« (2003).
