Clarifying the scope of pre-5th century C.E. Christian interpolation in Josephus' Antiquitates Judaica (c. 94 C.E.) / Nicholas Peter Legh Allen

Allen, Nicholas Peter Legh January 2015 (has links)
This research project concerns itself with the three disputed passages of Christian import as preserved in extant manuscripts of the AJ (Ἰουδαϊκὴ Ἀρχαιολογία a.k.a. Antiquitates Judaicae), viz.: AJ, XVIII, 3, 3 / 63 (i.e. the so-called Testimonium Flavianum), AJ, XVIII, 5, 2 / 116 -119 (i.e. the references to John the Baptist) and AJ, XX, 9, 1 / 200 - 203 (i.e. the references to James the brother of Jesus). Within the context of contemporary historicity research outcomes, and employing an interpretist/constructivist episteme, a series of critical analyses was undertaken aimed at verifying to what degree the three passages in question may be deemed to be in any way authentic and/or historically reliable. The result of the investigation proves beyond reasonable doubt that no reliable extra-biblical/scriptural accounts exist to support the historical existence of, inter alia, Jesus of Nazareth, James the Just or John the Baptist. Certainly, no such accounts ever appeared in Josephus’ original texts. Furthermore, and most importantly, the three passages are confirmed to be total forgeries initiated in the first four centuries of the Common Era most likely by Origen and Eusebius respectively. / PhD (Greek), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2015

This work has as main goals: 1. describe and discuss transcriptions of traditional Brazilian Tangos for marimba; 2. to make an interpretative study on these pieces. It utilized two pieces, composed in different compositional periods of Ernesto Nazareth: Rayon D'or (1892) and Garoto (1916). The process of transcription and adaptation is contextualized with a brief history of the development and popularization of the marimba, and overview of the importance of the use of transcriptions in the early formation of its own repertoire. In addition to the transcriptions of these tangos is included an interpretive study which deals with both the resolution of technical difficulties and the interpretative decisions about aspects such as control of the timbre, phrasing, choice of sticking, among others / Mestrado / Praticas Interpretativas / Mestre em Música

Trilogie Ježíš Nazaretský Benedikta XVI. z pohledu fundamentální teologie / Trilogy Jesus of Nazareth by Benedict XVI from the perspective of fundamental theology

Kubíček, Ludvík January 2015 (has links)
Trilogy Jesus of Nazareth, Pope Benedict XVI from the perspective of fundamental theology In this thesis, the author aims to finding interesting topics in the trilogy, Jesus of Nazareth of Pope Benedict XVI and their contribution to fundamental theology. The author takes into account the other sources from theological work of Joseph Ratzinger and his production as Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI. Work represents the view of Joseph Ratzinger on the use of empirical methods, particularly the historical-critical method in the study of the Scripture, the historical credibility of the Gospel of John and his authorship and the internal process of the text in Church. The thesis also discusses the benefits of the Gospel of John for internal knowledge of Jesus Christ and draws conclusions from the empirical reductionism for understanding Jesus' divinity. The author then discusses the topic of truth and love as the possibility of recognizing their source in God. Marginally mentions the role of the Virgin Mary and her helping to the study of Scripture and deepen relations between Christians and Christ.

No. of bitstreams: 1 TESE Bruno Marques Silva DEPÓSITO FINAL.pdf: 4042564 bytes, checksum: 243996626fda9c5bacfa824dfae87868 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-08-19 / The thesis intends to carry out a biographical analysis of Colonel PM Carlos Magno Nazareth Cerqueira, with a professional and intellectual profile. His name represented one of the most important intellectual expressions of a group of officers 'reformist' engaged in reforms in the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro State (PMERJ) in government of Leonel Brizola (1983-95). Attentive to the new international policing strategies, these new managers, led by Nazareth Cerqueira, redefined the role of the corporation from concepts such as prevention, community integration and legality, facing the military police as a 'public service'. The general commander of PMERJ tried to build a new regulatory framework in the administration of public security in the state of Rio de Janeiro and in particular the ostensible police work. Cerqueira, to seek the adequacy of police activity and objectives of communities, fought the traditional social control policies, providing concrete institutional contours to the brizolista human rights speech. The biggest challenge of this policy work was to disciplinary the policy themselves on a new basis. His command, when testing the Community model of policing in Rio de Janeiro, constituted an important contribution of pedetistas governments for Brazilian democracy in the 1980s and 90s. Colonel Cerqueira’s ideas and projects are fundamental to understand the continuities and changes in the treatment of public safety. The concepts and methods offered by Political History and the Intellectual History were used to recover his significant contribution in the field of ideas and political disputes.

Carvalho, Henri de 26 May 2009 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Henri de Carvalho.pdf: 6251172 bytes, checksum: 12bccd7000e389cbdf53fc09e23d54b4 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-05-26 / The objective of this work is to insert the music esthetics of Mário de Andrade in a brazilian historical context, with a intriguing social transformation, taken into account the political and cultural transformations in the first half of twenty centuty It can be admitted that Mário de Andrade is a man who goes through different experiences related to modernity. Therefore, to understand his work it will be necessary to comprehend the establishment of the relations among modernity, historical experience and modernism. It has been as a reference the music composed by himself, something that seems to be the best way, having as criterion of study the emanate reading from the elements of his work, they demonstrate his main influences and intentions, historically warrantable in a country that has in its economic and social development features of colonialism. The duality of feeling provided for the experience in the modernity is between the threshold of living a revolutionary and materialistic progressive age, being at the same time present in a world that is not entirely materially and spiritually modern, exactly for attending to the needs and maintenance of exclusive interests of capitalism, and not to solve human nor social problems, historically present. Mário de Andrade romantism is in the simbolism psychological force, in militant art for a national cause, in the research of terrantesa music and in the systematical use of ithis like raw material to bring about erudit music. These three points have appeared in Mário de Andrade syntomatic expressions of a social organization that showed spirtually and materially, to take and carry with itself the real impressions of historical specification of economic development very late of capitalism in Brasil / O objetivo deste trabalho é inserir a propositura estético-ideológica musical de Mário de Andrade num contexto histórico do Brasil na primeira metade do século XX.

[en] WHAT IS GOD?: THEOLOGICAL AND PASTORAL REFLEXION ON THE ADULT FAITH IN THE GOD JESUS, AS AGAINST THE FAITH IN THE GOD OF CHILDISH OMNIPOTENCE, ACCORDING TO D MORANO / [pt] QUE DEUS?: REFLEXÃO TEOLÓGICO-PASTORAL ACERCA DA FÉ ADULTA NO DEUS DE JESUS EM CONTRAPOSIÇÃO À FÉ NO DEUS DA ONIPOTÊNCIA INFANTIL, CONFORME DOMÍNGUEZ MORANO

MARIVANI DE OLIVEIRA DE AQUINO PEREIRA 22 February 2006 (has links)
[en] The text discusses, firstly, the claim of psychoanalysis unto the Christian faith, as per the Spanish psychoanalyst and theologist Domínguez Morano. The generating conflict of the criticism of religion is presented: the human being clings to religion aiming to ease the anguish from guilt or to fill the need for protection and solace. The result is the God of childish omnipotence. Secondly, already within the field of theological reflexion, the attempt is to identify the actual meaning of the adult relationship with the God of Jesus of Nazareth, as from the experience lived by Him. The reflexion is based upon the thoughts of the same Domínguez Morano, enlightened by the contribution of other contemporary theologists who study the subject. Lastly, a few clues are presented to the service of the Christian life and of the pastoral, with the objective of overcoming the religious egotism and in the actual living of the individual opening to the God by Jesus revealed.

[pt] O SILÊNCIO EM JESUS DE NAZARÉ: REDESCOBRINDO O DEUS SILENCIOSO PARA O DISCIPULADO HOJE / [en] THE SILENCE IN JESUS OF NAZARETH: REDISCOVERING THE SILENT GOD FOR DISCIPLESHIP TODAY

06 December 2021 (has links)
[en] This dissertation, titled: The Silence in Jesus of Nazareth: rediscovering the silent God for discipleship today was developed aiming to understand the meaning of silence in Jesus life, so one can discover a new image of God, based on silence, one that can be applied in the dynamics of discipleship today. Reviewing the bibliographic references one can realize that Christian Churches need to return to the practice of silence in all different forms of living it therefore rediscovering the silent God of Jesus, and why Jesus asked for silence, answered with silence and listened to the muted response of God in his life, demonstrating that this must be the way in his disciple s life.

Apoštol Filip, jeden z Dvanácti / Apostle Philip, One of the Twelve

Mrňa, Jaroslav January 2018 (has links)
PhDr. Jaroslav Mrňa, Ph.D. Katolická teologie Název diplomové práce v anglickém jazyce: Apostle Philip, one of the Twelve. Abstrakt v anglickém jazyce: The life story of Jesus' disciple Philip is still mysterious for our knowledge, for in sources his person appears scarcely as an individual but mostly as a part of the community of the Twelve. Diploma Thesis Apostle Philip, one of the Twelve, deals with the life and mission of the Apostle Philip, as it is attested especially by canonical biblical sources. Besides an overview of the occurrence of the name Philip in the biblical and non-biblical sources, the work offers a literary and linguistic analysis of relevant pericopes from the synoptic gospels, the Gospel of John and the Acts of the Apostles, whose conclusions serve to detailed historical and theological interpretation of individual texts, focusing on topics related in particular to the origin, the mission, the mentality, the social status and the action of the Apostle Philip within the Circle of the Twelve. Attention of diploma thesis is also paid to the presence of this figure in non-biblical sources and also to his connection with the person of the same name, the deacon-evangelist Philip.
