Improving lives by interorganizational collaboration : A collaboration analysis on a social development projectLundström, Anna January 2012 (has links)
To organize and implement social development projects through interorganizational collaboration is common, but lack empirical studies from a psychological perspective. The study´s aim was to make a collaboration analysis on the implementing actors within a social development project, to understand how the collaboration was functioning. The study took place within a project for marginalized groups in Tanzania, arranged by a Swedish NGO and implemented by interorganizational collaboration. Eight participants were interviewed on six areas: Environment, Membership characteristics, Process and Structure, Communication, Purpose, and Resources. The findings highlight the complexity of interorganizational collaboration. The studied collaborative network is overall working in the same direction, but has both functional and dysfunctional areas where the dysfunctional need to be improved for the collaboration to work well. The study indicates that interorganizational collaboration brings benefits for social development projects, and the six areas studied seem to cover essential areas of interorganizational collaboration.

Neįgaliųjų, dalyvaujančių nevyriausybinės organizacijos veiklose, subjektyvių patirčių analizė / Analysis of people with disabilities subjective experiences of participation in nongovernmental organizationRuškys, Adolfas 12 December 2011 (has links)
Theoretical analysis of scientific literature sources showed that social participation is construed as multiple construct covering different-form-based active participation of a person in social life. There exists a problem of the definition of NGO (non-governmental organization); however, NGO is most frequently defined as any non-profit organization uniting people in pursuit of common goals. Scientific literature focuses on the positive role of NGOs in encouragement of social participation of the disabled and in solving various social problems of this group of people. Based on the theoretical analysis, living theory is person’s explanation about the educational impact on the self-education, learning from others and learning from social environments. Social pedagogy and living theory may be of related educational origin, of life-long learning duration, development of knowledge of narrative social pedagogy and aspects of reflections.

The Use of Collaboration in Nongovernmental Organization Public Policy AdvocacyBarrack, Randy 30 November 2009 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to explore the definitions, benefits, and challenges of collaborations as used by nongovernmental organizations in their pursuit of public policy advocacy, and more specifically the role of NGOs as advocates in the public policy process. A qualitative design using a case study approach was used to examine the collaborative strategies and techniques used by the 12 statewide education NGO members of the Virginia Education Coalition in pursuit of their advocacy goals in public policy. The direction of this study was guided by the following questions: (1) What is collaboration, and when, how, and why it is used by nongovernment organizations to pursue advocacy goals? (2) What advocacy roles do nongovernment organizations play in public policy? (3) What collaborative strategies are used by nongovernment organizations to pursue advocacy goals? This study incorporates observations, in-depth interviews and a review of written documents. An interview guide consisting of 23 questions with probes and follow-ups was used as the primary data collection instrument. Each NGO was a case study in this multicase design. The study reveals that collaborations seem to exist in large part because of the personal relationships of NGO representatives and that advocacy positions and goals are pursued when commonality or consensus is achieved among collaborators. The subordination of individual interests to the interests of the Coalition is addressed in the study. The study found that NGOs enter into collaborations not only when it is mutually beneficial, but also in support of a greater cause. The need of NGOs in the Coalition to speak with a single voice far outweighs their desire to push their individual policy advocacy goals. This study contributes to the nonprofit sector in the literature and specifically addresses nonprofit collaboration and how collaborative strategies and techniques are used by NGOs to influence public policy. The findings of this study are useful for (1) NGO leaders to understand how to cultivate collaboration among leaders in other organizations, (2) the VEC to better understand their own member organizations, (3) coalitions in general to gain insights into the collaborative process.

國際非政府組織的責信 / The accountability of international nongovernmental organizations趙紫軒 Unknown Date (has links)

Ekonomická analýza neziskové organizace / Economic analysis of non-profit organizationToráčová, Denisa January 2014 (has links)
The goal of the thesis is to provide an economic analysis of Klubíčko Beroun, o.p.s. To be successful, a nongovernmental organizations have to plan with a good strategy and analyze both outer and inner environments. The NGOs receive finances mostly from donors and have to be responsible for using them efficiently. Therefore, NGOs should not undervalue the economic aspect of their activities and should pay attention to the financial indicators. In my work, I focus on the analysis of the strategy and on the financial analysis. The thesis consists of two parts: the theoretical-methodological part, and the analytical part. In the first part, the basic theoretical apparatus is introduced, and it is consequently used in the second part. The results of the analysis of the strategy and the financial analysis serve as a basis for the SWOT analysis and for the formulation of the strategy for Klubíčko Beroun, o.p.s.

Chung, Ching-yu Unknown Date (has links)
(NGOs and the Political Development of the Third World)一書探討的NGO與第三世界國家政治發展的關係。
The paper attempts to explore related issue that Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Taiwan participating in the activities of ‘World Health Organization’ (WHO). In terms of literature review and theory approach, this paper examines why NGOs involved in global issue, and explores NGOs appearance cause and related basic theory. However, WHO is an inter-governmental organization composed of a number of member state, so far Taiwan couldn’t still be allowed to be a member of WHO. Based on qualitative research it also examines NGOs how to participate in such an intergovernmental organization, there are three main analyzing aspects.
First, this paper intends to discuss the role and position of a civil organization concerning how to participate in WHO meeting and activities. Second, some of the NGOs discussed here directly provide strategies to attend international policy in WHO areas such as health, and human aid. Third, the diverse relations between NGOs and government institution may be formed with participating different processes of international action. Furthermore, we discuss the opportunities and limitations on participating actions of NGOs in Taiwan.
