Musikknotasjonens formidlingsevne : og dens påvirkning på utøverens innstudering og interpretasjon / Communication proficiency in music notation : and the effects it has on the musician’s practice and interpretation

Tord Hagbarth, Bremnes January 2020 (has links)
Denne oppgaven utforsker forbedringspotensialet i musikknotasjonen til to samtidsmusikk komposisjoner. Til slutt drøfter cellisten hvilken forskjell endringene gjorde. / This thesis explores the possibilities of improvement in the musical notation of two pieces of contemporary music. The work is viewed through a classical trained cellist with experience in contemporary music. The cellist examines the problems encountered during rehearsal of the compositions and tries to find the root of the problems through principles of design, notation and perceptual psychology. A new version of the score is formed through dialogs between the cellist and the composers. The cellist discusses in the end whether the changes had an effect or not.

You have to work with what the computer has: music software affordances and student compositions

Pondaco, Joseph James 24 November 2020 (has links)
Limitations of graphical user interfaces, a program’s designed purpose, and other software development factors lead to perceived affordances and constraints in computer program functionality (Bell, 2015). Perceived affordances are functions the user knows exist, and constraints are limitations or restrictions to functionality (Norman, 2013). The perceived affordances and constraints of music creation programs may impact student compositions in many ways and have yet to be thoroughly investigated. The purpose of this study was to explore what effects students perceive music creation programs’ affordances and constraints have on their musical composing processes and final compositions. I interviewed, observed, and analyzed compositions from six students, ages 15-20, who had used music creation programs to compose. I used process and in vivo coding on these data to write descriptions of each student that highlighted their backgrounds, musical experiences, and how each student perceived the affordances and constraints in relation to their composing and compositions. I then used modified grounded theory analytical procedures to derive overarching themes from across all data. The students had difficulty describing how the affordances and constraints of the music creation software affected their composing and compositions. When students were able to describe program effects, these influences varied. The common effects were that the programs afforded the students testing for music ideas using the many available sounds and the students’ final compositions were a product of, or in spite of, those available sounds.

Performativní zprostředkování a interpretace / Mezi návodem a dokumentací, mezi scénářem a záznamem / Performative meditation and interpretation / Between manual and documentation, between script and record

Helia De Felice, Jennifer Unknown Date (has links)

Návrhové vzory v paralelních a distribuovaných systémech / Design Patterns for Parallel and Distributed Systems

Jurnečka, Peter Unknown Date (has links)
This Ph.D. thesis describes proposed notation and method for working with parallel design patterns, which allowes proposing of automatic corrections to existing parallel source code with help of refactoring. In order to define the proposed notation, this work must cover areas of static code analysis, formal description of parallel design patterns and refactoring. Static code analysis is used to analyse the existing parallel source code for definition of places where you want to insert specified design pattern. Formal description of design pattern allows you to automatically apply the pattern to the existing source code. Finally, refactoring allows you to edit an existing source code without changing its functionality. The first part is devoted to the description of the current status in these three areas e.g. code analysis, design patterns and refactoring. The second part is devoted to a description of the methodology and experimental verification of its deployment.

Arguing Assurance in Trusted Execution Environments using Goal Structuring Notation / Argumentera assurans i trusted execution environment med goal structuring notation

Cole, Nigel January 2021 (has links)
A trusted execution environment (TEE) is an isolated environment used for trusted execution. TEE solutions are usually proprietary and specific for a certain hardware specification, thereby limiting developers that use those TEEs. A potential solution to this issue is the use of open-source alternatives such as the TEE framework Keystone and the Reduced Instruction Set Computer V (RISC-V) hardware. These alternatives are rather young and are not as well established as the variants developed by ARM and Intel. To this end, the assurance in Keystone and RISC-V are analysed by studying a remote attestation assurance use case using the goal structuring notation (GSN) method. The aim is to investigate how GSN can be utilised to build assurance cases for TEEs on RISC-V. This thesis presents a process of how GSNs can be created to argue assurance for a TEE solution. Furthermore, Keystone operates under a specific threat model with made assumptions that may have a large impact depending on the use case. Therefore, Keystone is analysed to understand whether the framework mitigates existing vulnerabilities in TEEs. It is concluded that GSN is a viable method for arguing assurance in TEEs, providing great freedom in the creation of the GSN model. The freedom is also its weakness since the argument composition has a high impact on the argument. Furthermore, we conclude that Keystone mitigates multiple known vulnerabilities primarily through made assumptions in its threat model. These cases need to be considered by developers utilising Keystone to determine whether or not the assumptions are valid for their use case.

Credit Rating Agencies / Agences de notations

Trouillet, Julien 13 December 2017 (has links)
Credit rating agencies have recently been under a lot of scrutiny. Their responsibility in the last financial crisis has been questioned. They received much attention from the media. The credit rating agencies have been blamed for their too generous ratings before the crisis and also for being too severe during the European debt crisis. In this thesis, after an overlook of the recent literature, I look at two specific issues related to their activity: • What issues arise when public information is released by a private entity on financial markets? • Can reputation explains why a credit rating agency can be caught underrating (respectively overrating)

DDC in Europa.

Umstätter, Walther 30 October 2008 (has links)

Efficient Modeling of Hierarchical Dialog Flows for Multi-Channel Web Applications

Book, Matthias, Gruhn, Volker 12 November 2018 (has links)
In Web-based applications, most user interactions take the form of navigating between Web pages. The structure of the navigation model thus has a strong impact on a Web application's usability. However, specifying a user-friendly navigation model for complex applications can be time-consuming, especially when designing for multiple presentation channels. We therefore present the formal semantics of the dialog flow notation (DFN) that provides constructs for the design of modular navigation models, and especially focus on constructs that reduce the specification redundancy within and between channels, thus reducing the design effort for Web-based user interfaces
