Sök- och resultatmönster för svensk sjöbefälsutbildning mellan 2008 och 2018 : – och dess påverkan på framtida sjöbefälspopulation

Beijer, Per January 2020 (has links)

Viksten, Sebastian, Raufi, Masood January 2020 (has links)
Creating the websites was done to increase methods of reaching out to new customers and let existing customers to order more comfortably by viewing the restaurants menu online and have the availability to order with home delivery. This was an easy choice considering most of the shopping is done online. The design and development of Rosana Restaurang & Bar’s website is made with the help of Wix. Before Wix was chosen it was planned to create the website with CSS and HTML, this turned out to be way too complex and that is when Wix was chosen instead. The website was built with the help of their function library that was later configured appropriately. Serviceförmedlingen website was made in CSS, HTML, PHP and Javascript. Where CSS was chosen for styling, HTML for the core of the website, PHP for the contact form with a mail function and Javascript for animations. Rosana Restaurang och Bar now has the possibility for customers to reserve tables online, receive orders and get auto-prints of orders, there is also possibility for deliveries of the food ordered online. Serviceförmedlingen has the possibility for customers to get in contact via the contact form, telephone or by mail. The contact info exists at the bottom of the page if the customer would be interested to contact the Serviceförmedlingen directly. The budget for this work was about 3200kr, though there are some costs that happens every month or every year.

A digital native or snowflake? : The perceptions of job satisfaction by millennial engineers in Sweden.

Bakhshi, Betty January 2020 (has links)
Millennials are a generation mentioned frequently both in research and in popular media. Popular media often describes the millennials as disloyal, sensitive and difficult. The scholarly research regarding millennials is largely based on generation cohort, which is a concept that each generation has specific characteristics. These stereotypes have actual consequences on organizations and society. This thesis uses generational cohort theory, applied it to millennial engineers in Sweden. A study by Kultalahti and Viitala (2014) investigated job satisfaction for millennials by applying Herzberg two–model theory. Herzberg two–model theory explains that two factors exist for job satisfaction, one factor which is motivational factor which increase job satisfaction. The second factor which is described as hygiene factors can only lower job dissatisfaction. This thesis will be based on the work  by Kultalahti and Viitala (2014) but will focus on millennial engineers in Sweden. The thesis will investigate millennial stereotype applied to engineers in Sweden. The thesis will include a literature review which contains relevant theories regarding millennials, job satisfaction and other motivational theories. The data collection is done by conducting 20 interviews with millennial engineers working in Sweden. The results indicated that the millennial engineers conform to some stereotypes but not all. The respondents value salary, flexibility and work–life balance which can all be connected to existing stereotypes. The thesis investigates job satisfaction and the results can be used as an insight for organizations on how to further understand job satisfaction for millennial engineers.

Global environmental challenges and sustainable business are mainconcerns for the contemporary business world. Rules and regulations aregetting stricter and changing frequently. Moreover, customers and publicare more aware of the sustainable products and services. Customerpreferences have started to incline towards the use of eco-friendly productsand services. A shift from traditional innovation to eco-innovation isnecessary for businesses to meet the environmental objectives andcompanies must recognize the importance of eco-innovation andenvironmental practices. This study aims to identify and analyse the driversand barriers for the adoption of eco-innovation in the offshore fish farmingindustry.Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing industries in the food sector andis expected to play a vital role in global food supply. In this study theidentification of drivers and barriers of eco-innovation were drawn byanalysing the empirical data using both institutional and resource-basedtheories. Findings suggest that stringent regulations and policies, competition, market demand, customer demand, and corporate image arethe institutional drivers, while cost-savings, partnerships, technological improvements and R&D are the resource-based drivers for adoption of eco-innovation in offshore fish farming industry. Technological barriers, financial barriers, organizational and management barriers, natural andinfrastructural barriers are the main barriers for adoption of eco-innovationin offshore fish farming industry.

A lightweight knowledge sharing approach for product-service systems development

Chirumalla, Koteshwar January 2011 (has links)
The move towards offering product-service systems (PSS) requires the involvement of stakeholders from heterogeneous functions or companies with knowledge of the different stages of the life cycle. This challenges the way in which organizations create, share, and manage knowledge across functional and corporate boundaries. The management and reuse of knowledge within the cross-functional teams are still enormous tasks, especially when dealing with semi- structured or unstructured information, as well as with informal and tacit knowledge. The purpose is to explore how a lightweight collaborative approach can support knowledge sharing in cross-functional collaboration in the context of product-service system development. Through an empirical analysis of the knowledge management practices within cross-functional collaborative teams in the aerospace supply chain, this thesis describes the knowledge-related problems in light of the implementation of a PSS paradigm and explores how lightweight collaborative technologies can enable knowledge sharing in boundary-crossing collaborative working environments. The study adopts a qualitative research methodology whose empirical findings are based on two industrial case studies. Data have primarily been generated through interviews, focus group meetings, and survey questionnaires. The research work outlines the limitations of current knowledge management systems in capturing, managing, and reusing cross-functional knowledge in PSS development in terms of knowledge sharing, pointing to lightweight collaborative technologies as a key knowledge-sharing enabler for PSS development. Furthermore, the study elaborates upon the opportunities and challenges embedded in the lightweight concept by using SWOT analysis as well the development of several scenarios in which social, bottom-up technologies are applied in an engineering context. This approach results in the identification of promising areas for the significant impact of PSS development, such as in identifying new product opportunities, locating the right capabilities in the organization, and capturing the design intent and design rationale. These areas eventually highlight the features and requirements for effective lightweight knowledge sharing in PSS development efforts. The research work introduces Web 2.0/social software applications and methods as a bottom-up and lightweight collaborative approach for knowledge sharing in PSS development. First, the study determines that these technologies can enhance knowledge sharing by providing empowering opportunities and dynamic way of interactions for knowledge workers. Second, these technologies can improve teams’ capabilities by exploiting the network of connections through the collective creation and maintenance of shared knowledge assets with a common understanding. Such improvements will eventually enhance decision making and sense making in a global, virtual, and cross-functional team setting. Finally-and most importantly- these technologies can amplify access to individual tacit knowledge, thereby ensuring continuous organizational learning. This research work is particularly significant as the adoption of a Web 2.0/social approach in engineering collaboration is still not eminent. The thesis outlines several issues that have to be addressed from both methodological and technological perspectives before pursuing the wide adoption of lightweight tools in the areas identified. / Godkänd; 2011; 20110520 (kotchi)

A Comparison between the Wickström Compartment Fire Model with Experiments and other Calculation Methods

Pettersson, Anna, Puga Staffan, Carolina January 2021 (has links)
An Excel spreadsheet application has been developed for calculating pre-flashover compartment fire temperature according to the method described in the book ”Temperature Calculation in Fire Safety Engineering” written by Wickström 2016. Here called the Wickström Compartment Fire Model, WCFM, which is a model where the surrounding structure can be assumed either as lumped heat or as semi-infinite.The excel spreadsheet is user friendly and time efficient. The model has been used to calculate temperature of gas layer which is compared with results from experiments and calculations made with the alternative calculation methods MQH, FDS and CFAST. The compartment fire chosen for comparisons were performed in a normal sized room with a door opening. The walls, floor and ceiling of the room consisted of the same material but changed between the tests. Four materials were used: light weight concrete, uninsulated steel and insulated steel on inside or outside.   The results of the comparison show that the temperature calculated with WCFM follows both the experiments and FDS temperature curves well for three of the tests. The test with light weight concrete differs from the results where WCFM in the end stabilises at a lower temperature. The difference that occurred between WCFM, the experiments and FDS, for the other three tests is mainly in the beginning of the tests. WCFM predicts temperatures which are as an average 100 ℃ higher or lower than what measured depending on test setup. In the end of the test WCFM, the experiments and FDS coincide and give essentially the same final temperatures. The temperature from MQH and CFAST differ considerably from the experiments in all the tests.

Risk Ranking Reversals and Classification Ranking Reversals in Risk Matrices

Åkerberg, Frida January 2021 (has links)
The risk matrix may appear to be a simple and effective tool that is commonly used to provide an overview of risk. Previous research indicates that risk matrices contain many weaknesses which may impact the outcome of risk assessment. This thesis gives examples of strengths and weaknesses of risk matrices with focus on several types of risk ranking reversals, specifically classification ranking reversals. The constructor and the user of a risk matrix should be aware of the implications that risk ranking reversals may cause, and that these cannot be easily mitigated.

Small firm capabilities for competitiveness : an empirical study of ICT related small Swedish firms

Parida, Vinit January 2008 (has links)
Small technological firms are today facing turbulent environments where they are constantly challenged and have to struggle to remain competitive. The resourcebased view argues that firms with unique capabilities are able to achievecompetitiveness. Although firms' capabilities have received research attention, a small firm perspective has largely been lacking. As these small technological firms are operating in a turbulent environment, they would need to develop their dynamic capability i.e. their ability to constantly change in response to new demands. Furthermore, due to the fact that these technology-based firms' business focus is on dealing with technological products and services, their ICT (information and communication technology) capability can also play a substantial role in securing competitive advantage. Thus, with the aim to advance the field of the resource-based view, the purpose of this study is to identify and empirically test how factors related to small firms' capabilities are linked to competitiveness. To reach this purpose, both qualitative and quantitative studies were undertaken. The qualitative study included three case studies and the quantitative studies used survey data from 291 ICT related small Swedish firms for the analysis. During the study, it was found that the relation between a firm's capabilities and competitiveness is not only direct, but also mediated though the firm's strategy. Entrepreneurial orientation was conceptualized as the small firm's strategic practice or posture. Overall, the key findings from the study are the following: First, ICT plays a substantial role for small firms' innovation activities, but the degree of influence differs to a large extent depending upon various factors. Second, ICT capability is potentially a good tool for building competitiveness, since it has a positive influence on all the components of dynamic capability. Third, networking capability emerged as an important component of dynamic capability and has a strong link to firm performance. Fourth, it was feasible to cluster small technological firms into sub-groups based on their networking structure and networking capability. Each cluster showed unique characteristics in terms of capabilities and entrepreneurial orientation. Fifth and final, the results from the overall conceptual model show that ICT capabilities enhance dynamic capabilities but fail to significantly influence entrepreneurial orientation and firms' performance. However, dynamic capability has an impact both on firm strategy and on firm performance. As expected, entrepreneurial orientation significantly improved firm performance. / <p>Godkänd; 2008; 20080206 (ysko)</p> / Fastelaboratoriet - VINNEXC

Granskning av en pandemis effekt på företag som outsourcar sin logistik

Hansson, Felix January 2020 (has links)
How has companies that outsource their logistics in Sweden been affected bythe 2020 pandemic? That is a question that a lot of companies in Swedenhave on their mind, and would like to get an answer to that question. Whichhas been this project's goal to find out, by using a survey and analysing thedata from the survey against the background of existing theory that hasidentified pros and cons with outsourcing, the question has been answered. The survey got 31 respondents, which was seen as enough respondents tomake conclusions from. The pros of outsourcing that was chosen were costreduction and relation between the companies. The cons of outsourcing thatwas chosen were hidden costs and the relation between the companies. Theresults of the study shows that neither cost reduction or the relation betweenthe companies were affected, as well as no hidden costs occurred, whichmeans that also the hidden costs weren't affected by the pandemic.
