Utilização do módulo "creatalink" para a transmissão, em tempo real, de sinais de correção para sistemas GPS diferenciais (DGPS) / Use of creatalink module to transmit in real time corrections signals for differential GPS (DGPS) systems

Kawabata Neto, Masaki 01 April 2005 (has links)
GPS is a radio navigation system base on a satellite network providing 24 hours radio data to determine point coordinates and world wide coverage. The precision is in the decametric range which is not adequate to many applications. DGPS or Differential GPS is a technique used to improve this precision down to metric level adding informa-tion to the receiver. The GPS receiver can receive the information from geostationary satellites or radio links. This work presents a DGPS system with local radio link to support urban applications based on the low price pager Motorola Creatalink, operating in 931 MHz band. A pilot project was developed at the Engineering School of Sao Carlos (EESC) with the Refer-ence Station at the roof of Electrical Engineering Department. The results show a good improvement in the precision of the coordinates, presenting a high potential usage in medium size cities.

Håkansson, Jesper January 2015 (has links)
This paper describes the process of developing a web page with the purpose of marketing a freelancing translator. The purpose of this paper is to examine which parts and components that are relevant for clients visiting the web page. The paper also examines theories and methods regarding evaluations of translation quality through Translation Quality Assessments. These Translation Quality Assessments are later applied graphically in order to investigate how these could ease the process of determining translation quality for clients. By using methods in Usability, such as an online survey and usability testing, the navigation, interface and graphical appearance of the web page is examined.  The result of this study shows that clients visiting such a website wants to see a clear description of what services the translator offers, what work the translator has done earlier and what educational background the translator has got. The studie also showed that a graphical evaluation of Translation Quality Assessments must be done first when a liable evaluator can be presented for the viewer. Regarding the design, navigation and interface of such a web page, it is important that there is not too much content. It is also important that the color scheme of the web page is not too colorful and contains too much contrasts.

Bezdrátový pager / Wireless Messaging System

Machatý, Jiří January 2012 (has links)
This project proposal describes the involvement of a wireless pager. It describes the possibility of realization, block diagrams of the receiver and transmitter controlprogram for their individual and flowcharts. In the theoretical design are taken intoaccount the ease of use, durability and endurance of the battery function. Was chosenfor the realization of a suitable wireless module, with a sufficient range. The goal is todesign a suitable wireless pager with sufficient range, durability and reasonable price that could be used within a department or a house to call for help.

Patient-centered Perspectives of Communication and Handover between the Emergency Department and General Internal Medicine

Popovici, Ilinca 19 December 2011 (has links)
Effective communication among clinicians is critical for patient safety. This multi-site observational study analyzes inter-clinician communication and interaction with information technology, with a focus on the critical process of patient transfer from the Emergency Department to General Internal Medicine. The study provides insight into clinician workflow, evaluates current hospital communication systems, and identifies key issues affecting communication. It suggests opportunities for improvement: • extending the role of the electronic patient record, • rendering it available on a mobile platform, • developing an improved paging system. It also identifies design trade-offs to be negotiated: • synchronous communication vs. reducing interruptions, • notification of patient status vs. reducing interruptions, • portability vs. screen size of mobile devices, • speed vs. quality of handovers, • information privacy vs. accessibility. The results inform the potential development of an intervention meeting seven principles: interconnectivity, context awareness, accessibility, redundancy, user customization, security, and intuitive user interfaces.
