Aspectos da cultura japonesa representados no herói do mangá One Piece: análise dos conceitos de hierarquia, yakuza, on e giri / Aspects of Japanese Culture represented by the hero of manga One Piece: analysis of the concepts of hierarchy, yakuza, on and giri

Ramos, Angelica Alves 27 November 2017 (has links)
Manga is one of the most relevant midia in Japan. Therefore, the aim of this study is manga One Piece written by Oda Eiichiro (1975), whose story tells the adventures of Hat of Straws pirate crew, commanded by Monkey D. Luffy. Through the protagonist and hero of the narrative, Monkey D. Luffy, it was expected to identify elements that make reference to characteristic aspects of the hero, since this one is full of characteristics of greater value and highlight of his culture of origin. In the analysis, it was found the representation and practice of values like honor, self-sacrifice, loyalty, effort, discipline, perseverance and sincerity. Through the interactions of the protagonist can also be verified the practice of social dynamics such as social hierarchy, the concept of on (moral debt) and giri (moral duty), as well as references to cultural aspects of yakuza (Japanese mafia).

Subdivision Surface based One-Piece Representation

Lai, Shuhua 01 January 2006 (has links)
Subdivision surfaces are capable of modeling and representing complex shapes of arbi-trary topology. However, methods on how to build the control mesh of a complex surfaceare not studied much. Currently, most meshes of complicated objects come from trian-gulation and simplification of raster scanned data points, like the Stanford 3D ScanningRepository. This approach is costly and leads to very dense meshes.Subdivision surface based one-piece representation means to represent the final objectin a design process with only one subdivision surface, no matter how complicated theobject's topology or shape. Hence the number of parts in the final representation isalways one.In this dissertation we present necessary mathematical theories and geometric algo-rithms to support subdivision surface based one-piece representation. First, an explicitparametrization method is presented for exact evaluation of Catmull-Clark subdivisionsurfaces. Based on it, two approaches are proposed for constructing the one-piece rep-resentation of a given object with arbitrary topology. One approach is to construct theone-piece representation by using the interpolation technique. Interpolation is a naturalway to build models, but the fairness of the interpolating surface is a big concern inprevious methods. With similarity based interpolation technique, we can obtain bet-ter modeling results with less undesired artifacts and undulations. Another approachis through performing Boolean operations. Up to this point, accurate Boolean oper-ations over subdivision surfaces are not approached yet in the literature. We presenta robust and error controllable Boolean operation method which results in a one-piecerepresentation. Because one-piece representations resulting from the above two methodsare usually dense, error controllable simplification of one-piece representations is needed. Two methods are presented for this purpose: adaptive tessellation and multiresolutionanalysis. Both methods can significantly reduce the complexity of a one-piece represen-tation and while having accurate error estimation.A system that performs subdivision surface based one-piece representation was im-plemented and a lot of examples have been tested. All the examples show that our ap-proaches can obtain very good subdivision based one-piece representation results. Eventhough our methods are based on Catmull-Clark subdivision scheme, we believe they canbe adapted to other subdivision schemes as well with small modifications.

Ackordslöner, känsla av sammanhang (KASAM), organisationsengagemang och dess inverkan på stress

Brav, Martin January 2007 (has links)

FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS AND RELIABILITY STUDY OF MULTI-PIECE RIMS

Chodavarapu, Sandeep 01 January 2004 (has links)
Multi-piece wheels or rims used on large vehicles such as trucks, tractors, trailers, buses and off-road machines have often been known for their dangerous properties because of the large number of catastrophic accidents involving them. The main causes for these accidents range from dislocation of the rim components in the assembly, mismatch of the components, manufacturing tolerances, corrosion of components to tires. A finite element analysis of a two-piece rim design similar to one manufactured by some of the prominent rim manufacturers in the USA is undertaken. A linear static deformation analysis is performed with the appropriate loading and boundary conditions. The dislocation of the side ring with respect to the rim base and its original designer intent position is established using simulation results from ANSYS and actual rim failure cases. Reliability of the multi-piece rims is analyzed using the failure data provided by the rim manufacturers in connection with a lawsuit (Civil Action No. 88-C-1374). The data was analyzed using MINITAB. The effect of an OSHA standard (1910.177) on servicing multi-piece rims was studied for change in failure patterns of different rims. The hazard functions were plotted and failure rates were calculated for each type of rim. The failure rates were found to be increasing suggesting that the standard had minimal effect on the accidents and failures. The lack of proper service personnel training and design defects were suggested as the probable reasons for the increasing failure rates.

A Performance Guide to a Forgotten Piece by Carl Czerny: "Fantaisie sur des melodies de Beethoven," Op. 752 (1844)

Zhao, Jingshu 07 1900 (has links)
Carl Czerny (1791-1857) was an Austrian piano teacher, composer, pianist, historian, and theorist, who made many contributions to the musical world. He wrote many pieces of music over the course of his life, the most familiar to us being his exercises. His other types of work are less known and studied nowadays for various reasons. Yet it cannot be denied that Czerny was a very important figure who should not be allowed to fade away. We must delve deeper into his life and uncover more of his pieces, to reveal aspects of his work that are unknown for us. This study concentrates on the forgotten piece Fantaisie sur des mélodies de Beethoven, Op. 752. This is one of the pieces that I included in a World Premiere release recording issued by Toccata Classics. The intent of the program for the recording was to change the traditional concept of Czerny's work and show that his compositions are worth adding to today's recital repertoire. The program included five forgotten pieces by Czerny, of which Op. 752 was the most complicated and virtuosic. The purpose of this study is to analyze the piece and illustrate practicing methods or solutions for the technical challenges of different types that it requires, thus constituting a performance guide. Furthermore, this dissertation also gives suggestions for using the piece in teaching. The aim is to help pianists and teachers to understand and successfully perform the piece on the modern piano. Moreover, I hope that this study will draw more attention to Czerny and inspire others to uncover more of his works.

Klavírní dílo Josefa Bohuslava Foerstera / The Piano Works of Josef Bohuslav Foerster

Havlíček, Zdeněk January 2013 (has links)
Zdeněk Havlíček The Piano Works of Josef Bohuslav Foerster (The Lyrical Piano Pieces of the Turn of the Century) ABSTRACT: The presented thesis deals with the piano works of Josef Bohuslav Foerster - in detail, it is concerned with his lyrical piano pieces from the turn of the century. After mapping out the relevant Foerster-related literature and sources, it approaches the issue of lyrical piano piece as a music genre, and gives a relatively detailed outline of its development in the 19th century. This becomes a background against which, at some points, the nature of the analyzed pieces is to be shown. In the analysis of the piano cycle "Snění" ("Dreamings", 1898), the motivic and thematic processes are the main object, the analysis of the cycle "Růže vzpomínek" ("Roses of Memories", 1902) is dominated by the aspect of harmony and also takes into consideration the context of the various piano genres employed. From the cycle "A jabloně kvetly" ("And the Apple trees blossom", 1905), only the first piece ("Dream") is closely observed. Finally, an attempt is made to discuss the piano works in question in broader musical-historical and musical- historiographical contexts.
