Examensarbetet har genomförts i samarbete med Lasertech, Epiroc och SSAB. Syftet med arbetet var att SSAB ville pröva sitt pulver och att Epiroc ville undersöka utvecklingsmöjligheter med additiv tillverkning. Lasertech, som handlett arbetet för studenterna, tillhandahöll maskinen som används till 3D-utskriften och är därmed mellanhanden gällande Epiroc och SSAB i arbetet. Rapporten kommer att spegla en omkonstruktion av Epirocs komponent som produceras med konventionella tillverkningsmetoder och ska modelleras om samt optimeras för additiv tillverkning. Problemet idag är omständigheterna med borrandet av hål vid tillverkningen av komponenten. En viktminskning och eventuella andra optimeringar är önskvärda för att förbättra hela systemet och det finns potential att uppnå detta med additiv tillverkning. Resultatet av arbetet visar hur alla komponenter inte är lämpade för att omkonstrueras för additiv tillverkning utan att behöva designas om på ett större sätt, och att begränsning av modellering kan bromsa möjligheten till att uppnå fördelar. Resultaten som framkom visar på ett optimerat flöde samt en säker viktminskning på 34% med möjlighet till en viktminskning på c:a 67,2% vid implementering av gitterstruktur i prototypen. Detta är något som rekommenderas vid fortsatt arbete på resultatet framtaget i detta arbete. / The degree project has been done in collaboration with Lasertech, Epiroc and SSAB. The project started with SSAB wanting to test their powder and Epiroc wanting to investigate development opportunities with additive manufacturing. Lasertech, which supervised the project for the students, provided the machine used for the 3D printing and is thus the intermediary for Epiroc and SSAB in the work. The report will reflect a redesign of Epiroc's component that is produced using conventional manufacturing methods and will be remodeled and optimized for additive manufacturing. The problem today is the circumstances of the drilling of holes in the manufacturing process of the component. A weight loss and other optimizations are desired to improve the whole system and there is potential to achieve this with additive manufacturing. The result of the work shows that not all components are suitable for reconstruction for additive manufacturing without having to be redesigned in a larger scale, limited modeling can slow down the possibility of achieving benefits. The results obtained shows an optimized flow and a proven weight reduction of 34% with the possibility of a weight reduction of approximately 67,2% with implementation of a lattice structure in the prototype. That is something that is recommended for continued work on the results produced

Hydropower plays an important role in the Swedish power system and is a valuable renewable energy source with great ability for regulation. It is, therefore, crucial to plan and optimize hydropower in a way that is effective. In this project, the Skellefte River is modeled with the software Spine. The focus is on applying a piece-wise linear function to describe the electricity production, instead of a simpler linear one, and optimizing the profit. The results of the optimization indicate that the piece-wise linear function gives accurate values on the electricity production. This work has also further contributed to the development of Spine. / Vattenkraft spelar en viktig roll i det svenska elsystemet och är en värdefull förnybar energikälla med stor regleringsförmåga. Det är därför avgörande att planera och optimera vattenkraft på ett effektivt sätt. I detta projekt modelleras Skellefteälven med programvaran Spine. Fokus ligger på att tillämpa en styckvis linjär funktion för att beskriva elproduktionen istället för att använda en enklare linjär funktion. Modellen optimeras efter pris. Resultaten av optimeringen indikerar att den styckvis linjära funktionen ger korrekta värden på elproduktionen. Machine Learning from Computer Simulations with Applications in Rail Vehicle Dynamics and System Identification

The application of stochastic modeling for learning the behavior of multibody dynamics models is investigated. The stochastic modeling technique is also known as Kriging or random function approach. Post-processing data from a simulation run is used to train the stochastic model that estimates the relationship between model inputs, such as the suspension relative displacement and velocity, and the output, for example, sum of suspension forces. Computational efficiency of Multibody Dynamics (MBD) models can be improved by replacing their computationally-intensive subsystems with stochastic predictions. The stochastic modeling technique is able to learn the behavior of a physical system and integrate its behavior in MBS models, resulting in improved real-time simulations and reduced computational effort in models with repeated substructures (for example, modeling a train with a large number of rail vehicles). Since the sampling plan greatly influences the overall accuracy and efficiency of the stochastic predictions, various sampling plans are investigated, and a space-filling Latin Hypercube sampling plan based on the traveling salesman problem (TPS) is suggested for efficiently representing the entire parameter space. The simulation results confirm the expected increased modeling efficiency, although further research is needed for improving the accuracy of the predictions. The prediction accuracy is expected to improve through employing a sampling strategy that considers the discrete nature of the training data and uses infill criteria that considers the shape of the output function and detects sample spaces with high prediction errors. It is recommended that future efforts consider quantifying the computation efficiency of the proposed learning behavior by overcoming the inefficiencies associated with transferring data between multiple software packages, which proved to be a limiting factor in this study. These limitations can be overcome by using the user subroutine functionality of SIMPACK and adding the stochastic modeling technique to its force library. / Ph. D.

Globalization and the increasing time to market have led to ever-higher requirements on the production systems. More than often the short-term thinking and the chase for profit lead to cheap quick fixes. The manufacturing industry changes slowly while the market is changing rapidly, which requires long-term planning for capacity increase but at the same time the ability to rapidly respond to changes. The most crucial factors determining the ability to efficiently produce and deliver a product to market is the utilized production system and a well stated manufacturing strategy. The choice of a certain production system depends on company conditions and requirements as well as the market demands. The current production systems performance and ability to handle different production volumes and divergence must be considered and evaluated from an economical perspective. During this thesis work the benefits and disadvantages with batch flow and one-piece flow have been examined. Generally one-piece flow had been considered the most efficient regarding performance and economical aspects. Meanwhile, batch flow had some benefits associated to it regarding high level of flexibility to handle several different product variants and better possibilities to govern the material flow compared to one-piece flow. There has also been examined which are the most crucial factors affecting the choice between one-piece flow and batch flow. It emerged during the thesis work that the most crucial factor affecting the choice of production system was the Manufacturing Strategy. It can be considered as the ground for every decision regarding the production system and future investments. It determines where the company currently stands, where they want to be in the future and which steps they need to take to get there. The economical factor is as least as important because all decisions include more or less costly investments. At the same time the chosen production system must be as efficient as possible and generate money for the company. Based on these two main factors other interesting factors have been presented. These factors may not affect the choice as much, but are to be considered as important in this context The most crucial factors found to affect the choice of a production system were; Manufacturing Strategy, Economical factors, Production planning and control, Flexibility and capacity, Production volume, variants and trends. The research work has been conducted over a twenty-week period, during which data collection has been performed via Multiple Case Studies at four companies manufacturing similar components within the light and heavy automotive industry. Additional data collection has been performed through a literature review by examining relevant material for the research questions. This have led to a collected knowledge base regarding benefits and disadvantages with each production system along with underlying reasons for deciding on one of them. Based on the collected material from the Case Studies and the theoretical findings, a Mind map visualizing the crucial factors affecting the choice of a production system is presented. This can be utilized by the companies in order for structured evaluation of their current production system and for planning for future changes within production. / Globaliseringen och den ökande pressen på företag att producera och få ut produkter på marknaden på kortast möjliga tid har lett till att det ställs allt högre krav på produktionssystemen. Allför ofta leder kortsiktigt tänkande och jakten på vinster till att företag väljer enkla och billiga snabblösningar. Tillverkningsindustrin förändras långsamt medans marknaden ändras fort, vilket kräver att företagen kan planera för långsiktiga kapacitetsökningar och ändå ha beredskap för att snabbt kunna anpassa sig till förändringar. Det som till allra största del avgör hur effektivt man kan producera och leverera en produkt till marknaden är vilket produktionssystem ett företag använder samt en välformulerad tillverkningsstrategi. Vilket produktionssystem man väljer är beroende av vilka förutsättningar och krav ett företag har lika mycket som av marknadskraven. Man måste ta hänsyn till det nuvarande produktionssystemets prestanda och möjlighet att hantera ändrade produktionsvolymer och variantflora och utvärdera detta ur en ekonomisk synvinkel. Under detta examensarbete har för- och nackdelar med batchflöde och enstycksflöde undersökts och utvärderats. Generellt sätt har enstycksflöde konstaterats vara mest effektivt rent ekonomiskt och prestandamässigt. Däremot, har batchflöde tilldelats fördelar som hög flexibilitet att hantera olika produktvarianter och bättre möjligheter att styra materialflödet jämfört med enstycksflöde. Det har även undersökts vilka som är de mest avgörande faktorerna som styr valet av enstycksflöde eller batchflöde. Under arbetets gång framkom det att den mest avgörande faktorn som påverkar valet av produktionssystem var företagets Produktionsstrategi. Den kan anses vara grunden för alla beslut rörande produktionssystemet och framtida satsningar. Där visar man var företaget befinner sig idag samt var man vill vara i framtiden och vilka beslut man måste ta för att ta sig dit. Den ekonomiska faktorn är minst lika viktig, då alla beslut i slutändan handlar om mer eller mindre kostsamma investeringar. Samtidigt måste det valda produktionssystemet vara så effektivt som möjligt och generera pengar till företaget. Med utgångspunkt från dessa två huvudfaktorer har andra intressanta faktorer tagits fram, som inte påverkar valet av produktionssystem i lika hög grad, men som ändå kan anses vara viktiga i sammanhanget. Forskningsarbetet har bedrivits under 20 veckors tid, där datainsamling har utförts via fallstudier på fyra företag som tillverkar liknande komponenter inom fordonsindustrin. Vidare datainsamling har gjorts genom en litteraturstudie där relevant material för forskningsfrågorna har undersökts. Detta har lett till en samlad kunskapsbas gällande för- och nackdelar med de respektive produktionssystemen samt bakomliggande orsaker till att välja något av dessa produktionssystem. Utifrån det samlade materialet från fallstudierna samt de teoretiska rönen har sedan en tankekarta tagits fram, som visualiserar de avgörande faktorerna som påverkar valet av ett produktionssystem. Denna tankekarta kan företag använda sig av för att på ett strukturerat sätt utvärdera nuvarande produktionssystemet samt planera för framtida förändringar inom produktionen.

This diploma thesis deals with comparison of five musical pieces of composer Luboš Fišer with fine arts. The thesis is divided in the two parts. In the first part we analyze general art trends in 1960s. We will make reference to the most important trends and personalities, who composed and painted in that age. We will also compare literature, fine art and music in Czech Republic in 1960s, which were the best years of Fišer's work. The second part of the thesis describes in detail five Fišer's pieces, which were composed in 1960s. These are Ruce - Hands (1961), Patnáct listů podle Dürerovy Apokalypsy - Fifteen Prints After Durer's Apocalypse (1965), Caprichos (1966), Double (1969) and Nářek nad zkázou města Ur - Lament over the Ruined Town of Ur (1970). Analysis of those pieces is based on comparison with inspiration sources (Albrecht Dürer: Apocalypse, Francisco Goya: Caprichos, old Sumer text called Lament over the Ruined Town of Ur) or it is based on comparison of Fišer's composition method with fine art piece (Double) or it is analyzed just from the semantic point of view of the piece (Hands). Goal of this work is to present composition of distinguished Czech composer Luboš Fišer to general public using analysis of his pieces. Its theoretical foundation is in the concepts circulating in the Theory of Socio-Cultural-Historical Activity (Vygotsky, 1934; LEONTIEV, 1977; Engeström, 1999; LIBERALI, 2009), which takes into account the contexts in which the subjects are inserted and their implications for teaching and learning and the development process; the concepts of language and genres (Bakhtin / Voloshinov, 1929/2006) and textual genres education (DOLZ, NOVERRAZ AND SCHNEUWLY, 2004), with a focus on teaching the opinion piece genre. The methodology fits the Critical Research Collaboration (Magalhães, 2007), because it is organized to provide a critical transformation to those involved in the research. It is inserted in Applied Linguistics criticism for seeking to break barriers of separate concepts of teaching and learning, as discussed by Pennycook (2006) and Moita Lopes (2006). The production and collection of data took place in a private school in the North Zone of São Paulo, during the Text Production Laboratory classes in the 2nd year of high school. Taking into account the interactions in the classroom and the production of two focal students in the conduction of activities for the production of an opinion piece, the research describes and discusses how the enunciative, discursive and linguistic-discursive skills appearing in classroom activities and how they are set out in the productions of the focal students. To this end, the data analysis will be based in the context of enunciation, language, linguistic and linguistic-discursive concepts, as rated by Dolz and Schneuwly (2004) and the discursive articulation discussed by Liberali (2013). It will focus both in the productions of the focal students, as in classroom discourse. The analysis of the interpretation of the data points that language skills were not addressed fully in the discussions in the classroom, but appearing in discussion groups, although they are not explored. However, the correlation between the students capabilities are contemplated and reviewed in new productions / Este trabalho objetiva investigar as capacidades de linguagem do gênero textual, artigo de opinião, trabalhadas durante o desenvolvimento de atividades com alunos do Ensino Médio para compreender se e como os alunos se apropriam, ou não, das capacidades enunciativas, discursivas e linguístico-discursivas no trabalho como esse gênero. Sua fundamentação teórica encontra-se nos conceitos que circulam na Teoria da Atividade Sócio-Histórico-Cultural (VYGOTSKY, 1934; LEONTIEV, 1977; ENGESTRÖM, 1999; LIBERALI, 2009) que leva em consideração os contextos em que os sujeitos estão inseridos e suas implicações no processo de ensino-aprendizagem e desenvolvimento; nos conceitos de linguagem e de gêneros (BAKHTIN/VOLOSHINOV, 1929/2006) e de ensino de gêneros textuais (DOLZ, NOVERRAZ E SCHNEUWLY, 2004), com um foco no ensino do gênero artigo de opinião. A produção e coleta dos dados teve lugar numa escola particular da Zona Norte de São Paulo, durante as aulas de Laboratório de Produção de Texto, no 2º ano do Ensino Médio. Levando em consideração as interações em sala de aula e a produção de 2 alunos focais no desenrolar das atividades para produção de um artigo de opinião, a pesquisa descreve e discute como as capacidades enunciativas, discursivas e linguístico-discursivas aparecem nas atividades de sala de aula e como são explicitadas nas produções dos alunos focais. Para tal, a análise dos dados será baseada no quadro de conceitos enunciativos, linguísticos, e linguístico-discursivo como pontuados por Dolz e Schneuwly (2004) e pela articulação discursiva discutida por Liberali (2013). Focará tanto nas produções dos alunos focais, como no discurso de sala de aula. A análise interpretação dos dados aponta que as capacidades de linguagem não foram contempladas por completo nas discussões em sala de aula, mas aparecem nas discussões em grupos, apesar de não serem exploradas, porém, na correção entre os alunos as capacidades são contempladas e revistas nas novas produções
