Šimková, Hana January 2010 (has links)
This final thesis analyzes the most represented complex software products for management of law offices on the Czech market. At the beginning of this paper are described specifics of law offices with their classification applicable for the Czech Republic and facts that distinguish the advocacy from other fields. The next part follows with characterization of particular law office, activities of this office and software products which are used there. Other part of this work is focused on a process analysis of the mentioned law office which is introduced by a theoretical base of process modeling. Defined key processes were modeled and then options for their software support were specified. Criteria for evaluating software products were identified based on the information obtained during the preparation phase. After selection of the three most represented products these products were described and evaluated. Other chapters of this work are focused on the software which is called Acta Safe and which was developed by AiP Safe, s.r.o. Strengths and weaknesses of this software were specified in comparison to selected products of competition and then modifications and improvements were proposed. At the end of this paper are presented results of the survey. This survey was attended by lawyers and articled clerks from various sized law offices. The aim of this questionnaire survey was to determine if there is a connection between focus of the law offices and the need of using a software solution for a law office. How such software is selected, what implementation of the software brings and why there are some law offices that do not use such software. Answers to these questions are provided at the end of this thesis.

A study of what is needed from Scania's Research- and Development department to make Root Cause Analysis work in the best possible way

Lidström, Jonatan January 2015 (has links)

Streamlining tool design and manufacturing process for blancing and function test equipment to a propeller hub assembly / Effektivisering av konstruktions- och tillverkningsprocess för balanserings- och provkörningsfläns till propellernav

Vestlund, Jimmy January 2014 (has links)
Rolls-Royce AB in Kristinehamn, Sweden, part of Rolls-Royce Marine, is a leading developer and supplier of water jet and propeller based propulsion equipment. Its low volume production series and wide product variety offered to its customers along with an increasingly competitive market has entailed an increased demand on both delivery time and cost reductions. The on-site manufacturing engineering department is responsible for developing all tools and fixtures, and programming required to maintain the on-site production, assembling and quality testing. As part of the departments streamlining efforts this study aimed on evaluating streamlining possibilities related to the existing tool design used for static balancing and function testing controllable pitch propeller assemblies before packaging and shipping, along with the related tool development and manufacturing processes has been conducted. The process evaluation started from the point when a hub assembly design was finalized until when a manufactured tool was delivered for use in production. Work focused on locating inefficient activities and product properties, with respect to tool cost and lead time, followed by setting up an amendment proposal, implementing it and producing an alternate tool design of which the effects on tool cost and manufacturing lead time would be evaluated. Post evaluating the current state of the process and product a set based front loaded product development methodology known as Modular Function Deployment was chosen to be the applied method. This application resulted in a modular tool design that avoided the determined most inefficient manufacturing operation combination of welding and annealing. Modularity increased manufacturing flexibility, enabling more concurrent manufacturing, to reduce the lead time. The tool design also applied integral properties by identifying the common components and features between tool sizes. This led to reducing manufacturing and material costs. Possible lead time reduction for manufacturing was determined to be 35-45%, 3-4weeks, in comparison with the original tool design due to increased parallel manufacturing and avoiding inefficient manufacturing methods. The estimated cost reduction for combined development and manufacturing was determined to be 105K SEK the initial year followed by 175K SEK the second year assuming the current tool manufacturing rate. The combined effects of reduced cost and lead time would be beneficial to Rolls-Royce AB by contributing to an increase in delivery reliability and competitive prices on the market

[en] AN INTEGRATED APPROACH FOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN A BIM ENVIRONMENT / [pt] UMA ABORDAGEM INTEGRADA PARA PROJETOS DE INFRAESTRUTURA EM UM AMBIENTE BIM

VINICIUS LOUIS DADALTO PAIXAO 18 May 2021 (has links)
[en] In need to achieve increasingly efficient projects with reduced impacts has encouraged the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry to develop new methodologies for obtaining more sustainable projects, resulting in less economic, environmental and social impacts. In this context that the BIM methodology comes to provide more collaborative, dynamic environments and that results in a more efficient and viable projects. Therefore, this work proposes a new workflow through an IDM (Information Delivery Manual), for the elaboration of infrastructure projects, especially bridges, which guarantee longevity of the structure and thus also guaranteeing the sustainability issue. For this, a case study was carried out on a bridge located in Porto Seguro/BA in which scenarios were created, each with its project specifications and from that predictions were made in the time when corrosion starts as well as costs. In addition, the impacts resulting from an interdiction of the bridge caused by its early degradation were measured. In this way, it was possible to carry out a comparative and feasibility study for better decision making regarding the project specifications considered.

[pt] O ESTUDO DA CONSTRUTIBILIDADE E DA SUSTENTABILIDADE EM PROJETOS CONCEITUAIS: UMA ABORDAGEM EM BIM / [en] THE STUDY OF CONSTRUCTABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY IN CONCEPTUAL PROJECTS: A BIM BASED APPROACH

BELARMINO AUGUSTO FIORIN SOUSA BARROS 24 September 2021 (has links)
[en] Constructability and sustainability are two important factors to be considered in the development of a project, since their consideration promotes projects that are easier to construct, have less social and environmental impact, and are more economic. Currently, these factors are beginning to be analyzed separately in the primary phases of projects using the BIM methodology. The BIM methodology enables this evaluation using 3D graphic modelling and parametric objects i.e., objects that store the necessary information for constructability and sustainability evaluation. However, these concepts are usually evaluated separately and few studies exist in the literature that consider the interaction between these concepts within the BIM methodology. Thus, this study develops a process map to establish the information flow between architects and engineers, in order to guarantee a more sustainable project with improved constructability. To help implement the developed process map, a plugin has been developed in Autodesk Revit software. The plugin, named ECOS, performs a quantitative analysis of constructability and sustainability indices to identify which aspects of the project can be improved. Additionally, it considers a cost criterion, which helps the decision-making process. To test and validate the plugin, sixteen architecture and engineering professionals have tested the plugin in an interview setting and have responded a questionnaire evaluating the plugin and their experience with it. From the interview results it can be concluded that the proposed process map and ECOS form a useful tool to promote greater participation of builders and environmental engineers in the project s initial phases, thus helping produce more sustainable projects with improved constructibility.
