This work is a result of focused research to understand the contribution and seize the possibilities and restrictions of the Science, Technology and Society (STS) approach, mediated by a situation – problem in continuing education teachers, in order to provide a reflective, critical and independent of science teachers in specific in Astronomy Education. The theoretical constructions around the teacher training are guided in the arguments of reflective teacher, but this very intentional reflective practice from the perspective of reflection to action. The weaknesses and astronomy education challenges are presented in the theoretical frameworks and the construction of a new reference in this context was given by the discussions and buildings around the case "Alcântara Launch Center". The environment that composed this research was a continuing education course, aimed at science teachers in the context of an action research as part of a qualitative research. The study gathered seven professors of federal network, state and municipal school, which through an investigative action, in inverted symmetry format, appropriated the theoretical and practical frameworks of STS teaching approach. The analysis methodology, my choice was the discursive textual analysis by understanding it as a facilitator of the process to seek, express and construct meaning the investigated field. In this respect, I realized the relevance of excerpts related to the constructions of knowledge and training buildings, which led me to organize and present the results in two sections, namely: (1) citizen Education: articulating CTS and scientific knowledge on astronomy: this section includes buildings necessary for the appropriation of scientific knowledge related to the issue and problem Alcantara, (2) Reflective training for professional intentional action: in which converged the prospects of reflex actions in the sense of reflection for action, converging different perspectives of the subjects around personal and professional values, necessary for conscious and intentional professional action. The work showed me the practical value of the STS approach and the possibility of Astronomy teaching be presented in context, and reflective practice. As for teachers, provided the construction of a new framework and the possibility of a differentiated pedagogical practice, focused on civic education.

Previous issue date: 2009-05-04 / The aim of this study was to investigate the II cycle science s teacher s point of view
about Ciclos de Formação (Formation Cycles) in the Teaching Municipal s Web in Goiânia.
Since the role of teachers is to achieve any pedagogical proposal, it is important to identify
what the teachers think about Ciclos de Formação (Formation Cycle) once they signified a
very important change in the Teaching Municipal s Web in Goiânia. The research embraced
all the formation II cycle s science s teachers of the Teaching Municipal s Web. The
methodology used were the semi-organized interviews which had the purpose to comprehend
and evaluate based on pedagogical aspects and the role of science teaching in this
organization- the teachers about the implementation process of cycles in the Teaching
Municipal s Web. The results of this work indicates that after eleven years of the Formation
Cycles s implementation in Teaching Municipal s Web, there are, in the science s teacher s
point of view progresses, equivocal, lack of comprehensions and great difficulties in the
pedagogical conduction that shows the necessity to enlarge the study and to systematized the
reflection about this teaching organization policy, their implications in the student daily
classes and about the science teaching s role in the formation of the pupil. In this way, it is
concluded that there are the necessity of offering, in the initial formation of science teachers,
studying spaces and discussion about the nature of the scientific knowledge and the
pedagogical politic aspects.
O papel do professor é

With the objective of contributing to the improvement of the practice of physics teaching in
the middle school level, this research presents the production and application of a didactic
sequence with six lessons aimed at the Modern and Contemporary Physics in high school,
observing the elements of Scientific and Technical Literacy (STL) establishes Fourez (1994).
The drafting was done by a team of professors-researchers, focusing on particle physics and
the historical context of the creation of the World Wide Web (WWW), focusing on the
fundamentals of Design Based Research (DBR), as established by Brown (1992) and Collins
(1992), and the Teaching-Learning Sequences (TLS) following Lijnse (1995) and Mèheut &
Psillos (2004). Both include the management of the whole process that involves applying and
reapplying of cycles in which the proposed procedures are evaluated and reformulated. In
relation to this sequence of specific teaching and learning, special attention was given to the
aspects of internal coherence that are related to the perception of didactic intention by all
participants of the survey. For this purpose, it proposes a set of elements-articulators and
questioning as resources to provide a "backbone" noticeable throughout the TLS. In addition
to the didactic sequence, build a "Didactic Guide" for teachers containing the minimum
contents, guidelines for educational activities, the estimated time for each activity and
relevant observations to support the discussion, orientation and pedagogical practice during
class. Were also produced a board game and a school minicongress that may be potential
scientific and technical education materials. This set consisting of didactic sequence and the
guide, tutorial of the game and the minicongress, is product and by-products developed
within the framework of educational research. As a pedagogical experience of application of
that set, was developed in a public school in a municipality of the northeastern of Pará about
150 km from the capital, involving some 30 students of the third year of high school, between
the months of january to march, 2016. During this experience, were registered relevant
occurrences in a journal of teaching and students, gathered in six teams, produced webportfolios
under my guidance. These two instruments composed the empirical material that
analyzed the light of STL reference and the guidelines of the Discursive Textual Analysis
(DTA) based on Moraes & Galiazzi (2011). Thus, sought to answer the following research
question: How the implementation of a didactic sequence about particle physics can stimulate
scientific and technical literacy? The empirical material of the research with qualitative
approach, notably the teaching and the journal web-portfolios, and considering also the
references in STL, were identified five axes of analysis: (1) the World Wide Web and the
Internet are technical applications with distinct functionality; (2) The "absolute truths" in
science; (3) All financial investment in scientific research is necessary for society; (4) The
Brazil and interests around the CERN/LHC; and, (5) Investments, new particles and the
challenges of scientific discoveries. The analysis of students' production, it was particularly
applied the method of DTA, showed technical and scientific elements, etymological,
historical, epistemological, mass media, scientific-technological, financial, technological,
social, economic, socio-political, according to the characteristics of the STL approach, which
constituted in categories of analysis related to five axes already mentioned. The analysis
showed good quality in the production of the students and their involvement in the proposal,
beyond the expected in this level of education. In this sense, at least ten elements of the STL
have been identified in the speeches of the students face the motivation of the didactic
proposal. In addition, these elements were applicants in web-portfolios of various groups,
which reinforces the expectation that a didactic sequence properly planned can promote
aspects of the STL. Only the etymological aspect was identified in one group, which is
justified for this be a more elaborate element. So, the questions presented in each lesson, the moments of questioning and the creation of a blog as a space for discussion and
collaboration proved as appropriate strategies for the development of the STL and contribute
to compose an answer to the research question. The achievements under this research
stimulate the dissemination of production and the use of didactic sequences in high school
seeking to meet the expectations of efficiency and diversification of strategies that compete for
the improvement of this level of education.

Os processos de socialização e a formação da identidade profissional docente: o caso dos professores de ciências em início de carreira / The processes of socialization and training of the teaching professional identity: the case of science teachers beginning their careersSilva, Amanda Carolina Hora da 07 October 2016 (has links)
Os resultados nos conduzem a pensar que, nos processos de formação docente é importante incluir oportunidades de reflexão e de trabalho sobre os processos de socialização, para que o início na carreira e a permanência se tornem o menos problemático possível / This study aims to understand how the socialization processes influence on the construction of professional identities of science teachers who have studied the Natural Sciences Teaching Major at School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of São Paulo - EACH / USP. The main theoretical framework that supports the research is the socialization theory of Claude Dubar, who conceptualized the construction of social and professional identities starting from socialization processes. Moreover, the work is an approach to the issue of identity from the perspective of Cultural Studies and discussions raised by some of its theoreticians such as Stuart Hall. To answer the research question, semi-structured interviews with beginners Science teachers which have studied the Natural Science Teaching Major at EACH-USP were conducted. Regarding to the data analysis, it was used a qualitative-interpretive research methodology, being the narrative analysis the main methodological approach. The results show that the construction of professional teachers\' identities is a permeate process by a wide web of inherited and target identities and tensions and ruptures between the source reference groups and groups in which teachers plan to insert into your professional life. In choosing the profession, seems to be a predominance of inherited from previous generations identities, and a break from the original group, while to stay the course and the teaching profession, teachers use some identity strategies linked with the recognition of this source group. Required stages appear to have been a crucial factor in deciding the stay in the teaching profession. As for the inclusion in the labor market, there seems to be tension between new teachers and their culture, on the one hand, and the older teachers and the institutional culture, on the other. The results lead us to think that the teacher training process is important to include opportunities for reflection and work on the processes of socialization, so that the early career to become the least problematic possible

Formação contínua de professores de ciências: motivações e dificuldades vividas num curso de formação contínua a distância / Science teachers continuing education: Motivations and difficulties experienced in a distance education course.Garcia, Paulo Sergio 12 May 2011 (has links)
Science teacher continuing education remains the subject of debate and controversy, considering the teachers pivotal role in the quality of teaching and science curricular reforms. Since 1996 and the latest Law of Guidelines and Basis of Brazilian Education, there officially emerged the possibility of public universities offering distance education (DE), expanding their roles in relation to science teacher education. This research aims: 1) to provide concrete evidence for such institutions to take over the role in offering distance continuing education from past similar initiatives, in courses for free, and in courses built without many resources; 2) to understand the profile of science teachers that are attracted to this type of continuing education, the reasons that attracted them, the factors that contribute to maintain their interest throughout the course, the strategies they use to cope with the demands of the course, and the difficulties they faced. We collected data using interviews and questionnaires from 75 participants who participated in the course (2007 - 2008): \"Nutrition Education: Food labels in science classes in elementary school. Results analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively showed that the course attracted science teachers from both genders, different ages, different pre-service teacher education, and past experiences with DE. However, it was interesting to note the course attracted teachers that worked in public schools and especially those with negative feelings in relation to science teaching and DE. The data also showed that these science teachers were attracted to distance continuing education due to personal, professional, and convenience (suitability) reasons. Despite a certain balance among these set of reasons (personal, professional, and convenience), the science teachers were more influenced by professionals ones. Some of the specific reasons identified by the teachers for undertaking distance continuing education included the topic and content relevancy for professional and personal life, and flexible scheduling of the course. In relation to maintaining teachers interests throughout the course factors such as the classes quality, the creation of emotional bonds and sintony of interests between participants and the teacher coordinator were critical. Regarding the problems faced throughout the course, we draw attention to the fact that the older science teachers with experience in DE ended up having less difficulties in relation to content, time organization, and in maintaining their responsibilities with the course activities. From these data, we believe that the universities can develop and implement successful distance continuing education, which will contribute to professional science teacher education and improve the quality of science teaching in Brazilian public schools.

This study presents a qualitative research developed with Science teachers of an Elementary School in the Province of Cabinda, Angola. The school where the twelve teachers involved in the research work trains them to perform in all the grades of basic education. The research, held in the narrative approach, is divided into seven sections. The teaching practice conditions and teachers’ ideas and challenges were some of the issues taken into consideration. In order to achieve my goals, I try to rescue the historical context of the country, considering the five centuries of settlement until Independence, in 1975; as well as the three decades of Civil War up to the peaceful moments shared by the people nowadays. After that, I make a brief view of Education history focusing on the changes made during these four periods: Colonial, Post-Colonial, Civil War and the peaceful moments. The analysis was carried out based on a questionnaire of sixteen open questions applied to all the twelve teachers. The teachers’ answers were organized into four categories: motivation for teaching and affinity for the profession; what the teachers demonstrated to know about Science and the teaching of such subject; the teaching working conditions and the teachers’ continuing education; the self-vision of their teaching practices and of their teaching of Science. These categories led to the analysis of the data in relation to the teaching of Science in Cabinda, which resulted in the following: the majority of the teachers who work with elementary education do not have graduate formation for such; they had been motivated by some other reasons for teaching; their performance, as Science teachers, occurs by their sole and own effort; the working conditions are very poor - there’s lack of bibliographical material and difficulties to access information; there are no Biology, Physics and Chemistry graduate courses to qualify teachers for high-school education; there are not continuing educational programs for Science teachers. Even so, the teachers face the challenging task to teach to the youth, they also feel proud of being teachers in Cabinda and demonstrate optimism and hopefulness to continue their studies, at a higher educational level.

Item's OAI Record identifier: oai:bdtd.ufpa.br:231 / The present work deals with a research narrative delineated from elements gifts in the memories of six professors of Sciences and Biology, where I search to explicit, for the reflexive inquiry, conflicts and tensions in the beginning of its careers as professors. I search to evedenciar as it was this beginning, considering for this the three first years of performance. The inquiry was carried through in a public school of Belém-Pará. having been the done choice of intentional form, in virtue of my performance as teacher of Practical of Education, in the context where the citizens act, what also it facilitated my insertion for this inquiry. The citizens of my research are egresses of the Course
of Full Licenciatura in Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Pará and acts or had acted effectively in classroom in the levels basic, average and superior. The depositions had been gotten by means of half-structuralized
interview, being organized in true of analysis axles, from that I argue the problem: Difficulties of personal order, the referring ones to the pertaining to school environment, and those on ones to the educational system. The gotten results had been excellent so that let us can reflect in this context diverse implications with regard to initial insertion of the professor in the career. These implications require innovative deep reflections and face the difficulties that had been found in the ambit of the analyzed axles. For being formadora teacher, I feel myself co-responsible for the initial formation of professors and I consider
myself to search mechanisms essential to minimize these and other difficulties lived deeply for the professors in the beginning of its teaching career, since it is in the beginning of career that the person perceives how much it becomes necessary to learn to surpass the diverse difficulties found in the way.

This is a qualitative narrative research, based on experiences of Amazon´s science and
mathematics teachers in a distance education course that occurred in the context of a Virtual
Learning Environment (VLE). The goal of this research is to Investigate how this formative
experience is catalyst for teacher reflection on Amazon context of teaching science and
mathematics, and which other learning results from such formation appears in different
perceptions of teaching practice in this area at elementary schools. Nine were the subjects
involved in research, which were selected according to the following criteria: being studentteachers
from the post-degree course of science and mathematics education in EDUCIMAT
program, that teach / taught science and mathematics; had a high level of involvement in
interactions occurred in the AVA; expressed full reflexive ideas. As investigative tool, I chose
to hear subjects evidences by means of semi-structured interviews that were recorded in audio
and later transcribed. Besides the interviews, I used my field diary as an information source
which was built during the search through perceptions of the subjects and their contexts, in
addition to the records of various events within the search. Trying to produce new
understandings of investigated narratives, I appropriate myself with Textual Analysis of the
Speech as methods of empirical material analysis. Thus, systematizing subject’s
manifestations taking into account the recurrences and singularities, such analysis gave way to
three themes that I deal with in this research assuming the following headings: i) formation in
the Amazon context: obstacles and confrontations, ii) technologies and VLE: sense(s) of
formative experience and iii) the impact of experience on perceptions of teacher practice and
formation. The analysis shows the difficulties of access to formation, information,
technologies and cities in the Amazon inside, beyond the cost factor, as confrontations to
form itself in that context. Moreover, the subjects show that when they exchange, experience
and interact in the VLE, they gave way indicative of self pointing to (re) invention of itself, to
set a world teacher marked by technological advances and to overcome the use of
technologies that surprise and (trans)form. As a result of the analysis, the subjects announce
knowledge developed through the formative experience that focus on other/new perceptions
of their educational practices: the use of information and communication technologies as
possible tools in addition to the interaction and exchange of experiences and dialogue in
situations of teaching. The VLE, perceived by the subjects as an embedded resource for
formation teachers at a distance, appears as an opportunity to continue formation made by the
diversity of ideas and as a way of bringing up educational technologies in front of difficulties
expressed by the subject.

This work is the result of research developed during the master's degree and has the main objective think the production of subjectivity of science and mathematics teachers from “games of truth” establishing the place of good and bad teacher. In this sense, it raises the statements that produce, contemporarily, teaching and the conditions that made it possible to say it to a specific place. For such, a statements analysis enrolled in autobiographical narratives present in Master's dissertations of a program of graduate in Education in Science and Mathematics of a Federal Public university was carried out. In these narratives, Master's students reported approach movements with the research object of their dissertations giving visibility to the discourse on teaching crossing, shape and inform their knowledge and practices. Taking as analytical tools the theories of Michel Foucault about the processes of subjectivity the study examines contingencies and statements that have led to the construction of discourses on teacher training in science and mathematics prevalent in certain historical moments producing ways of being teachers. Narratives are thought of as part of a set of cultural productions side of literature to area of Education in Science and Mathematics, legal texts and mediatic as artifacts that not just say, but bring up the teaching in science and mathematics as a subject of time that turns throughout history. The results of the analysis allowed to build an typological inventory changing and coexisting of traditional teachers, innovative, reflective researchers...Ranging alternating, overlapping, confronting, composing a repertoire of rules and behaviors that regulate and moralize formation and practice teachers. However, it is necessary to highlight the porosities in the tissue that builds the garments of this mutant teacher, are cracks that leak other ways of seeing and living teaching as espace of self-production.
