[en] TRANSISTION TO FATHERHOOD: SUBJECTIVE EXPERIENCES AND CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES / [pt] TRANSIÇÃO PARA A PATERNIDADE: EXPERIÊNCIAS SUBJETIVAS E DESAFIOS CONTEMPORÂNEOS

MARIANA GOUVÊA DE MATOS 04 July 2016 (has links)
[en] Due to recent changes in family structures, the role of the father has been suffering modifications, and men are being convoked to assume children s care, which had been considered a feminine activity for many centuries,.The present study was intended to search the subjective experiences during the transistion to fatherhood today. In order to achieve this goal, a qualitative research was conducted, in which eight recent fathers from carioca middle-class were interviewed. From the discursive analysis of interviews eight categories have emerged: Mother is mother, Being pãe , Contradictory Demands: patriarch and caretaker, The pregnant man; Ultrasonography as a passage ritual; The birth of the father; The construction of a bond; From individuals to family. The results point to the belief in maternal instinct, as well as to the notable desire of men s participation in their children s emotional upbringing. To understand the transformations inherent to the process of becoming a father, a distance from biological aspects seems to be necessary so that society can recognize and understand fathers feelings. The conclusion is that transistion to fatherhood demands adaptation, because it is a moment in which parents experience contradictory feelings. Fathers might need to have a consistent social support so that they can manage to deal with such feelings, once the transformations in a father s role lead to both desire and to the suffering created by social impositions.

Corpo e educação no vaso do feminino / Body and education in the feminine vase.

Regina Mara Ramo Aneiros Fernandez 17 September 2010 (has links)
I have developed in this thesis the perspective that body and soul as an inseparable couple should be valued and cultured in symbolical educational practices. I start with my experience on the body, in other words, my traject (Anthropological Traject) and the purpose of living the practice of Lian Gong (chinese therapeutic gymnastics) with a group of women up to 56 years old. I first talk about the Feminine, because the Feminine (the one related to the Great Goddess and the Great Mother as archetypes and symbols) and the (feminine) body-soul have been devalued and oppressed for centuries by a patriarchal culture. The same culture that splits the men body and soul in two parts. I reflect about the importance of bringing back the Feminine through the body and the awareness about the polarizations that exist and are part of the psyche (the psyche energy); polarizations that should be understood in the opposite complementary dynamics and in the possibility of psychophysic balance. I present as a theoretical platform, Gilbert Durand Anthropology of the Imaginary; C. G. Jung; Clarissa P. Estés and Edward C. Whitmont Analytical Psychology; James Hillman Archetypal Psychology; the expanded concept of education by José Carlos de Paula Carvalho and other authors that contributed to this research. I introduce approaches about body that tangent Wilhelm Reich, Alexander Lowen (bioenergetics) and Stanley Keleman. I discuss questions that involve body and psyche, on the perspective of recursive logical (dialogic) and inclusive. I also present examples of different views about body which are offered by filmic images and samples of psychosomatic processes told through life experience stories. I dialogue with the Orient (as a paradigm of an antagonistic imaginary) and I talk about what is Lian Gong. I also present the field research material that consists of six interviews, pictures and the experience of living with a group of women for one year. I reflect about the old age and the perspective of the human incompleteness and the entering (start in life), about being old while young and being young while old. The research conclusion refers to issues about the possibility that body-and-soul has to learn continuously in life in the traject and trajectivity of my various I, like others in the world.

The Effect of Bulk Composition on the Sulfur Content of Cores

January 2020 (has links)
abstract: This study explores how bulk composition and oxygen fugacity (fO2) affect the partitioning of sulfur between the molten mantle and core of an early planetesimal. The model can be used to determine the range of potential sulfur concentrations in the asteroid (16) Psyche, which is the target of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration/Arizona State University Psyche Mission. This mission will be our visit to an M-type asteroid, thought to be dominantly metallic. The model looks at how oxygen fugacity (fO2), bulk composition, temperature, and pressure affect sulfur partitioning in planetesimals using experimentally derived equations from previous studies. In this model, the bulk chemistry and oxygen fugacity of the parent body is controlled by changing the starting material, using ordinary chondrites (H, L, LL) and carbonaceous chondrites (CM, CI, CO, CK, CV). The temperature of the planetesimal is changed from 1523 K to 1873 K, the silicate mobilization and total melting temperatures, respectively; and pressure from 0.1 to 20 GPa, the core mantle boundary pressures of Vesta and Mars, respectively. The final sulfur content of a differentiated planetesimal core is strongly dependent on the bulk composition of the original parent body. In all modeled cores, the sulfur content is above 5 weight percent sulfur; this is the point at which the least amount of other light elements is needed to form an immiscible sulfide liquid in a molten core. Early planetesimal cores likely formed an immiscible sulfide liquid, a eutectic sulfide liquid, or potentially were composed of mostly troilite, FeS. / Dissertation/Thesis / Masters Thesis Geological Sciences 2020

Métamorphoses d’un mystère : Savinio et Apulée / Metamorphosis of a mystery : Savinio and Apuleius

Vannini, Angelo 12 April 2016 (has links)
The object of this research concerns the reception of Apuleius’ Metamorphoses in the 20th century Italian literature and, more precisely, the relationship between Apuleius and the Italian writer Alberto Savinio (1891-1952). This topic has been considered from an interdisciplinary perspective, in order to integrate the point of view of Italian studies with that of Latin philology. On the one hand, this research explores the way in which Alberto Savinio has read and “rewritten” the text of Metamorphoses during a long period of his multifaceted literary career, from the middle of the nineteen-twenties until the end of the nineteen-forties. The aim of the analysis is to understand the reasons which led Savinio to reflect on important issues of his time, which concern, for instance, the problem of evil in its relationship with human nature, through his interpretation of Apuleius’ work, as well as the philosophical and aesthetical results of his elaboration. On the other hand, we have come to grips with Savinio’s reception of this ancient text together with a set of problematics and conceptual devices that permits a more thorough comprehension of the Apuleian work in itself. This research investigates the function of metalepsis – a concept first identified by Genette – in Metamorphoses’ novel, elucidating its pivotal role for the construction of meaning. Furthermore, it shows how this concept allows us to deal in a more attentive way with some issues of a text-critical nature, in particular concerning the prologue (with the problem of speaker’s identity) and the authorial sphragis at the end of the novel.

La représentation psycholinguistique de la psyché dans Night and Day, Mrs Dalloway et Flush de Virginia Woolf : essai de typologie / Psycholinguistic representation of the psyche in Night and day, Mrs Dalloway and Flush by Virginia Woolf : attempting a typology

Pedinielli-Feron, Alexandra 30 November 2018 (has links)
This thesis examines the various techniques used to represent the characters’ psyches in three novels by Virginia Woolf, namely Mrs Dalloway, Night and Day and Flush. To this end, it questions traditional grammars which analyze representations of the psyche in fictional contexts from a strictly formal and syntactical point of view, regardless of what the psyche implies in terms of the production or non-production of linguistic self-talk. First it presents a psychological and linguistic definition of the internal mechanisms of the "psychic apparatus", which then serves as groundwork for our definition and analysis of the techniques used to represent the psyche in our corpus.

The first part is devoted to definitions that make up the basic problems of my work. The second part presents the processes by which we gain knowledge and experience, a sensory perception and cognition of reality. The third part is devoted to thinking like an ever-permuting dynamic structure that integrates pre- vious and newly acquired knowledge upon which creates images (ideas) and concepts. Thought to share the images should be a medium. The choice of this medium is a gestu- re, which in this sense is given to the fourth part of the work. Didactic part, conceived as an art project exploring the expression and spontaneous gesture as a means of artistic expression. Art refers to the use of gestures as visual resource. Metamorphosis of Love: Eros as Agent in Revolutionary and Post-Revolutionary France

Laffick, Jennifer N 01 January 2017 (has links)
This thesis chronicles the god of love, Eros, and the shifts of function and imagery associated with him. Between the French Revolution and the fall of Napoleon, Eros’s portrayals shift from the Rococo’s mischievous infant revealer of love to a beautiful adolescent in love, more specifically, in love with Psyche. In the 1790s, with Neoclassicism in full force, the literature of antiquity was widely read by the upper class. Ancient Greek texts reveal an important facet of the god of desire; the fact that he is an agent, if not the patron, for homosexual, homoerotic love. This aspect of Eros directly collided with the heteronormative principles that existed in Revolutionary and Post-Revolutionary France, leaving French Neoclassicists with the challenge to reconcile the ancient role of Eros with the moralizing, rational ideals of society. Thus, the popularization of Eros and Psyche in French Neoclassical art exemplifies this attempt to create a heteronormative ideal couple to epitomize patriarchal France. Throughout my thesis I pose the question: How do depictions of Eros and Psyche produced in the years surrounding the French Revolution reflect the antique tastes of Neoclassical artists and the heteronormative society within which these pieces were produced?

The work Psiquê (2010) Angela Lake, was the object studied throughout this research. The author, rescuing the classical greek myth of Eros and Psyche, recounts the story of lovers with innovative features and instigators of the imagination. The author Teresa Colomer (2003), in The formation of the literary reader: children's storytelling and current youth has allowed us to understand a little more about the Lake trajectory within the historical context of children and youth literature in Brazil. The words deserve a single chapter, where you can discuss the importance of hybrid genre and its ability to unite prose and poetry without losing the quality of text, so we were guided by studies of Octavio Paz (2012), in The Bow and the lira. The author discusses the importance of word and its plural ability to be more than mere linguistic signs. The illustrations have preserved the poetic, as raised the multiplicity of meanings in this way were studied, first, alone. The light theories Sophie Van der Linden (2011) in Order to read the picture book could analyze the images so that each of them could exhibit its potency. But as word and image can not be dissociated from this context, we developed a final chapter to show the union between the two media. We note from the reflections of Mircea Eliade (2012), in Myth and reality that Psiquê extinguishes the boundaries of literary genres, recovering and returning the poetic origins / O presente trabalho procurou analisar como uma narrativa pode ser construída a partir da interação entre duas linguagens: verbal e visual.

A Winnicottian comprehension of the concepts: soma, psyche and mind, as a reference to the understanding of psychosomatic integration

Winnicott, adopting the understanding of his theory of personal maturation as interpreted by Elsa Dias and Zeljko Loparic. It aims to show that the author makes conceptual issues in psychoanalysis that modify the general approach of reflection on the psychoaffective organization of the human being, conceived by him as the object of his psychoanalysis. Instead of keeping the opposition body-mind, Winnicott suggests that the psycho-affective organization is given based on other poles, opposing the psyche and the soma and considering the mind a different aspect of the functioning of psyche. The explanation of these terms-concepts, as well as what he characterized as imaginative elaboration of bodily functions, in conjunction with the description that he makes of one of the initial task of maturation, the housing of the psyche in the body, provide useful information to understand the Winnicottian proposition whereby existence is essentially psychosomatic. Moreover, one can cite, as a matter of illustration, some psychosomatic disorders (especially anorexia and bulimia), which clarifies the way Winnicott considers this type of clinical problem. Roughly speaking, it aims to show that the cited author considers disorders involving the body as attempts to achieve a psychosomatic integration that was not satisfactory achieved in the process of emotional maturation.
