11	Covering Arrays: Generation and Post-optimization January 2015 (has links) abstract: Exhaustive testing is generally infeasible except in the smallest of systems. Research has shown that testing the interactions among fewer (up to 6) components is generally sufficient while retaining the capability to detect up to 99% of defects. This leads to a substantial decrease in the number of tests. Covering arrays are combinatorial objects that guarantee that every interaction is tested at least once. In the absence of direct constructions, forming small covering arrays is generally an expensive computational task. Algorithms to generate covering arrays have been extensively studied yet no single algorithm provides the smallest solution. More recently research has been directed towards a new technique called post-optimization. These algorithms take an existing covering array and attempt to reduce its size. This thesis presents a new idea for post-optimization by representing covering arrays as graphs. Some properties of these graphs are established and the results are contrasted with existing post-optimization algorithms. The idea is then generalized to close variants of covering arrays with surprising results which in some cases reduce the size by 30%. 13	For Relationship Diversity From a Polyamourous Perspective Håkansson, Ronja January 2019 (has links) In this bachelor project I’m working with a topic close to my heart, in my heart and a matter of the heart. Its about how humans does intimate relationships. Specifically how people in Sweden have relationships that do not follow the monoamorous norm of Swedish society. This report goes through how one can work with a highly personal topic with the goal to reach out, to awaken awareness and inspire courage in others. How a designer in a student position can have a process that goes back and forth between ”Participating and Listening”, “Talking and Facilitating” and “Thinking and Making”: and how those roles leak into each other, and nurture the over all process. How did I give visibility to relationship diversity focusing on polyamory and worked withits community? I had a process of searching and experimenting with mediums. Words on twitter and in poems. Gathering people for workshops and conversations. Participating in a polyamourous conference, sending out “Chainletters” among its participants. Gathering inspiration and information until a materialization was needed. Finding that textile crafts feels as close to home as the topic does. Hands and sewing machines turn intangible into tangible; “My Poly Power Blanket”. The quilted materialization and representation of polyamory goes into our graduation exhibition. Where the blanket gets accompanied by the workshops “Relationship Picnic” and “Make you own Power Patch”. This report gives an overview of the complex process that happened when I worked from my heart, with a subject about hearts; polyamory. 16	The Patchwork-Quilter as the Storyteller : MY DEAD DOG! Towndrow, Lizzie January 2016 (has links) Objects can evoke our most vivid memories and sensory emotions, through the stories that have been engraved into them across their lifetime. Throughout history, patchwork-quilting has been used to tell stories, hide messages and hold histories. They are seen as objects of warmth, comfort and security, inanimate extensions of ourselves that store our most complex sentiments and memories- becoming heirlooms that are kept in the families and communities for generations, preserving our histories and material culture. I intend to explore the inseparable relationship between craft and narrative within quilts, whilst re-imagining the quilts forms and functions in order to communicate stories more vividly. To do so I will use my memories of My Dead Dog, Henry, to illustrate narratives and embed them into quilted objects to stage as a tableau of artifacts.
