Kulová, Sára January 2021 (has links)
(English) The aim of this diploma thesis is to assess the current state of the educational structure of staff in university libraries on a research sample of university libraries, which are members of the Association of Libraries of Czech Universities. In the introduction, the thesis presents a brief historical excursion into the development of the position of the university librarian. At present, greater demands are placed on the skills and knowledge of the university librarian. The librarian can obtain them by starting school, retraining courses, or lifelong learning. The legislation does not yet specify the requirements of the professional competence for work as a librarian in the library. The practical part deals with the analysis of the educational structure of staff and the management of university libraries. I am interested in their attitude to further education and also what they would appreciate in this area. Data collection is ensured via a combination of a questionnaire survey and subsequent interviews, which complete the results of the questionnaires. Chosen research methods were intended for both groups. The conclusion of the thesis evaluates all findings and offers possible solutions to the problems existing in the field of further education.

Řešení nezaměstnanosti nástroji aktivní politiky zaměstnanosti s hlubším zaměřením na rekvalifikace / The solution of unemployment via tools of Active Labour Market Policies with deeper focus on retraining

Maczáková, Lenka January 2012 (has links)
The main topic of this paper is retraining as one of tools of unemployment solution and evaluation of effectivity of this instrument with regional extent at Decin county. The efficiency is surveyed as a linear relation between the skill-wise orientation of the training course and ability to gain a new job of the training attendants. The purpose of this analysis is to evaluate the most effective types of retraining in the district, the time interval of deleting of the job applicant from the register included. As a part of this work is evaluation of quality of the retraining course provided by its attendants and as well as their judgement of contribution of this program for following career development. I have used relevant data from information system of the Labour office, private files of the retraining attendants and questionaries from addressed respondents. Retraing is here considered not only bare remedy of the Active Labour Market Policy, but as well as one of significant elements of whole-life education. From this aspect retraining is understood as a tool of unemployment solution and supporting cultivation of human potential, not to say of human capital development. Via this theory and the theory of preferences the relation between level of human capital and the measure of participation on...

Kam se poděla dělnická třída na Kladensku? / Where has the Kladno region's working class lost?

Šťáhlavský, Libor January 2015 (has links)
Kladno used to be one of the symbols of industry in the period before 1989, with a long tradition in coal mining and steel processing. And so the whole Kladensko been several generations of labor associated with these activities either directly in the industry itself or sector services necessary for the operation of mines and steel mills. The beginning of the nineties meant for this area great bewilderment and incomprehension, metallurgical and mining operations gradually ceased operating and the region began to grapple with a hitherto unknown phenomenon of unemployment. This thesis deals with the "destiny" of the region during the second half of the 20th century to the present. Qualitative research methods in the form of oral history interviews will try to map out the life stories of individuals associated with the aforementioned changes, to adapt to new social circumstances and views about their life before and after 1989. Examining the impact of selected metacognitive strategies on learning disabled African American students

Shah, Syed T. 01 January 2009 (has links) (PDF)
This study examined whether two selected metacognitive classroom instructional strategies, attributional retraining instruction (ARI) and self-management (SM) training, improve the academic performance of three selected learning disabled (LD) African American high school male students enrolled in the ninth grade of a comprehensive urban high school located in the county of Los Angeles. A single-subject design was used to examine the selected interventions in a self-contained math instructional special education classroom. The participating special education teacher received trainings on how to implement the interventions in her classroom setting. This study replicated Barry and Messer's (2003) method of measuring academic performance by having the participating teacher design a point system that separately considered percentage of completeness of assignments and correct answers on all classroom assignments. The researcher also administered Likert-type scales to assess both the participating students' and the teacher's level of satisfaction with the interventions. The results of the study suggested the selected metacognitive strategies were both effective in promoting the academic performance of the selected participants. The desirable outcome was also maintained following the intervention phase. The surveys revealed the participating students and the teacher found the interventions to be favorable. The results of the study add to the existing literature suggesting both ARI and SM as viable classroom instructional interventions to promote the academic achievement of LD African American students. Implications for research and practice are discussed. The author also provided a synthesis which summarized historical perspectives and current knowledge about the multifaceted limitations of the current special education model when it comes to serving the students targeted in the study and advocates for advancement in the field of educational administration by systematically incorporating metacognitive strategies in curriculum and instruction across special education and general education institutions.

Rekrytering på potential : En studie av anställningsbarhet hos omskolade individer / Recruitment Based on Potential : A Study on Employability of Reskilled Individuals

Edgren, Elisabeth, Sundberg, Sophia January 2023 (has links)
This study aims to explore the factors perceived as central for individuals who have undergone retraining to be recruited into their new profession. Specifically, it explores the factors that contribute to securing employment in the new profession after retraining. This with a focus on identifying any factors that hold greater significance in the recruitment process. Recruiting based on potential involves looking beyond a candidate's current skills and assessing their ability to grow and exel in a specific role or organization. By evaluating their past experiences and comparing them to the desired qualifications, recruiters aim to identify individuals with capacity for learning and development. Data was collected through 16 semi-structured interviews, and a qualitative methodology was employed. The theoretical framework guiding this research incorporates Pierre Bourdieu's concepts of social and cultural capital, Mark Granovetter and Lin Bian's concepts of social networks, and Lin's concept of homophily whichresults in homosociality and homogeneity. The findings reveal that certain factors play a more prominent role in securing employment after retraining. These factors include the individual's social capital and social network, compatibility and consensus during the interview, charisma and social skills, as well as academic qualifications and previous work experience. Additionally, the study highlights the significant role of the social media platform LinkedIn, both as a means for candidates to expand their social network and also for showcasing their skills. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the factors influencing the recruitment of retrained individuals, emphasizing the importance of social and cultural capital, social networks, and social compatibility in securing employment opportunities. The implications of these findings are relevant to employers, retraining programs, and policymakers, offering guidance for the development of effective employment strategies for retrained workers.
