Recenze na československé televizní seriály v týdeníku Tvorba v období normalizačních 70. a 80. let / Reviews of czechoslovak TV series in the weekly Tvorba during the 1970's

Hliňáková, Kristýna January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis primarily deals with the reviews of Czechoslovak television series in the weekly print Tvorba, central press organ of Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, in the normalisation period of 70's and 80's. In the second place, it also deals with other relevant articles that are somehow related to the television series issues in general. Additionally, it pays attention to formal aspects of the reviews studied in the thesis (language specifics, form, space and development of the television reviews section etc.) The thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part brings information about the cultural-political weekly print Tvorba, it outlines social and historical context of the period traditionally called normalisation and last but not least gives theoretical background about the phenomenon of Czechoslovak television series. The analytical part works directly with the reviews found and also other relevant articles from Tvorba. On the basis of these particular reviews and articles, the main aim is to describe ideas and opinions of cultural editors and reviewers on the form, art rendering and role of television series as a specific genre of television production and, at the same time, to bring an overview of what aspects were on the reviewed series...

The role of systematic reviews in improving patient outcomes in acute renal failure and end-stage renal disease

Rabindranath, Kannaiyan Samuel January 2008 (has links)
Background: Dialysis is an intervention that involves the use of fairly advanced technology and is fairly expensive. Patients and health care funders are increasingly demanding evidence for the effectiveness for such high technology high cost interventions. While dialysis therapy has improved immediate prognosis in patients with kidney failure, the long-term survival of patients on chronic renal replacement therapy (dialysis or renal transplantation) is much lower than that of the general population and the mortality rates remain high for patients with acute renal failure needing dialysis. There are considerable variations between different countries and even between the dialysis centres within the same country with regards to the selection of the primary type of dialysis (haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and in the different methods or equipment used to perform the various components of these various modalities. It is possible that variations in clinical practice are associated with variations in clinical outcomes such as mortality and morbidity. It is then important to identify the best practices from the various variations in current use and implementing these best practices may reduce morbidity and mortality of these patients. Methods: Systematic reviews, identifying and including only randomised trials, focusing on key clinical policy decision points in the dialysis process were undertaken. The review of literature was done in a systematic way according to a detailed scientific methodology. For all of the systematic reviews, a detailed protocol was written and agreed to by the authors of the review. The protocol detailed the clinical question, the types of studies, participants, interventions and outcomes to be included, search strategy and the statistical methods to be employed. Relevant randomised studies were then identified by systematically searching the electronic medical databases and reference lists of published studies; data relevant to predetermined outcome measures were extracted and where appropriate summary statistics were derived from meta-analysis. Recommendations and implications for clinical practice and future research studies were made following each review. The areas of dialysis policy reviewed were (1) Comparison of high-flux versus low-flux haemodialysis (HD) membranes for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), (2) Comparison of extracorporeal renal replacement therapy technologies for patients with ESRD, (3) Comparison of intermittent (IRRT) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for acute renal failure (ARF) in adults, (4) Comparison of antimicrobial interventions for the prevention of HD catheter related infections, (5) Comparison of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) for patients with ESRD, and (6) Comparison of treatment measures for depression in dialysis patients. Conclusions: As the currently available evidence has not demonstrated superiority with high-flux membranes with respect to important clinical outcomes such as mortality, quality of life and hospitalisation, it is not possible to recommend the use of these membranes in preference to low-flux membranes. It has not been possible at present to demonstrate with the current evidence available that convective modalities (HF, HDF or AFB) have significant advantages over HD with regard to clinically important outcomes of mortality, dialysis-related hypotension and hospitalisation. It is not therefore possible to recommend the use of one modality in preference to the other. In ARF patients who are haemodynamically stable, the RRT modality does not appear to influence important patient outcomes, and therefore the preference for CRRT over IRRT in such patients does not appear justified in the light of available evidence. CRRT was shown to achieve better haemodynamic parameters such as MAP. APD appears to be more beneficial than CAPD, in terms of reducing peritonitis rates and with respect to certain social issues that impact on patients' quality of life. Further, adequately powered trials are required to confirm the benefits for APD found in this review and detect differences with respect to other clinically important outcomes that may have been missed by the trials included in this review due to their small size and short follow-up periods. APD may however be considered advantageous in select group of patients such as in the younger PD population and those in employment or education due to its psychosocial advantages. Firm conclusions on the efficacy of treatment measures for depression in chronic dialysis patients cannot be made as we identified only one small RCT that was of short duration. Current screening tools for depression are recognised to have poor specificity in the medically ill due to overlap of somatic symptoms of the medical illness. The development of a valid diagnostic tool would be helpful. The systematic reviews in general highlighted the paucity of large-scale randomised trials in nephrology even on topics of great practical relevance such as depression in dialysis. In many of the areas assessed adequate conclusions could not be reached as there was a lack of large-scale well designed randomised controlled trials raising the possibility that important clinical differences between the interventions assessed may have been missed due to Type 2 statistical error. We identified numerous RCTs which were small in size looking at surrogate end-points such as molecular markers of inflammation, especially in the areas of membrane flux and extracorporeal RRT technologies. Unfortunately benefits with surrogate end-points do not necessarily translate to better clinical outcomes. The urgent need of the hour is to conduct well-designed large scale RCTs in major areas of clinical importance such as the use of extracorporeal renal replacement therapy technologies looking at hard clinical end-points such as mortality, hospitalisation and quality of life.

Perceived derived attributes of online customer reviews

Elwalda, Abdulaziz January 2015 (has links)
The influence of online customer reviews (OCRs) on consumer behaviour has recently gained considerable attention, from both academic and business communities. Technology allows customers to freely and easily post their comments and opinions online about any product or service. These types of customer reviews can have a significant effect on customers’ purchase decisions and have become an essential part of the experience when shopping online. However, knowledge of the role of the perceived derived attributes of OCRs on consumer behaviour remains vague. Previous studies have mainly focused on the influence of the virtual attributes of OCRs, such as volume and valence, on consumers’ intentions, while limited attention has been paid to understanding the effects of the derived attributes. This study, thus, aims to understand the effects of the social and functional perceived derived attributes of OCRs on customer trust and intention to shop online. Hence, we develop a research model - Perceived Derived Attributes (PDA) -, based on the integration of social support with functional support derived from OCRs. The PDA model provides an in-depth understanding of the role of the social support of OCRs by applying and utilising theories of social support, social presence and a sense of belonging. The PDA model also investigates the influence of the functional support arising from OCRs through the inclusion of perceived control, from the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) with the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The PDA model characterises perceived social support through informational and emotional supports, social presence, and a sense of belonging; whereas, functional supports are characterised by perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, and perceived control. A total of 489 responses to a survey were collected from users of amazon.com. The results from this study suggest that customer trust in an e-vendor and their intention to shop online are significantly affected by social and functional supports derived from OCRs. In particular, informational support, social presence and a sense of belonging, derived from OCRs were found to positively and significantly affect both customer trust in the online vendor and consumer behavioural intention. However, emotional support was only found to affect customers’ intentions and not their trust in the e-vendor. Additionally, customer trust in an e-vendor and their intention to shop online are significantly affected by perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment of OCRs. Furthermore, the sense of control derived from OCRs significantly affects customer intention and significantly affects customer trust in e-vendors but only for customers who frequently check OCRs before making a purchase. This study is the first to introduce and empirically test the effects of perceived derived attributes of OCRs on customer trust and behavioural intention. Understanding the effects of such influencing factors is of utmost importance for both theoretical development and business practices. Clearly, these attributes of OCRs are linked to the development of the shopping environment, representing a promising marketing tool that positively affects customers’ behaviour.

Les écrits sur l'art surréalistes (1917-1939) : fonctions et enjeux dans la construction du mouvement surréaliste / The surrealist texts on art : functions and stakes in the surrealist movement's construction

Lemaitre, Sophie 22 January 2014 (has links)
From its birth, the surrealist group is engaged in a critical practice constantly developed during the interwar years. The thesis is based on a corpus of more than 500 texts published by surrealist poets between 1917 and 1939. With their critical vocation and their diverse forms, these texts can be called by the current editorial qualification of writings on art. This corpus deserved to be combined and analyzed for more than the subversive or imaginative dimension for which they were considered up to now. The thesis identifies and analyzes the stakes that these writings represented in the history of the surrealist movement in particular at the crucial moment of its emergence.

Fält, Tobias, Hamwi, Viktor January 2019 (has links)
Title: From eWOM to purchase intention – A study of how valence and argument quality in a review effects a consumer`s purchase intention  Level: Final assignment for Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration  Author: Tobias Fält & Viktor Hamwi Supervisor: Jonas Kågström Date: 2019 - January   Aim: The aim of this paper is to analyze the role of valence and argument quality on restaurants online reviews, and its impact on customers purchase intention. Method: This paper used a quantitative research method with a web-based survey as the basis for the collected material. The web-based survey collected a total of 157 responses from respondents. The collected answers were later analyzed in SPSS where descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, factor analysis, t-test and a cluster analyses were performed. Results and conclusion: The results show that valence has a direct impact on the consumer purchase intention. Furthermore, the results show that negative reviews have a greater effect on the consumer behavioral intention than positive reviews, which strengthens previous studies that show the relevance of the negativity effect. The study also shows that argument quality does not have a significant effect on the consumer’s purchasing intention.  Contribution: This study has contributed to previous research by demonstrating that the negativity effect is applied to restaurants as well, which shows the importance of addressing negative reviews as they can have an impact on a restaurant’s reputation and sales.    Further Research: We would like to see future studies focusing on the same subject, but with a larger number of respondents as seen as we could not find a statistical connection between purchasing intention and argument quality. Future studies should also focus on similar services since we see an overrepresentation of products as subject of examination in this field. Keywords: eWOM, reviews, purchase intention, valence, argument quality

The influence of online consumer reviews' characteristics of the perceptions and reactions of internet users

Regragui, Mohamed 03 July 2018 (has links)
In an online shopping context, the word-of-mouth in its most usual form, ie online consumer reviews, is an important source of information on goods and services. Online reviews have a strong potential to influence consumers' choices, evaluations and decision-making. However, in a virtual environment marked by the anonymity of sources and the existence of fraudulent manipulations proved by some companies, Internet users question the validity of this source of information. Moreover, apart from the crucial question of the credibility that can be given to the opinions of other consumers on the Internet, research in this field continues to examine the influence mechanisms of former buyers or product users’ opinions on consumer behavior. A considerable amount of research has been dedicated to this subject. The results of these studies continue to stir researchers' curiosity about the effects of consumer opinions on the reactions of Internet users who were generally believed to have identified. Several contradictory results have been observed in this field of research. This is why, based on the limits observed in previous researches and orientations recommended by others, this thesis proposes to study under an experimental approach the influence of some online consumers’ characteristics. The aim is to create different exposure conditions to consumer opinions that can lead to a better understanding of the influence they can have on the perceptions and reactions of Internet users. Overall, our findings from a sample of 503 active respondents highlight this advanced hypothesis and provide an interesting analysis of the effects of e-reviews perceptions on Internet users’ responses and behavioral intentions.

Identifying consumers' information adoption criteria on various online consumer review platforms : a case of Thai hospitality factor

Sirithanaphonchai, Jutarat January 2017 (has links)
The dynamics of use and adoption of information on various online review platforms remain elusive and complex, indicating the importance of more research on electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and online consumer reviews (OCRs). Existing theoretical models do not fully explicate the role of the influential factors and their interrelations in information adoption. This research offers a more holistic model of information adoption. The Information Adoption Model (IAM) and the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) are utilised as the theoretical foundations for the conceptual model while examining the factors that influence consumers' perceptions of and information adoption decisions from Independent and E-merchants' websites. Information usefulness is employed as a mediator. This research examines various COPs (consumer opinion platforms) by categorising consumers into four groups on the basis of their engagement behaviour and investigating their information adoption decisions. The research undertook quantitative methodology and conducted a survey on 635 respondents from Thailand. All hypotheses were developed and tested using data collected via an online questionnaire and were analysed with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), with multigroup analysis techniques. Additionally, the research used two step cluster analysis and identified four groups of consumers on the basis of their engagement behaviour Quicker, Explorer, Confidant and Passionate. The findings are 1) A positively significant relationship between information usefulness and information adoption has been approved 2) Consumer adopt different information adoption criteria for different types of COPs 3) Consumers' assessment of different factors of OCRs varies due to the difference in the level of online engagement. The results offer useful implications for marketers by identifying and analysing the criteria that consumers adopt from specific platforms and underlining the effect of the level of consumer engagement on information adoption of OCRs.

A distribuiÃÃo das informaÃÃes em resenhas acadÃmicas / Information distribuition in academical book reviews

Benedito Gomes Bezerra 21 December 2001 (has links)
