The present project has been created with the main purpose of implementing a feasible business for the creation of a company that commercializes furniture organizers of bicycles, skates, and scooters; through two products: DISOR Kids and DISOR Adults. The problem of the disorder generated in the homes was observed in this market due to not having assigned a specific space to said vehicles on wheels. Also, there is a need to keep their home with an attractive and harmonious decoration both inside and outside, even more when it comes to small spaces. For this reason, an opportunity is observed for a product that mix attributes of an innovative and functional design. It is also considered that one of the determining factors for the public is the exclusivity in products as personal as the home furniture. In order for the business to be carried out in a feasible way, strategies were proposed that will allow DISOR to develop in a highly competitive market within the furniture industry and differentiate DISOR as a product that all potential customers should have, as well as keep them loyal thanks to a personalized service and post service. / Trabajo de investigación

Skate blade hollow and oxygen consumption during forward skating

Morrison, Paul January 2003 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of skate blade hollow on oxygen consumption during forward skating on a treadmill. Varsity level female hockey players ( n = 10, age = 21.7 yr) performed skating tests at three blade hollows (0.25 in, 0.50 in, and 0.75 in). The subjects skated for four minutes at three submaximal velocities (12, 14, and 16 km/h), separated by five minutes of passive recovery. In addition, a VO^max test was performed on the day that the subjects skated at the 0.50 in hollow. The VOimax test commenced at 14 km/h and increased by 1 km/h each minute until volitional exhaustion was achieved. Four variables were measured for each skating bout, volume of gas expired (VE), volume of oxygen consumed (VO2), heart rate (HR) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE). No significant differences (pO.05) were found in any of the four test variables (VE, VO2, HR, RPE) across the three skate hollows. These results show that when skating on a treadmill at submaximal velocities, skate blade hollow has no significant effect on VE, VO2, HR or RPE.

INTRODUCTION: Injuries caused by venomous fish cause severe pain and can provoke skin necrosis in the wound site, as noted in stings provoked by mandijubas (Pimelodus maculatus), spotted surubins (Pseudoplatystoma corruscans) and stingrays (Potamotrygon spp.). Traumatic accidents with lacerations are caused by piranhas (Serrassalmus maculatus) traíras (Hoplias malabaricus), armaus (Pterodora spp.) and dourados (Salminus brasiliensis). Corvinas (Plagioscion sp.) and peacock bass ou tucunarés (Cichla spp.) cause punctate traumatic injuries. OBJECTIVES: To carry out a survey on the number of clinical characteristics and fish identification in accidents involving fishermen in the lower river Tiete and the possible presence of stingrays. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A descriptive study was conducted through a survey of accidents caused by traumatic and venomous fish in forty fishermen of four municipalities in the final third of the Tiete River, São Paulo State: Itapura, Araçatuba, Santo Antônio do Aracanguá and Buritama. The study included investigation of the presence of freshwater stingrays in the region, a fact already described and little explored, since envenomations by stingrays are severe and poorly studied. RESULTS: Most of the fishermen did not seek medical care and treated the wounds with herbs, coffee powder, gasoline, urine and other popular methods. A large proportion of them said they had not done any treatment, while others are medicated with urine application in the injury. The recommended initial treatment is to immerse the affected area in warm water for 30-90 minutes (about 50 ° C), promoting vasodilatation and neutralize the venom, which causes pain relief. None of the fishermen knew this treatment. The fishermen of Buritama, Araçatuba and Santo Antônio do Aracanguá were unanimous in stating that there are no stingrays in the Tiete river and that these exist only in the Parana River. However, fishermen Itapura colony confirm that there are stingrays in the final third of the Tiete River from the mouth of the Paraná River. CONCLUSIONS: With these data, we conclude that the fisherman sees accidents and their consequences as part of their profession and not as preventable events, and have no knowledge of appropriate measures for treatment of injuries or preventing these.

Měření zátěžových sil na plosce nohy v bruslařské botě pro lední hokej a jejich kazuistický význam / Measurement of loading forces on sole of the foot in ice-hockey skates and their casuistic mean

Šťastný, Petr January 2011 (has links)
Title: The measurement of loading forces acting on sole of the foot in ice-hockey skates and their casuistic signification Abstract This thesis describe a new construction of measuring device, which is able to detect the loading forces acting on the skates during ice-hockey. This device was calibrated and validated for detection of loading force vector, bending force vector and point of force action on the skate blade. For some cases was described a casuistic mean of measurement by new measuring device "measuring skates" and former device Footscan Insole®. The measurement of loading forces during ice-hockey may be used in practise of skating technique, predictive or protective biomechanics. Future use is also research of discomfort in ice-hockey boots or sportsengeneering. Aim of a study: Aim of a study is projected, calibrated and validated a measuring device able to detect interraction in system foot-skates-surface. After validation is neccessary to prove the practical benefit of this device. This device should make possible to find out the origin of discomfort during ice-hockey skates use. Methods: After a critical review the prototype of measuring skate was constructed. The measuring skate was calibrated a nd validated. In contend of pilot study was done the experiment to proof the casuistic mean of...

The effects of different figure skating boots on the kinetic and kinematic properties of the landing impact and changes as the boot ages.

Spiegl, Ondrej January 2017 (has links)
Aim: The intention of this study was to examine whether different brands and models of skating boots differently affect the kinetic and kinematic properties of a landing impact from a jump. The differences were tested between new figure skating boots Graf Edmonton, new Edea Concerto and old used Graf Edmonton. Method: Subjects simulated a figure skating jump landing by landing from a counter movement jump off boxes of two different heights onto artificial ice in the Biomechanics and Motor Control (BMC) laboratory. During these jumps the subjects wore figure skating boots of different age and types. Landing impacts were examined by Qualisys motion capture system, Kistler force plate and Pedar-X in-shoe force and pressure measuring system. Each subject acted as his own control for comparison of kinetic and kinematic variables between the skates. Statistical comparison was carried out in SPSS. Results: The research results indicate that the kinetic and kinematic properties of a landing impact significantly (P≤0.05) differed depending on the tested skates. Significant differences were found between new Graf Edmonton and old used Graf Edmonton, between new Graf Edmonton and new Edea Concerto as well as between old used Graf Edmonton and new Edea Concerto. Conclusions: The first research hypothesis was accepted, indicating that reduced vertical ground reaction force (VGRF) acted in new Edea Concerto compared to new and old, used Graf Edmonton boots. The second research hypothesis was rejected since the VGRF acting during the landing impact in old, used Graf Edmonton was greater compared to new Edea Concerto and there was no significant difference compared to new Graf Edmonton boots. The differences between the figure skating boots found in this research are suggested to be caused by different construction designs and materials used in the skates. / <p>Kursen Projektarbete.</p>

Trends in evolutionary morphology : a case study in the relationships of angel sharks and batoid fishes

Claeson, Kerin Michele 20 October 2010 (has links)
Chondrichthyans are cartilaginous fishes that include the extant chimaeras, sharks, and batoids, and their extinct relatives. In this dissertation, I examined the growth, development, and relationships of extinct and extant chondrichthyans. I reexamined the skeleton of fossil and fetal specimens of the angel sharks (Squatiniformes) and reanalyzed the current morphologically based hypothesis of chondrichthyan evolution, which conflicts with the current molecular based hypothesis. I did this by including extinct taxa and new characters based on dentition, and the ethmoid, occipital, pectoral, and vertebral skeleton. My results supported the pre-existing morphological hypothesis that angel sharks, saw sharks, and batoids form a clade. However, some of my new characters, particularly those based on the vertebral morphology, indicate that fetal and juvenile angel sharks do not share as many apomorphies with batoids as previously hypothesized from the examination of adults. I also examine the relationships of major groups within batoids, beginning with the construction of a hypothesis of the evolutionary history of electric rays (Torpediniformes). My results are consistent with previous rank-based classifications. However, they deviate from previous classifications depending on the criteria used to generate the hypothesis and on which taxon, or combination of taxa, were used to root the ingroup phylogeny. Because pectoral and vertebral morphology are so critical to morphological hypotheses, I also examined the growth and development of the synarcual cartilage in batoid fishes, with particular emphasis on the synarcual of skates (Rajiformes). My results demonstrate that calcification and chondrification do not proceed in the same order, temporally and spatially. Finally, I redescribe the extinct batoid †Cyclobatis, known only from the Cretaceous, and evaluate its phylogenetic position. My results indicate that †Cyclobatis, the oldest known rajid, is also the sister taxon to a clade of all known extant members of Rajidae. Furthermore, the inclusion of new characters, mainly derived from the synarcual, help to resolve the interrelationships of Rajidae. / text

Traseologie kostěné industrie: Experiment a analýza tzv. bruslí / Use-wear Analysis of Bone Industry: Experiment and Analysis of Bone Ice Skates

Smidovčinová, Nikola January 2016 (has links)
For a long time, research of bone industry in archeology was disorganized and mostly limited for classification according to the tools' shape, from which the function was deduced. This method was frequently imprecise and complicated for bone artifacts as well as for chipped stone artifacts. In the last few decades, scientists have tried to apply to the bone industry microwear analysis, which was then successfully applied to the chipped industry. Microwear analysis can help us recognize usewear traces and give information about the manufacturing and functioning of the tools. Using microscopes can prove which artifacts were manufactured by humans and which were simply broken in order to get marrow, and which were bitten by predators. The goal of this research is to expose the functions of tools and artifacts, which are previously unclear, by use of experimental archeology and use-wear analysis, primarily for artefacts known as bone skates (or bone ice skates), which are classified only according to their shape (and often incorrectly). In many foreign countries, the method and application of microwear analysis is increasingly popular. However, in the Czech Republic, it is largely overlooked. Therefore, we would like to extend the sample of possible contact materials and contribute to the progress of...
