Sveriges åtgärder mot matchfixning : En institutionell naivitet eller ett genialiskt arbete?

Svensson, Kim January 2022 (has links)
The aim of this study is to investigate what research suggests is the most effective approach to combating match-fixing. Furthermore, the study aims to describe how the sports movement and institutions in Sweden work to combat match-fixing. Finally, the design of match-fixing is examined from research and theoretical perspectives. The methodology used in this study is a systematic literature review and a document analysis. The analysis was conducted through the hermeneutic circle. The literature review revealed three elements that describe match-fixing, which are the approach, consequences, and measures against match-fixing. Furthermore, three aspects were found to play a crucial role in combating match-fixing, namely prevention, regulation, and monitoring. The document analysis shows how Sweden works against match-fixing by taking part of documents from the Swedish Sports Confederation, Swedish Football Federation, Swedish Parliament, Crime Prevention Council, Gambling inspectorate and Police Authority. The results of the study showed that the significant aspect is the Gambling Act (2018:1138) as well as the Swedish Sports confederation's anti-match fixing regulations, as it provides the opportunity to control the gambling market and increase monitoring. According to the implementation theory, regulations can be used to act if an organizationdoes not comply with the decisions taken to combat match-fixing.

Speloist

Marberg, Jenny January 2012 (has links)
This thesis aims to examine the phenomenon of gambling and consequences that may result from having a gambling problem. The thesis also intends to investigate opportunities for support and a few explanatory- and treatment models. Games are taking on new shapes and access to gambling for money is on the rise. Studies on gambling have primarily been focusing on epidemiological factors rather than factors increasing or decreasing the risk of developing gambling-related problems. The empirical material is based on eight qualitative semi-structured interviews. Five interviews were made with former gamblers and three with professionals working with gamblers. The analysis made was based on symbolic interactionism. The result shows that community support is limited and has to be developed further. The result also shows that game environment and game design can have effect on gambling-related problems.

Idrottens kontroversiella beroendeställning till spelmarknaden : En studie om den omreglerade svenska spelmarknaden

Isovic, Denis, Svensson, Kim January 2021 (has links)
This study deals with sport's controversial dependence on the gambling market. The aim of the study is to analyse the comments of authorities, organisations and associations regarding the governmental public inquiry (SOU 2017:30) A re-regulated gambling market. The method used to collect and analyse data was a literature review in the form of a qualitative content analysis. The gambling market brings enormous amounts of money to the Swedish sports movement. The gambling policy that has been pursued in Sweden has encouraged the gambling market to return profit money to the sports movement. The problem has thus been to be able to apply national laws to foreign gambling companies. The advent of the Gambling Act (2018:1138) brought some significant changes, most notably the introduction of the licensing system and the 18 percent excise tax.  The results of the study show that the advent of the Gambling Act (2018:1138) has provided the opportunity for the state to collect taxes from foreign gambling companies and to be able to work more effectively against gambling abuse. Furthermore, it means creating a balance to meet the demand in the gambling market as well as being able to provide a high level of consumer protection.
