"Vilken annan sport tränar du aldrig som det ser ut på match?" : En kvalitativ studie om hur fotbollsföreningar i Stockholmsområdet upplever och hanterar sin anläggningssituation / "Which other sport do you never train the way it looks during a game?" : A qualitative study about how soccer clubs experience and handle their sports facility situation

Gisel, Daniel, Hellman, Axel January 2021 (has links)
Today, there is no doubt about the necessity of sports facilities to be able to play different sports. At the same time various sports and clubs have a severe deficiency of sports facilities. In Stockholm the situation is most acute. The purpose of this study is to illustrate which effects a limited sports facility asset has from a football club perspective. This has been done with the following research questions: How do the football clubs themselves feel that their sports facility assets limit their activities? How does the football clubs feel that they need to adapt their business based on their situation? What consequences does the football clubs see from a limited sports facilities asset? In this study we have used semi structured interviews. Seven representatives from sports clubs in the area of Stockholm and one representative from the Swedish football association has been interviewed. The result showed that the sports clubs in Stockholm are very dissatisfied with their sports facility situation. The sports clubs are working in different ways to handle this situation. The distribution of training times, the sectioning of soccer fields, the training programs and their work with lobbying has been identified as the central strategies to handle their lack of sports facilities.

Revitalizace a obnova městysu Velké Němčice / Revitalization and Renewal of the Town of Velké Němčice

Trlicová, Martina Unknown Date (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of a new sports and recreational complex in Velké Němčice. The goal is to create a leisure area with a suitable layout, attractive appearance and a wide range of possible activities to be done here. All of these matters would help to improve the public space of the township for its inhabitants and increase the attractiveness of the place for visitors. The thesis looks for suitable functional content for the area, presents proposals for newly built elements and gives an overall proposal for a new sports and recreational complex, which has to deal with the preservation of several existing objects. The individual diploma thesis was preceded by an collectively prepared project dealing with general analysis of Velké Němčice. The strategic plan for development of the township was created as an output of this project. Several goals were set out in the strategic plan. If these goals were fulfilled, it would help to restore and revitalize unsuitable public spaces, to find better use for buildings and to improve the overall image of Velké Němčice. The project did not bring a specific solution to individual problems, but inspired solutions and new perspectives on the issue were presented here. One of these ideas of the strategic plan considered the possibility of creating a new sports and recreational complex. At this point the individual diploma thesis follows up on the project. The thesis deals with the preparation of an urban-architectural study of the defined area and the creation of a new sports and recreational complex. The solved area is logical and functional divided into individual zones with mutual interconnection of these zones and the creation of a new comprehensive public space serving for various activities. In addition to these urban tasks, the thesis also touches on the architectural design of newly designed buildings.

Resan till idrottsplatsen : En fallstudie om planering för tillgänglighet och hållbart resande till tre idrottsplatser i Stockholmsregionen / The Journey to The Sports Ground : A case study on planning for accessibility and sustainable travel to three sports grounds in the Stockholm

Alder, Eric January 2024 (has links)
Accessibility to places for physical activity is important to fulfil the human need for movement, where a physical lifestyle generates several positive health aspects. In the Swedish context, sedentary behaviour is a major public health problem, with young people in particular not being physically active enough, and more than one in five inhabitants being sedentary for at least ten hours a day. Thus, the role of transport systems in terms of accessibility to sports venues is of great importance, where physical activity is favoured by good access to public transport as well as safe and secure walking and cycling routes that connect different destinations. The aim of the study is therefore to contribute to a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to planning for accessibility and sustainable travel linked to sports grounds, especially in relation to children and young people. The study is based on a case study as a research strategy, where two sports grounds in Stockholm municipality, and one sports ground in Solna municipality are studied. The results show that accessibility as a concept has many meanings, which can contribute to problems in planning, and that there is a lack of clarity in the responsibilities of actors in terms of measures to promote sustainable travel. The study concludes that there is a need for a framework for what accessibility means in relation to sports grounds, and a need for better targeted measures for sustainable travel, which need to interact with initiatives, and take place at the expense of car traffic.

People flow modelling : benefits and applications within industry

Brocklehurst, David January 2005 (has links)
Within the design of any building, there is a requirement for designers to understand the intended purposes of the building and the elements that influence performance. These elements can be as tangible as providing a lecture hall within a university or relatively intangible such as the environmental temperatures of the rooms. The elements involved are generally recognised within the design industry and a combined force of engineers, architects, and specialist advisors work together to ensure all of the elements are in place for each new design. However, one element affecting performance that has not yet been comprehensively covered (at least for many building types) is that relating to occupant movement and the influence this has on experience and hence performance. For example, the number of times people have to negotiate cross-flow environments in a train station before becoming agitated is unknown. Also, the average distance people will walk through a shopping centre before becoming tired and ending the activity is unknown. Even so, they will both be impacted upon by the design and they will both reflect back on the performance of the design. Before starting this research, it was realised by the research engineer that there was only a limited understanding and application of people flow analyses within industry and, where it existed, it was solely related to transport terminals, pedestrian walkways/crossings, sports stadia arrivals/egress, and evacuation analyses.
