The purpose of this thesis is to find how we can use Bayesian statistics in analysis of sociological data and to compare outcomes of frequentist and Bayesian approach. Bayesian statistics uses probability distributions on statistical parameters. In the beginning of the analysis in Bayesian approach a prior probability (that is chosen on the basis of relevant information) is attached to the parameters. After combining prior probability and our observed data, posterior probability is computed. Because of the posterior probability we can make statistical conclusions. Comparison of approaches was made from the view of theoretical foundations and procedures and also by means of analysis of sociological data. Point estimates, interval estimates, hypothesis testing (on the example of two-sample t-test) and multiple linear regression analysis were compared. The outcome of this thesis is that considering its philosophy and thanks to the interpretational simplicity the Bayesian analysis is more suitable for sociological data analysis than common frequentist approach. Comparison showed that there is no difference between outcomes of frequentist and objective Bayesian analysis regardless of the sample size. Tématika sociální soudržnosti a sociálního vyloučení hraje v posledním období stále významnější roli v agendě Evropské unie. Spolu s tímto vývojem narůstá i potřeba srovnatelných sociálních indikátorů pro oblast příjmů a životních podmínek. Významným indikátorem pro tuto oblast je v současné době indikátor ?míra ohrožení chudobou?, který patří do skupiny klíčových strukturálních indikátorů pro pravidelné monitorování sociální situace v EU. V této souvislosti se tento indikátor těší rostoucí mediální pozornosti a zájmu uživatelů. Tématem předkládané práce je analýza tohoto indikátoru, jeho vlastností a vypovídací schopnosti. Úvodní část se zabývá teoretickými koncepty měření chudoby, vybranými indikátory pro měření chudoby a problematice dat o příjmech domácností. Druhá kapitola podrobně analyzuje definici indikátoru ?míra ohrožení chudobou? a jednotlivé její parametry. Prezentovány jsou odhady hodnot tohoto indikátoru v České republice pro populaci celkem a vybrané socioekonomické skupiny obyvatelstva spočtené z dat šetření Mikrocensus 2002. Třetí kapitola analyzuje citlivost výsledků na volbu dvou hlavních parametrů indikátoru ? procenta mediánu příjmu pro stanovení hranice chudoby a stupnice spotřebních jednotek použité pro přepočet disponibilních příjmů domácností. Kromě obvyklého srovnání několika referenčních hodnot je navrženo použití parametrického přístupu a empirických citlivostních křivek jako vhodného nástroje pro analýzu vývoje hodnoty indikátoru v závislosti na parametrech v jeho definici. Závěrečná část práce se pak věnuje vlastnostem odhadu míry ohrožení chudobou jako statistické veličiny a dopady, které tyto vlastnosti mohou mít na jeho interpretaci a používání.

Tačiau jau nuo pat jo veiklos pradžios nebuvo apsiribota vien tik reikalaujamų duomenų rinkimu, bet buvo kaupiamos ir įvairios žinios apie gubernijos istoriją, archeologiją ir etnografiją. / Kaunas Province Statistic Committee was established in 1843. The main goal - to collect statistical information about the province. But its inception was not restricted to only the required data collection, but it was stored all sorts of information about the provinces history, archeology and ethnography.

Web analysis is important task in web portals development. Web measurement can answer to many questions related to user activity. Web analytics is the study of whether the web site is meeting its diverse goals. Just as important, it is the presentation of the results to the various divisions of the company in a comprehensible format. The core of the web analytical system is built on traditional decision support technologies that are focused specifically on capturing, analyzing and reporting on web visitor data. In this work analyzed methods ant technologies required for web portal analysis system design. This paper compares possible data gathering sources and methods for reports creation. There is offered conceptual design of analysis system using hybrid data collection sources. System realization is used in KTU Computer Cathedral activity.

Darbo tikslas - ištirti pacientų, kuriems diagnozuotas hepatitas C, ligos raiškos ir eigos ypatumus. Darbe apibendrinti ir apžvelgti turimi duomenys, išvestos pagrindines skaitines charakteristikos. Buvo nustatyta alkoholio vartojimo įtaką ligonių histologiniams bei biocheminiams rodikliams, kepenų cirozės įtakoti rodiklių pakitimai, ištirtas ryšys tarp ligos histologinio aktyvumo indekso ir kraujo biocheminių rodiklių. Taip pat buvo ieškoma priklausomybės tarp kitų rodiklių porų. / The aim of work was to examine patients with hepatitis C, i.e. to find out specialities of disease. Statistical analysis was carried out. The results are as follows. There was discovered direct impact of alcohol to histological and biochemical indicators as well as changes influenced by cirrhosis. The relationships among histological activity index and biochemical blood indicators was also explored. These are the main results however other indicators were also of high interest.

This thesis is closely focused on gender issues in terms of employment in sectors of national economy in the Czech Republic and the Moravian-Silesian Region. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts and definitions relating to gender, national economy and time series. In this work the progress of women and mens employment is monitored in Agriculture, forestry and fishing, Public administration and defense, as well as in the sector of Health and social care and Education. Predictions are made by using selected methods from the field of time series. The analysis is done on the basis of available data from the Czech Statistical Office in the period from 1993 to 2015. The final section focuses on the proposals and recommendations for future development.

In my thesis I deal with the interactive teaching functions and statistics thanks to computer learining materials I have created. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is theoretical, that contains basic educational knowledge about teaching functions, statistics and mathematics in general. The second part is devoted to the description of learning environment and learning materials. In the third part i tis described the research done in the second year of secondary school.

Vzhledem k existenci obrovského množství statistických programů vzniká docela logická otázka: který z nich je lepší. Samozřejmě tady záleží na konkrétní zkoumané úloze. V této práci se budu věnovat analýze časových řad. Vzhledem k tomu, že na trhu jsou jak placené tak i neplacené programy bude třeba se podívat na několik představitelů obou skupin. Závěrem své práce ohodnotím tyto softwary podle několika kritérii. Posuzovat budu z hlediska potřeb studenta Vysoké Školy Ekonomické. Studenti VŠE tady mají možnost pracovat především se Statgraphicsem a GiveWinem, další dva softwary Matrixer a Gretl jsou zprostředkovány jako freeware a jsou dostupné zdarma na internetu, dále budu porovnávat i placené programy EViews a Time Series Modelling, s cílem posoudit jestli se vyplatí koupit licenci na tyto softwary nebo je lepší použít školní program anebo bude lepší stáhnout freeware. Rozbor programu provedu pomocí tři aspektů: obecný popis programů, příkladu ARIMA a příkladu SARIMA.

The aim of my thesis is to verify efficiency of different statistical methods in segmentation analysis of marketing data. I decided to carry out my study on the organic food market. The theoretical part defines segmentation from the marketing point of view, followed with statistical insight into this topic. The theory is then applied to marketing study in practical part. Finally, concrete recommendations for organic food marketers, producers and distributors are offered, which could help them to increase their revenues and to acquire a bigger market share.
