Trąšų su jūros dumbliais poveikis vasariniams rapsams / The effect of seaweed fertilizer on summer rapeseedBendikas, Marius 13 June 2012 (has links)
The laboratory studies of the concentrated fertilizer with seaweed liquid had an impact on oilseed of summer rapeseed germination, root and the development of coleoptiles. The best result was reached by sputtering 0.1 percents units concentration of fertilizer with seaweed on the summer rapeseed. For this fertilizing version the summer rapeseed most germinated, and root and coleoptiles lengths had been the same and it had developed the strong root system, which allowed expecting a good yield and planting more resistant to bad weather conditions. The experiment on field of fertilizer with seaweed had affected the productivity and chemical composition of summer rapeseed. Using the fertilizer with seaweed the productivity of summer rapeseed was substantially increased from 0.37 to 0.42 t ha-1, respectively reached 2.89 and 2.94 t ha-1. The fertilizers with seaweed had also influenced the fat content of summer rapeseed. It was observed the substantial increase of 1.10 percents for unit on the summer rapeseed fertilized with Eurofertil plius NP 37 Physio before sowing, at stage of stem growth time fertilized with Sulfammo 30, at bud formation time with Fertileader Gold. The fertilizers with seaweed hadn’t significant influence to protein and glucosinolate contents.

Darbo tikslas: įvertinti jaunimo vasaros stovyklos „Merkurijus“ teikiamas paslaugas
Darbo problema: Nepakankama paslaugų pasiūla jaunimui vasaros stovyklose?
Darbo uždaviniai:
1. Atskleisti vaikų vasaros poilsio ir užimtumo organizavimo ypatumus.
2. Apžvelgti stovyklų pasiūlą pagal veiklos rūšis vasaros sezono metu Lietuvoje.
Objectives: of the thesis: To appraise youth summer camp „Merkurijus“ activity.
Problem: underexpose supply to the youth of a summer camp complexion activities?
Aims:
1) to reveal children summer recreation and occupation organisation singularities.
2) to review the camps supply, according of activity types at the summer season in Lithuania
3) analyse the type of a summer camp activities accordind „Merkurijus“ example and relatively with the other camps.
Conclusions: the camps objetives and aims are focused to the optimal campers occupation, that it wouldn‘t be the reason for the youth just to relax, also to learn how to socializme, collaborate, to know a lot of new and want to come back next summer. There are a lot of working camps, which are focused to the one activity ( sport, languages, art, tolerancy, young-warrior, citizion-nationality, ecology and others). To comparable summer camp „Merkurijus“ activity with Lithuania camps, may to propose that all Liethuania camps have one and the same aims: that youth which are in holiday, expereance more positive impressions, to know something new and to reach them to retrieve back again. To stimulate the children go to the camps, to tell them more about the camps benefits and activities, which are pursued. In the schools for the children to give the lessons about recreation, opportunaties to go to other camps, to give them notelets and to argument why is useful and litting there to... [to full text]

Sub-orbital scale variations in the intensity of the Arabian Sea MonsoonIvanochko, Tara S. January 2005 (has links)
A high-resolution multi-proxy reconstruction of the Arabian Sea Summer Monsoon (ASSM) intensity over the past 90,000 years has been determined using two marine sediment cores: one from the Somali margin and one from the Indian margin. This reconstruction indicates that changes in monsoon- induced upwelling, primary productivity and denitrification have varied in synchrony with Dansgaard-Oeschger (D-O) cycles. Increased monsoon intensity correlates with warm climate events (interstadials) and decreased monsoon intensity, which coincides with stadials and Heinrich Events, is confirmed by elevated dust concentrations in the marine cores. A comparison of the Somali and Indian margin cores with previously reported studies from the Northern and Western Basin allows the identification of discrete sediment signals from the Indus River, the Arabian Peninsula and from local riverine runoff. Sedimentary deposition on the Indian margin during interglacials is dominated by local terrestrial runoff, whereas during glacial periods increased dust input from the Arabian Peninsula is evident. Both signals are related to changes in the intensity of the ASSM. Monsoon intensity has decreased during the Holocene as the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) has moved to a more southerly position. The ASSM-ITCZ relationship (increased ASSM intensity and a northern ITCZ, decreased ASSM intensity and a southern ITCZ) has remained consistent over the last glacial cycle suggesting that global millennial scale climatic variability is in part driven by modulations in tropical hydrological cycle. This ASSM reconstruction provides evidence that rearrangements in the tropical convection system affected atmospheric dust concentrations as well as the concentration and location of atmospheric water vapour. In addition to modulating terrestrial and marine emissions of greenhouse gases, variation in the tropical hydrological cycle provides a mechanism of amplifying and perpetuating millennial-scale climatic changes.

Examining Gender and Age as Predictors of Personal Development in a Summer Camp Setting as Mediated by Social Capital and Social SupportLichti, Rebecca January 2014 (has links)
Youth require opportunities to master and demonstrate new skills, make independent choices, and form positive social relationships to encourage positive youth development. Camps provide a unique setting that fosters the development of new sources of social capital and social support. Current literature examining positive youth development in camps has been able to identify some demographic differences in camper experiences at camp, but has not yielded statistically significant relationships and no consensus as to the explanations for those relationships. Using a longitudinal dataset gathered in a camp setting, this study examined the relationships between gender and age and personal development. Social capital and social support were found to have significant roles as mediating variables in the development of personal development at camp. This study enhances the understanding of the benefits to children from attending camp, and why females and older children may benefit the most from these experiences.

Developmental Mathematics College Students’ Experiences of Mathematical Practices in a 4-week Summer Learning Community using Local Communities of Mathematical PracticesNaidu, Bhupinder 17 May 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine traditionally aged developmental mathematics college students’ experiences of mathematical practices, in a 4-week summer learning community, using a qualitative explanatory single case study approach (Yin, 2009). This study used the methodological framework of Local Communities of Mathematical Practices (Winbourne & Watson, 1998), the conceptual theory of situated cognition (Brown & Duguid, 1988), and the theories of communities of practice (Lave & Wenger, 1991), and learning communities (Tinto, 1997). The objectives were to highlight contextual factors that allowed participants to be academically successful as evidenced by their mathematical practices (Ball, 2003). The research question was: How does participating in a 4-week summer learning community shape developmental mathematics college students’ experiences of mathematical practices?
The participants of this case study were one group of four women. Data were collected in the form of video and audio tape of classroom interactions, observations and reflections, diagnostic pretest, and participant interviews. Findings revealed that participants’ mathematical practices were shaped in part by: a) the way students identified with mathematics reflected their ‘success’ or ‘failure’ in the mathematics course; b) the students level of participation within the community; c) the students collaboration with purpose, discussion, and reflection; d) the students shared repertoire confirmed the consensus of knowledge; e) the students mutual engagement played a large part in their motivation, and f) the students joint enterprise within the learning community led to a self supporting system verifying that learning is the intersection of activity, concept, and the classroom.

Specialized Summer Camp for Children and Adolescents with Learning Disabilities: A Naturalistic Context for Enhancing Social Competence, Friendship, and Self-ConceptCase, Emily Kathryn 10 December 2012 (has links)
Social competence and positive self-concept are essential to future adaptive outcomes and overall well-being; but children and adolescents with learning disabilities (LD) frequently struggle in these domains. This dissertation examined changes in the social competence and self-concept of campers with learning disabilities (LD), within a specialized summer camp, with particular focus on friendship development. The dissertation is presented in two manuscripts, which will be submitted for publication.
The objective of the first manuscript was to examine changes in campers’ social skills, social acceptance, self-worth, and self-esteem, within the context of summer camp, as reported by parents and campers. Parental reports indicated small gains in social skills, social acceptance, and self-worth from the beginning to the end of camp; with gains in social acceptance and self-worth maintained four to five months later. Campers did not report changes in any domains. Parents and campers reported declines in camper self-esteem at follow-up. In general, campers with LD+ADHD exhibited smaller gains in social competence and self-concept, than those with LD. Results are discussed in relation to theoretical frameworks and existing camp and LD research.
The objective of the second manuscript was to investigate campers’ friendship development, within the summer camp context. Many campers reported having high-quality, reciprocal friendships at the beginning of camp. Campers reported more reciprocal friendships after camp, but these were not maintained at follow-up. Campers also reported having a best camp friend by the end of camp, and this relationship was maintained at follow-up. In terms of friendship quality, campers reported increased closeness by the end of camp and conflict ratings were low, overall. This study examined factors predicting changes in social competence. High-quality, reciprocal friendships predicted changes in campers’ social acceptance, according to parents. Similarly, reciprocal friendships predicted changes in camper reported social acceptance. These results highlight the inter-connections between friendship and aspects of social competence. Camp attendance was found to be a relevant factor in friendship development and quality.
The concluding chapter discusses social competence, friendship, and self-concept outcomes for campers with LD within the context of a specialized summer camp. The implications of the findings for present theory and clinical practice are discussed, including specific recommendations for this camp’s structure and program evaluation procedures.
