The central theme of the thesis is the current conceptualization of social classes and the issue of stratification in the Czech Republic in the period after 1989. In the first part I confront key theses of classical stratification concepts and follow their transformations in the history of exploration of the social structure. In the second part, by secondary analysis of quantitative data, I am trying to find the key factors of self- classification into social structures and to determine how this subjective self- classification correlates with objective (sociological) classification. An important part of the research is also the question of to what extent and in what sense people perceive the contemporary Czech society as a social-stratified. In the conclusion, on the basis of the results of analysis, I am trying to suggest which of the classical concepts of stratification best reflects the situation in contemporary Czech society. This thesis is written from the perspective of cultural sociology and focuses on middle-class parents and justification of their child-rearing decisions. It describes how parents choose and evaluate the institutions their children spend time at, how they "other" parents with different values and how they relate to concerted cultivation - a type of parenting style which currently dominates the middle-class context. This parenting style (or ideal) puts a great deal of pressure on middle-class parents and it causes a symbolic war among them: a war for acknowledgment and a certain position in the cultural space. This thesis describes who the participants "other", which child-rearing strategies participants approve of, what values are crucial for them and what problems they deal with. Furthermore, four main differences between the participants' approach and the concerted cultivation approach were identified: emphasis on friendship, emphasis on balance between activities and rest, emphasis on fitting in with the majority and emphasis on approval of certain authoritarian methods such as imposing punishments, applying restrictions and issuing directives.

The aim of this diploma thesis is an analytical comparison and deconstruction of views of social historians on labouring men. The object of my interest will be views of Czech and East German historians from the period of the socialist dictatorship, and the views of Czech and German historians from the period of post-socialism. Using the methods of poststructuralist approaches, I will place the comparison and deconstructions in the contextual analysis of ideological determinations. At the same time, I will pay special attention to the changes in the determinations and epistemological breaks, with the help of which I will analyze the changes in the position of workes's research in relation to science and society. The Diploma thesis "Research on religious literacy of preschool children in a Christian kindergarten class: Case study" consists of two main parts. Its chief aim is to introduce a new term "religious literacy" and identify its main features on children of preschool age. In the first chapter, it is dealt with the term of literacy in general and from the religious point of view. First, the term is defined; its levels, main factors and points of judgment are specified. Further, the particular models for preschool age and the main principles of its effective stimulation and development are drawn up. In the chapter about religious literacy, the stage of faith intuitive - projective is presented, typical for preschool age. It is based on the passages from Catechism of the Catholic Church. The item of the second part is a case study as an empirical research on religious literacy of preschool children in a Christian kindergarten class. This thesis deals with the phenomenon of the suburban summer resorts and the recreational activities of the inhabitants of Prague in the second half of 19th century and first decades of 20th century. At first, the work introduces the following topics: a general characteristic of the industrialization era, an origin and initial development of the middle class, a villa with the garden on the periphery of the industrial city as a specific manifestation of the middle class culture, a phenomenon of the garden cities, recreational activities as a specific way of the middle class recreation. Then, the summer resort is introduced. This summer resort is Černošice, one of the most famous summer resorts of this era, there were other famous summer resorts of the inhabitants of Prague situated in his neighbourhood, for example Všenory or Dobřichovice. Work is trying to solve situation at area between Benešova street and Koliště in Brno city. Creating urbanistic and architectural design. High rise building is part of designing, because of remembering project from 30s of last century. Architectural studies of soliter building polyfunctional house.

Historically, the locality Benešova located on the edge of the medieval city of Brno in the former site of the Baroque fortification. In the nineteenth century, after the demolition of the fortifications were being built ring road block with mostly public buildings and park areas. The newly designed structure of the buildings are trying to complete Brno Ring in the unfinished part and continues the tradition of major public buildings on ring road.

Topic of proposal is to complete block of houses on the edge of historical centre. The centre continues in Brno’s ring road. Blocks are characteristic of having features like: ledge, commercial ground floor, following street line, ridge of roof, frontage face with regular rhythm of windows and same height of ledges on each floor. All of this determines rules of completion of the block. Could concert hall be as significant in the organism of the city that it doesn't have to follow mentioned rules? Following of features appearing in surrounding could stand for negative perception of expression of concert hall. There has to be effort not to create just typical administrative building in which concert hall is built in.

The climate of the class in a conventional and in an alternative basic school is the main topic of this master thesis. The master thesis is divided into two parts, the first part is theoretical and the second one practical. It the theoretical part the main focus is dedicated to an explanation of the terms concerning the theme. The thesis deals with the methods of diagnostics in a class climate. The second part, the practical one, consists of the research held in the school classes of the conventional and alternative type. The research is considered to be a quantitative analysis and its research instrument is a questionnaire. The practical part is intended as a comparison between the climate in the both types of schools. The main goal of the master thesis is firstly to compare school climate in the alternative and conventional school. Secondly the master thesis should interpret the discovered information.
