This paper addresses the question of whether individual delinquent behaviour, or criminogenic risks that lead to it, can be reduced for convicted violence offenders with personality disorder, using the newly developed offence-oriented therapeutic program TERČ ("TARGET"). If so, how will these changes manifest in the recidivism rate, and how they will reflect the personality characteristics of inmates. TARGET was first systematically applied within a special treatment unit for prisoners with mental and behavioral disorders in Liberec Remand Prison in 2008. It is based on selected elements of the Ambulant intensive program (AIP) from Switzerland. A total of 100 convicts were entered TARGET from 2008 to 2015. 65 individuals completed the program successfully, and 57 were released again. The already released graduates of TARGET re-offended within 12 months in 10.4%. Of all admitted TARGET participants, a total of 30.2% either relapsed or failed during the program since 2009. Graduates showed positive, statistically significant changes in the monitored areas of life satisfaction, emotional stability, insight, self-control and aggression, while on scales representing personality disorder no positive, statistically significant effect was observed. Text in Afrikaans with summaries in Afrikaans and English / A pastoral Gestalt therapeutic intervention model was developed, implemented and
evaluated in the research to facilitate the therapeutic process from guilt and shame to
forgiveness. Guilt and shame can be traumatic self-conscious experiences which has
an impact on abused late adolescent's physical, psychological, social, emotional, moral
and religious development. It can determine the adolescent's behavior, their views of
themselves and their interpersonal relationships. Guilt and shame arouses feelings of
helplessness, anger, blame, bitterness and the need for retaliation, while forgiveness
can relieve these impulses effectively and be utilized as a source for a recovering
experience.
In designing the intervention model, the researcher studied adolescents' emotional
experience, behaviour and management of guilt, shame and forgiveness from a
pastoral base theory within the Gestalt therapeutic perspective. The formation of the
paradigm is based on a multidisciplinary approach which takes place on the interface
between pastoral counselling and Gestalt therapy without the unique content and
character of pastoral care or the Gestalt therapy being lost. By utilizing the intervention
model abused late adolescents are assisted with the necessary awareness to focus on
what is on their foreground in order to reach self-regulation of their emotional
experience. The intervention model was developed as a prototype intervention based
on Enright's forgiveness process model and components of both the pastoral base
theory and the Gestalt therapeutic process of the Schoeman working model.
The research was performed by using a mixed qualitative-quantitative approach. The
qualitative approach entails the use of applied intervention in intervention research
while the quantitative approach consists of measuring the respondents' experiences of
guilt, shame and forgiveness, using three standardized rating scales before and after
intervention. The researcher applied the intervention research design in a multiple
case study with five respondents and a single-system design was incorporated into the
intervention research. The measurement of respondents' experiences of guilt, shame
and forgiveness after intervention, determined whether the changes took effect,
attributable to their participation in the intervention. Following the research findings the
conclusion was made that the pastoral Gestalt therapeutic intervention model can be
used effectively to guide abused late adolescents who experience guilt and shame, to
forgiveness. / In die navorsing is 'n pastorale Gestaltterapeutiese intervensiemodel ontwikkel,
geimplementeer en geevalueer om die terapeutiese proses van skuld en skaamte na
vergifnis te fasiliteer. Skuld en skaamte kan traumatiese selfbewuste ervaringe wees
wat mishandelde laat-adolessente se fisieke, psigiese, sosiale, emosionele, morele en
religieuse ontwikkeling beinvloed. Dit kan bepalend vir die adolessente se gedrag
wees, asook hul siening van hulself en hul interpersoonlike verhoudinge. Skuld en
skaamte wek gevoelens van magteloosheid, woede, blaam, bitterheid en die behoefte
na vergelding, terwyl vergifnis hierdie impulse kan verlig en effektief benut kan word as
'n bron van die herstelervaring.
In die antwerp van die intervensiemodel het die navorser die adolessente se
emosionele ervaring, gedrag en hantering van skuld, skaamte en vergifnis vanuit 'n
pastorale basisteorie binne die Gestaltterapeutiese perspektief bestudeer. Die vorming
van die paradigma is geskoei op 'n multidissiplinere benadering wat op die tussenvlak
tussen pastoraat en Gestaltterapie plaasvind, sander om die eiesoortige inhoud en
karakter van die pastoraat of die Gestaltterapie verlore te laat gaan. Deur benutting
van die intervensiemodel is mishandelde laat-adolessente begelei om met die nodige
bewustheid te fokus op dit wat op hul voorgrond is ten einde selfregulering van hul
emosionele belewenis te bereik. Die intervensiemodel is ontwikkel as 'n prototipe
intervensie deur Enright se vergifnis prosesmodel en komponente van sowel die
pastorale basisteorie as die Gestaltterapeutiese proses van die Schoeman-werkmodel
te gebruik.
Die navorsing is vanuit die gemengde kwalitatiewe-kwantitatiewe benadering
onderneem. Die kwalitatiewe benadering het die gebruik van toegepaste intervensie in
'n intervensienavorsingsmodel behels en die kwantitatiewe benadering die meting van
die respondente se ervaring van skuld, skaamte en vergifnis, met behulp van drie
gestandaardiseerde metingskale, voor en na intervensie. Die navorser het die
intervensienavorsingontwerp in 'n meervoudige gevallestudie met vyf respondente
toegepas en 'n enkelsisteemontwerp in die intervensienavorsing gei"nkorporeer. Die
meting van die respondente se ervaring van skuld, skaamte en vergifnis na intervensie,
het bepaal of die veranderinge wat ingetree het, toegeskryf kan word aan hul deelname

Text in Afrikaans / Die doel van hierdie studie was om die aard en negatiewe gevolge van die verlies- en
treurproses te ondersoek, en riglyne daar te stel vir die terapeutiese hantering van die
verlies- en treurproses.
Aan die hand van ‘n literatuurstudie is die aard, gevolge en terapie-benaderings met
betrekking tot die verlies- en treurproses bestudeer. Die Opvoedkundig-sielkundige
Relasieteorie is verken, en is as raamwerk in ’n empiriese studie gebruik. Die hantering
van die verlies- en treurproses is kwalitatief ondersoek. Deur terapeutiese intervensie in
drie deelnemers se verlies- en treurproses, is insig verkry met die oog op die samestelling
van ’n terapieprogram, sowel as vir riglyne vir die terapeut en die kliënt.
Ek het wegbeweeg van navorsing wat primêr beskrywend van aard is en op diagnostiese
oorwegings fokus, na raamwerke waar intervensie-strategieë en spesifieke tegnieke
gebruik kan word wanneer die terapeut en die kliënt betrokke is in deurlopende
psigoterapie.
Die navorsingsresultate toon dat dit belangrik is om nie slegs op die verlies te fokus nie,
maar ook op onopgeloste kwessies wat vantevore in die kliënt se lewe plaasgevind het.
Insig en kennis van hulleself, hul verhoudings, verdedigingsmeganismes, emosies, denke en gedrag, en die invloed wat dit op hulle verlies- en treurproses het, was nodig sodat die
kliënte hul ongewenste aangeleerde gedrag kon wysig, om sodoende hulleself beter te
verstaan in die hantering van hulle verlies en die treurproses. / The purpose of this study was to investigate the nature and negative consequenses of, and
to set guidelines for the therapeutic handling of the loss and grief process.
A literature study was undertaken to determine the nature, consequences, and
therapeutic techniques, with regard to the loss and grief process, based on Psychological
Relations theory.
By means of therapeutic intervention in the three participants’ loss and grief processes, I
gained insight to compose a therapeutic programme, as well as therapeutic guidelines and
intervention strategies and specific techniques that can be used when the therapist and the
client are involved in continuous psychotherapy.
The results of the study indicated that it is important to focus on unresolved issues that
happened earlier in the client’s life. Insight in the person as a whole, is required to be able

Die studie is kwalitatief van aard en is gebaseer op narratiewe pastorale gesprekvoerlng esook die proses van meervoudige refleksie waardeur die
navorsing gerig en aangepas word. As navorser was ek deelnemer in die proses van verandering waarin veralgemening genegeer is en die rol van persoonlike kennis beklemtoon is. Die terapie is gerig op proaktiewe optrede tydens die rasionaliseringsproses en is ten opsigte van elkeen van die deelnemers aangewend in pasmaakgesprekke waartydens hul unieke behoefles aandag geniet het. Deur die metode van eksternalisering is die invloed van werksonsekerheid op die deelnemers geeksploreer en is hulie aangemoedig om in 'n ander verhouding tot die probleem van werksonsekerheid le staan. Namate die deelnemers tydens hierdie proses belangrike skuiwe op die vlak van identiteit gemaak het, ken hulie die toekoms met nuwe hoop bejeen. / The research was directed at the application of narrative pastoral therapy with breadwinners experiencing job insecurity during a process of rationalisation. This qualitative study was based on narrative pastoral conversations as well as the process of multiple reflection through which the research was directed and
adapted. As researcher, I was a participant in the process of change in which generalisations were negated and the role of personal knowledge emphasised. The therapy was directed at proactive action during the rationalisation process and was applied in respect of each of the participants in a customised conversation. The influence of job insecurity on the participants was explored through the method of externalisation and they were encouraged to adopt a new relationship to the problem of job insecurity. Research is carried out to determine what an accountable educational psychological practice, with
special reference to pedotherapy, should entail. A literature study regarding basic requirements of an
accountable educational psychological practice in historical and contemporary perspective is included.
A further literature study is executed concerning an accountable pedotherapeutic practice. A
theoretical grounding of pedotherapy is included in the literature study and specific attention is given
to an analysis of the concepts and ideas of pedotherapy. pedotherapeutic relationships, the diagnostic
approach and forms of pedotherapy. The nature and role of a view of human kind in educational
psychological practice is also discussed. Categories describing an accountable science of Psychology
of Education and its practice are presented. Subsequent criteria for the evaluation of pedotherapeutic
endeavour are formulated. Origins for and the value of a universal code of ethics for pedotherapists
are discussed against the background of a view of human kind.
By means of an empirical investigation it is determined what the current status of Psychology of
Education in theory and practice is. This investigation is conducted by means of idiographic
interviews and afterwards idiogrammes are compiled to determine to what extent practitioners are
conversant with theoretical foundations and an ontological view of human kind, the value of
evaluation criteria and the possibilities presented by the insights of Psychology of Education and how
practitioners approach their practice in ethical stance. Also the views of practitioners on current
prescriptions and their suggestions for improving educational psychological practice are obtained.
A number of recommendations is presented in the light of findings from the entire study. A trial run

The diploma thesis entitled Specific needs of patients during negative pressure wound therapy, consists of two main parts, a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes findings from research and publications dealing with the issues of wound healing through local application of vacuum therapy, treatment with other methods of wet healing, the impact of long-term non-healing wounds on human needs and the role of the nurse in this scenario. The practical part of the diploma thesis refers to the quantitative research carried out by 46 respondents who were treated with a negative vacuum method, another method of wet healing or a combined form.

During treatment of diabetes mellitus by immunointervention or transplantation, it is necessary to monitor the markers of immune destruction or rejection of surviving insulin producing cells. An aim of this thesis is to improve the possibilities of following autoimmunity and to detect the survival of transplanted pancreatic islet in vivo. Partial aims included vitality testing of isolated islets for transplantation by measurement of respiration activity, observing the process of in vitro labeling of isolated islets with superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) contrast agent for subsequent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of islets and observing SPIO particles transport after transplantation. We also studied a new dual paramagnetic contrast agent combined with fluorescein intended for identification of the MRI contrast agent in samples for histology. Further, we assessed autoimmune reaction by evaluation of cytokine response to specific stimulation with auto-antigens. We tried to affect beta-cells destruction by polyclonal anti- thymocyte antibodies in a mouse experimental model. Local tissue factors, ischemia and infection (which are often the cause of re-ulceration) are the main pathogenetic factors for diabetic foot disease (DFD). Neuropathic bone metabolism disorder leads to Charcot osteoarthropathy (CHOA). The aim of this dissertation was to assess experimentally the effectiveness of new skin substitutes, evaluate local vasculogenesis in different types of cell therapy of DFD, the role of infection in recurrence of DFD and scintigraphic parameters of activity of CHOA. Our studies concerning local pathological processes in DFD experimentally proved that gelatine nanofibers accelerate wound healing and can be suitable scaffolds for cell transfer and skin regeneration and also that acellular porcine dermis is more effective in healing of chronic wounds then xenotransplants. Our studies concerning therapeutic vasculogenesis confirmed that efficacy of stem cells (SC) harvested from bone marrow is similar in efficacy to SC separated from peripheral blood after stimulation. We found no evidence for systemic vasculogenesis by means of a significant increase of pro-angiogenic cytokines, which confirms the paracrine effect of injected SC. Introduction: Simultaneous detection of disseminated tumor cells (DTCs) and circulating tumor cells (CTCs) was shown to be associated with an especially poor prognosis and increased incidence of disease-related deaths in non-metastatic breast cancer patients. We analyzed the occurance of DTCs in bone marrow and CTCs in peripheral blood in patients with primary breast cancer, we evaluated the correlation of their presence with other prognostic markers and we investigated the changes in DTCs/CTCs number at different time points during treatment. Materials and methods: Blood of 50 patients with primary breast cancer were used for immunomagnetic separation and detection of circulating tumor cells using the commercial available system the AdnaTest Breast Cancer™ (AdnaGen GmbH, Langenhagen, Germany). Bone marrow aspirates from 50 patients were analyzed for DTCs by immunocytochemistry using the pancytokeratin antibody conjugated with FITC (Monoclonal Anti-Cytokeratin antibody F3418, Sigma Aldrich, USA). Results: DTCs were identified in 30% (15/50) and CTCs in 22% (11/50) of patients. We found that DTC positivity could point to a significantly high risk of larger primary tumor size (p- value 0.011) and significantly higher risk of lymph node involvement (p- value 0.002). In this thesis, "Stages of social work with clients with Alzheimer's disease", I focused on the analysis of the most effective stages of social work. I found out that most respondents prefer a domestic informal care, corresponding to the stages of provided social work and unconditional acceptance of the patient. The sick person requires a sensitive holistic approach, accepting his individuality and ensuring dignity in all stages of the disease. The thesis was structured on the theoretical part, based on the findings of scientific literature dealing with the symptomatology and processes of Alzheimer's disease, characterized by basic treatment and care approaches. The theoretical part is followed by an own joint investigation, divided in a qualitative and a quantitative approach. The qualitative approach is based on a detailed case study which uses the methods of observation and interviews. Anonymous questionnaires were used for the quantitative method. The obtained data were summarized and analyzed. Due to the lack of data I concluded that the considered results can be obtained as irrelevant.
