Syftet med följande arbete är att utreda vad dans i skolan har för betydelse för barns utveckling. Undersökningen belyser även vad dansen som redskap erbjuder för möjligheter i skolans undervisning ur ett genusperspektiv samt ett mångkulturellt perspektiv. Arbetet ger en översikt av tidigare forskning kring dans och rörelse samt Gardners teori om multipla intelligenser. För att ta reda på dansens påverkan på barns utveckling användes en kvalitativ metod i form av intervjuer och totalt intervjuades sex danspedagoger. Sammanfattningsvis pekar resultaten på att respondenterna upplever såväl motoriska, sociala, emotionella som estetiska och kognitiva samt språkliga utvecklingseffekter hos sina elever. I undersökningen framkom dessutom möjligheter att utveckla ett ökat medvetet jämställdhetsarbete och gynnande av kulturmöten genom dansundervisning. / The purpose of this essay is to examine dance in school and its significance for the development of children. This examination also illustrates the possibilities of dance in relation to gender and culture in the school education. The paper gives a research summary regarding dance and movement and Gardner’s theory multiple intelligences. A qualitative research method was used and totally six dance teachers were interviewed. To sum up, the results show mobility, social, emotional, aesthetic, cognitive and linguistic effects for the development of the children. The examination also points out that dance bring the possibility of working with gender and culture meetings.

Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka hur lärare i årskurs ett till tre använder sig av multimediala verktyg för att främja elevernas språkutveckling. Vi vill också få kännedom om varför de använder sig av multimedia samt deras attityder till användandet. Våra frågeställningar är följande:  Vilken syn har läarna påmultimediala verktyg fö språutveckling?  Hur anväder läarna multimediala verktyg fö att fräja elevernas språutveckling? Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod i form av intervjuer i vår studie. Detta metodval gjorde vi för att få en djupare uppfattning om lärarnas användande och attityder till multimediala verktyg. Den sociokulturella teorin ligger till grund för vår uppsats, även literacy är en teori som vi utgår ifrån i vår studie. Vi beskriver också Gardners teori. Resultatet visar att samtliga lärare var positiva till att använda multimediala verktyg i undervisningen. Alla betonade vikten av mer utbildning om de tekniska verktygen. Det framgick att de vanligaste multimediala verktygen som användes var Activeboard och dator. Vi drar slutsatsen att lärarna inte aktivt använder de multimediala verktygen för att främja språkutveckling. / The aim of our study is to examine how teachers in grade one to three use digital tools to promote students' language development. We also want to know why they make use of multimedia and their attitudes to using. Our questions are:  What do teachers think about digital tools for language development?  How do teachers use digital tools to promote language development? We have used a qualitative approach through interviews in our study. This methodological choice we made in order to gain a deeper understanding of teachers' use and attitudes towards digital tools. The sociocultural theory is the basis for our study, while literacy is a theory that we assume in our study. We also describe Gardner’s theory. The results show that all teachers were positive about using digital tools in teaching. All stressed the importance of more education on the technical tools. It appeared that the most common digital tools used was the Active Board and the computer. We conclude that teachers do not actively use digital tools to promote language development.

För att få reda på om svenska lärare upplever att det finns ett behov av betyg i de tidiga skolåren (F- år 5) undersöker vi bland annat i detta arbete hur en amerikansk privat skola arbetar med (ovanstående)just betyg och bedömning. Där samlar vi på oss fakta och material som vi sedan tar med hem, sammanställer och delar med oss till den andra urvalsgruppen, våra svenska lärare. Rent kortfattat består därför detta arbete av två undersökningar båda med kvalitativa intervjuer/samtal som tillsammans sedan ger oss ett eller flera svar på våra frågeställningar.Vi ger en kortfattad betygs och bedämningshistorik samt vilka politiska ambitioner som eventuellt väntar vid maktskifte 2006, därefter går vi även in på våra svenska styrdokument. De teoretiker som refereras till i arbetet är Pierre Bourdieu, Lev Vygotskij och Jerome Bruner. Bourdieu behandlar habitusbegreppet och gemensamt för de andra två är att de på olika sätt stättar individen, i vårt fall eleven.Vårt sammantagna intryck av det vi undersökt är att svenska lärare inte efterfrågar betyg i de tidigare skolåren då de uttryckte rädslor för att lusten och glädjen skulle försvinna. Samtidigt anser de att betygen kommer försent idag. Vidare anser de att de redan arbetar med bedämningsdokument av olika slag men att den framåtsyftande individuella utvecklingsplanen numera ska fungera som en röd tråd för elevers skolgång. Därmed ska den uppfylla deras krav på bedömning. Däremot önskar svenska lärare att kraven på uppförande och ansträngning skulle införas och sättas på pränt.Lärarna på Our Lady of Perpetual Help upplever sitt betyg- och bedämningssystem som så rättvist det kan bli. Dock ville majoriteten av dem lägga till en kolumn för personliga kommentarer då de anser att det saknas på Report Cards. Tidsåtgången bakom dessa Report Cards varierade från lärare till lärare. Elevernas reaktioner på betyg var av olika karaktär men deras vana av att bli kontinuerligt bedömda framkom tydligt. / To be able to find out if Swedish teachers believs that there is a need of grades in the early schoolyears (F-5) are we in this essay first going to find out how teachers at an American private school deals with both grades and judgement of the students work in school. At this school we will collect facts and material that we later will share with the other choice of selection, the Swedish teachers. This essay contains therefore two investigations both with qualitative interviews and conversations that later will give us one or more answers of our questions of issues. We will give a short historic about grades and judgement in school and also some political ambitions that may come 2006 if it will be a change in our Government, thereafter we will look into the Swedish guidelines.The teoreticians that we will refer to in this essay is Pierre Bourdieu, Lev Vygotskij and Jerome Bruner. Bourdieu is dealing with the concept of habitus and the other two have in common that they in different ways support the individual, in our essay the student. Our overall impression of our survey is that the Swedish teachers not demands grades in the early schoolyears, because of their fears of the loss of joy and happiness. But at the same time they thinks that the grades are given too late. They do belive that they already are working with documents of judgement of different kinds but that the IUP shall work as an red thread through the students schooling. On the other hand do the Swedish teachers wish that the demands of behaviour and effort would be introduced and documented.The teachers on Our Lady of Perpetual do believe that their grade and judgement system is as fair as it can be. But the majority of them would like to have a checkbox for personal comments, which today is missing on their Report Cards. The amount of time behind the Report Cards is fluctuating from teacher to teacher. The grade reactions of the students where of different characters but it was clear that they had a habit of continuous being judged.
