Efeito da suplementação dietética com micro minerais orgânicos na produção e qualidade de ovos de galinhas poedeiras / Effects of diet supplementation with organic trace minerals on production and egg quality for laying hens

Sechinato, Alexandre da Silva 18 December 2003 (has links)
A experiment was conducted to study the effect of organic trace mineral sources supplementation on egg production and quality for laying hens. It were used 8 treatments: one treatment with every trace minerals on inorganic form, one treatment with all minerals on organic form and 6 treatments where only one mineral were organic. The trace minerals were: zinc, manganese, iodine, selenium, copper and iron. Corn and soybean meal diets were used. 672 babcock B300 laying hens with 48 week were used. The production parameters analyzed were: Feed intake, egg production, egg weight, egg mass and feed conversion. The parameters of egg quality analyzed were: specific gravity, haugh unit and eggshell percent. Data were summarized for 3 periods of 28 days and analyzed by SAS. The results for first analyzes of egg quality showed a decrease in Haugh unit for the treatment with organic iron (p<0,05) and a decrease on eggshell percent for the chelates zinc and copper (p<0,05), when this results were compared with the inorganic mineral supplementation. For the other parameters weren’t showed statistic differences. The results for egg production weren’t different for the tree periods, except for egg mass that was decrease to organic iron treatment in the last period (p<0,05). The experiment results suggest that the supplementation with organic minerals didn’t improve the egg production and quality for laying between 48 – 60 weeks of age, when its were compared with inorganic mineral supplementation.

The application of differential pulse stripping voltammetry in the determination of trace metals in wet precipitation

Le Roux, Shirley Theodora Rose January 1999 (has links)
Thesis (MTech (Physical Sciences))--Peninsula Technikon, Cape Town, 1999. / Wet deposition of toxic trace metals is the dominant mode of deposition in terrestrial ecosystems and contributes very significantly to their pollution burden. Wet deposited metals are dissolved in rainwater. They reach the vegatation in a form most favourable for uptake. Reliable analysis of toxic trace metals in rainwater is important in order to determine the impact they make on the environment. In this study, trace metals in rainwater and in dry deposition (as a control measure), have been analysed over a period of a year. These metals include cadmium, copper, cobalt, lead, nickel and zinc. The rainwater was filtered, acidified to pH2 and irradiated with UV-light. Dry deposition samples, were digested by heating in nitric acid before analysis. Differential-pulse anodic stripping voltammetry was used to determine cadmium, lead and zinc. Copper was determined by adsorptive cathodic stripping at pH7 after complexation with catechol. Cobalt and nickel were measured at pH9 by adsorptive cathodic stripping after formation of their dimethylglyoximes. Sampling was done on a daily basis from April 1996 to March 1997, on the campus of the Peninsula Technikon. The samples were collected over a 24-hour period. The total average concentration for the metals was 16.11 flg/dm3 for rainwater and 427flg/dm3 for dry deposition. Meteorological factors such as wind speed, humidity and temperature affect the distribution of pollutants and thus the trace metal levels. The levels of the metallic pollutants were thus evaluated against meteorological data. Differential-pulse stripping voltammetry is shown to be applicable for heavy metal analysis of rainwater.

Extração sequencial na interpretação das concentrações de elementos traços nos sedimentos do reservatório Guarapiranga São Paulo - SP / Sequential extraction in the interpretation of concetrations of trace elements in sediments at the Guarapiranga reservoir, São Paulo - SP

Costa, Cintia Moreira Marciliano da 13 September 2017 (has links)
The contaminants produced by human activities released in the environment may move from one environmental compartment to another and reach the water bodies, where they rapidly associate to particulate matter and are incorporated to the sediments. Thus, the relationship between water and sediment makes this compartment on of the main targets for concern and analysis, given its importance in cycling matter and in bioavailability of various chemical compounds to the water environment. The objective of this work was to study the geochemical behaviour of the elements Al, Fe, Cr, Cu, Zn, Mn and P in the surface sediments of the Guarapiranga reservoir (23°47\'S and 46°32\"W) by means of the sequential extraction technic consisting of four stages, followed by the detection in inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). Samples were collected from the superficial sediment in 14 (fourteen) stations strategically chosen, this way being able to know the heterogeneity of the system and to determinate the mobility of persistent trace elements and their spatial distribution in the sedimentary compartment of the reservoir. The samples were subjected to a drying process and then separating the silt fraction. The sequential extraction was made in four steps, fraction 1 acid soluble linked to carbonates, fraction 2 reducible to iron and manganese oxides, fraction 3 oxidable linked to organic matter and fraction 4 residual. All the process was done in triplicate and the concentration of the elements was determined by ICP-OES. Based on the results obtained by the sequential extraction, it was possible to evaluate the distribution of the elements in the four distinct geochemical fractions, as well as the individual mobility factor of those elements in the reservoir. The sum of the first three fractions composes the fraction considered bioavailable, while the difference from the total extracted represented the residual fraction. Parting from the results obtained it is inferred that the Guarapiranga reservoir has two distinct compartments, one more degraded that goes from point GU-05 to GU-14 that suffers from the impacts of the occupations in the surroundings and one more preserved that goes from point GU-01 to GU-04, with little influence from urban occupation in the surroundings. The degree of global mobility follows the tendency of up and down stream in the reservoir, next to the barrage.

An alternative proof of genericity for unitary group of three variables

Wang, Chongli January 2016 (has links)
In this thesis, we prove that local genericity implies globally genericity for the quasi-split unitary group U3 for a quadratic extension of number fields E/F. We follow [Fli1992] and [GJR2001] closely, using the relative trace formula approach. Our main result is the existence of smooth transfer for the relative trace formulae in [GJR2001], which is circumvented there. The basic idea is to compute the Mellin transform of Shalika germ functions and show that they are equal in the unitary case and the general linear case.

Eu atravÃs dos vestÃgios: subjetividade, memÃria e fragmento no projeto In dreams, de Luis Alvarez / I through the traces: subjectivity, memory and fragment in the project In Dreams, by Luis Alvarez

Pedro Henrique CÃndido da Silva 24 October 2016 (has links)
This dissertation aims to reflect on the autobiographical character of In Dreams project, created by the Belgian artist Luis Alvarez. The project consists of black and white photographs, made over two decades of banal and everyday records, which were later organized in a type of timeline. In this process, the artist sets your memories in motion, building a mazy and fragmented narrative. Our intention is to investigate a certain biographical trace present there (De Man, 2012; Arfuch, 2010). And think about how the subject behind the apparatus inscribe himself in the images he produces (Foucault, 2004). Our hypothesis is that Alvarez inhabits these images not through his face reflected on the photographic surface, but as a kind of presence marked in absence. We crossed In dreams as if collecting clues, as if we opened doors, as if we put together a portrait through tracks and traces. Starting from Benjamin (2001) we guide our gaze towards a past that is not ours, but rises before us as constellation, through its debris. To that end, we reflect about the place, or rather the non-place where this work parts from, investigating contemporary thought which understands image not as limited to the visual field, but as a landscape made of crossings and dissonances (Agamben, 2009; RanciÃre, 2012). It is in this border space that Didi-Huberman (2010) helps us to understand what posture is that which our gaze lets itself be affected by what we see, where the line between researcher and subject is so thin as to what separates dream from reality. In the search for this autobiographical subject, we investigated these images as bodies in motion, noticing the plurality of views and possible readings. However, we seek to give due attention to aspects of assembly and materiality of these images, not only as In dreams construction process, but as media produces thought.
