Införandet av digitalisering i Förskolan : - Förskollärares uppfattning om nuvarande Normer och Praxis

Sirka, Zainab, Rashed Talib, Rana January 2023 (has links)

Andersson, Felizia January 2022 (has links)
Studies at Uppsala university was from the beginning based in theology, which also mean that students of theology founded the student nations. In similarity to the separation between the church and the state in Sweden in the year 2000, all nations have a clear statement today of not being connected to either religion or politics, however, the question that rises is; to what extent has it been possible to leave the religious aspect on which they were founded. The purpose of this study is to analyze controlling documentation of Östgöta and Gotland´s nation closer to see if it is possible to identify elements of religion within them that can be interpreted as cultural religion. Based on the theory of cultural religion, with focus on Kasselstrand´s interpretation of “Belonging without Believing”, elements of religion will be analyzed as examples of how the nations as organizations struggle with the historical background of theology, and the strive to modernize and become more inclusive. The result presented, identifies cultural religion within the material, highlighting holidays and festivities as main sources, with the reasoning of the documents bringing the information of the ritual forward, and not necessarily the religious values. The result is also strengthened with Hervieu-Léger´s idea of group memory as a chain through time and society together with Connerton´sthoughts on the collective memory and how it can be interpreted as one way to explain the continuity of traditions and the upkeep of ceremony.

A Victorian Frame of Mind: The Thought of John Clark Murray

Terpstra, Charles Nicholas 04 1900 (has links)

John Clark Murray (1836 - 1917) held the Chair of Mental and Moral Philosophy at Queen's College from 1862 to 1872, and at McGill University from 1872 until his retirement in 1903. The purpose of the present study is to offer a close historical examination of a thinker who has often been treated as a transitional thinker in histories of philosophical activity in nineteenth century Canada. The opening biographical chapter establishes the Scottish cultural tradition in which Murray was raised and whose social and educational values he continued to perpetuate in his own writing and teaching. The Scottish tradition clarifies the critical discussion in Chapter Two of some of the ambiguities of Murray's position with regard to the philosophical movements of the nineteenth century. In particular, the difficulties of classing Murray with either the Scottish Common Sense Realists, the Neo-Kantian or Neo-Hegelian Idealists, or the rising group of 'professional' philosophers are considered. Specific elements of the intellectual framework of John Clark Murray's thought are dealt with in Chapter Three. Such characteristic concerns as the structure of knowledge, the relation of materialism and idealism, freedom and necessity, and moral philosophy are considered in themselves and as components of the unified order of truth which Murray found best expressed in Christianity. The final chapter focuses on Murray's effort to formulate a response to the social problems emerging as a consequence of industrialism. After establishing the ideological strength of Murray's economic and political liberalism, this chapter traces the efforts of a concerned liberal to understand contemporary problems and of fer solutions to them.
/ Thesis / Master of Arts (MA)

Nietzsche: Style and Perspectivism

Paton, Blake Alexander 04 1900 (has links)
Friedrich Nietzsche represents a radical departure from alroost all of the philosophical tradition which preceded him. His stylistic differences from the tradition in philosophy find their basis in his perspectivism1 a strong form of relativism. Perspectivism is the theory that there are an indefinite number of different perspectives on the world, none of which can legitimately claim to be the true definition of it. Nietzsche bases a number of interesting arguments about language, truth and logic on perspectivism. His perspectivism is problematic because it cannot be asserted as true without also encountering a paradox: if perspectivism is a definitive perspective on the world, then perspectivism is false. Nietzsche found a method of dealing with this paradox through his writing style itself, viz. through his style he exenplifies perspectivism without seriously asserting it. That means that his style constantly refers to and serves as an exanple of perspectivism, and yet he never plainly asserts that perspectivism is a true description of the world. Nietzsche's style is intended to distinguish him from the rest of the philosophical tradition because he thought that was the only way to have his ideas accepted: on his own terms standing in opposition to the rest of the tradition, especially Socrates. / Thesis / Master of Arts (MA)

Badiou's Inaesthetics and the Modern Dilemma

MacKenzie, B. Cameron January 2010 (has links)
The predominance of post-modern thought in the latter half of the 20th century has brought philosophy to a crisis of confidence in its ability to investigate and understand our current reality. The complacent relativism that has emerged from post-modern discourse leaves us unprepared to face either the dominance of a dis-associative free-market or the emergence of regressive fundamental totalitarianism. Alain Badiou tasks philosophy with recovering the process of logical investigation into the primary forces which shape our lives, and he does so by equipping philosophy with both a means and an end: philosophy is a mathematical ontology in the endless pursuit of truth. In an attempt to address the issues of infinitely relative position and totalitarian authority, I understand Badiou to draw most significantly from Wittgenstein's (not Sartre's) notion of the situation and Heidegger's notion of Being, placing both of these insights within the mathematical framework of set theory as informed by Paul Cohen, doing so in the distinctly Platonic spirit of an appeal to truth as the antidote to the sophistry of post-modern thought. Such concerns with the intersection of authority and position are distinctly modern ones, and for Badiou we remain caught on the horns of the modern dilemma of the undisputed Master and the infinite Place. The process of overcoming such a false dichotomy, Badiou suggests, involves a return to the scene of its founding in the century's imagination, the moment of its poetic enunciation. Through an investigation of the critical and creative work of Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot between the wars, I present their striking awareness of this problem and their attempts to overcome it, focusing on their respective moments of success and failure as understood through a critique based on Badiou's ethics and aesthetics. / English

Understanding tradition: marital name change in Britain and Norway

Duncan, Simon, Ellingsæter, A.L., Carter, J. 28 November 2019 (has links)
Yes / Marital surname change is a striking example of the survival of tradition. A practice emerging from patriarchal history has become embedded in an age of de-traditionalisation and women’s emancipation. Is the tradition of women’s marital name change just some sort of inertia or drag, which will slowly disappear as modernity progresses, or does this tradition fulfil more contemporary roles? Are women and men just dupes to tradition, or alternatively do they use tradition to further their aims? We examine how different approaches - individualisation theory, new institutionalism and bricolage - might tackle these questions. This examination is set within a comparative analysis of marital surname change in Britain and Norway, using small qualitative samples. We find that while individualisation and new institutionalism offer partial explanations, bricolage offers a more adaptable viewpoint.

An Architecture of Belonging

He, Xie 23 February 2021 (has links)
As the placeless globalization is accelerating around the world and especially in China, places that have strong ties to the particularities of a locale are desirable destinations to escape the generic monotony of placeless urbanization. The thesis here stipulates that even in a placeless globalization, opportunities exist to understand, interpret and celebrate local cultural phenomena. While many formal architectural artifacts may have outgrown their purpose and no longer have direct relevance today, a number of desires, customs and rituals persist as desirable conditions to be supported by architectural space. The thesis proposes to seek out an architecture, that embraces and reinterprets targeted aspects of the built form of traditional elements with modern means. / Master of Architecture / This thesis discusses possibilities to reinterpret the vernacular. Specifically, the sense of identity generated by the architecture traditions in Western China can be attributed to shape and construction of the roof, organization in plan, the central fire place, and a protected courtyard all enclosed by rammed earth. Reinterpretations of those elements in modern forms propose a continuity of culture and identity.

A House in Bahrain

Al Aali, Maitham 13 November 2006 (has links)
The architecture in Bahrain is now lost between tradition and modernity. The drastic economical changes that occurred there had a large influence on the architecture of the Island. My thesis is a study of the changes that occurred to the architecture of Bahrain over the past thirty five years. It is also a design of a modern house in Bahrain that does not neglect the traditional architectural values of the country. In my work I focused on using geometry and geometrical proportions which in turn unifies the different parts of the house in harmony. / Master of Architecture

A Contemporary Turkish Coffeehouse Design Based on Historic Traditions

Oral, Timur 16 April 1997 (has links)
The custom of coffee drinking in Turkey dates back to the sixteenth century coffeehouses of Istanbul, which were once important forums for community integration. Even though coffee drinking today is still an important custom in Turkey, traditional coffeehouses have lost their importance in urban areas and are rapidly being replaced by contemporary cafes that promote European themes. With the new generation placing less emphasis on traditional values and accepting a modernized lifestyle, the existence of Turkish coffeehouse culture is struggling to survive. The purpose of this thesis project was to develop a design concept for a contemporary Turkish coffeehouse franchise retaining important aspects of the traditional coffeehouses of the past. Historic features were identified through observations and visual recordings of historic Turkish coffeehouses and interviews with older patrons of traditional coffeehouses. Focus group discussions were held with graduate and undergraduate Turkish students enrolled at Virginia Tech to obtain information on their perceptions of traditional coffeehouses and responses to the idea of a contemporary coffeehouse. Based on the information gathered, design criteria were established for the design of individual coffeehouse components with a consistent image, adaptable to various sites and spaces. Coffeehouse logo, nameplate, and facade designs were proposed. Presentations for the design included detailed elevations, plans, sketches, and perspective views. / Master of Science

Motti och fläsk : Från skogsfinsk matkultur till värmländsk identitet och tradition / Porridge and pork : From the culinary culture of the Forrest Finns to the identity and tradition of the region of Värmland

Tönnberg, Madelene January 2024 (has links)
