The Study of High-Speed OC-48 Optical Transceiver Modules

Lin, Min-Ching 16 July 2003 (has links)
Abstract In this thesis, the fabrication and performance of the OC-48 optical transceiver modules applied in optical communication network are studied. The optical transceiver modules consist of two parts¡Gthe transmitter and receiver. In the transmitter, laser driver IC and 1310nm FP (Fabry-Perot) Laser are used. In the receiver, limiting amplifier IC and 1310nm ROSA (Receiver Optical Sub-Assembly) are introduced. The static response of L-I curve and dynamic responses of VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) are studied. The effective bandwidth of LD can be observed from dynamic response. These parameters can help us to determine the LD driver for use in high frequency operation. Then, the method of DC-Coupling circuit to drive IC can be successfully transferred to optical signal. The operation conditions of an OC-48 transceiver module are the laser output power of -6dBm, signal pattern of 27-1, and data rate of 2.5Gb/s. The result of eye diagram measurement can meet the mask of ITU-T standards with the deterministic jitter of 49.88ps (0.1247 UI).¡CAfter 1 meter fiber transmission, the receiver can meet ITU-T standard with deterministic jitter of 125.28ps (0.3132 UI). In the future, the receiver should be improved to get a lower deterministic jitter.

A Transceiver System Using the Human Body as Transmission Channel

Huang, Yuah-tse 14 August 2009 (has links)
This thesis consists of two subjects of research: A Digital Modulation bit error rate study for transmission using the human body as the transmission channel, and signal coupling using a piezo transducer. The first topic involves studying several kinds of Digital Modulation and application; the transceiver is implemented using LabView. The interface for transmission uses Piezo film transducers. A high pass filter is used to remove noise and interference. The bit error rate using Manchester-coding is measured. A brief discussion is presented justifying the choice of On-Off Keying (OOK) modulation to transmit data on the human body. The second topic is a study on the design and implementation of a human body transmission system. A test chip is designed in TSMC 0.35£gm 2P4M CMOS process and first measured results are presented.

Gray Transceiver: A Multi-Robot Communication Interface and Protocol

Davis, William G 06 May 2017 (has links)
The use of multi-robot teams in the Robot Operating System (ROS) has encountered difficulty in advancement because of a lack of effective ways for the robots to communicate. Several attempts towards solving this problem have been made, but these approaches have had trouble with either low fault tolerance or high network load. The Gray Transceiver is an interface and communication protocol for inter-robot communication using ROS. The Gray Transceiver leverages multicasting for reduced network load and increased fault tolerance. Results from simulations, high throughput testing, and live multi-robot evaluations are included. The live mult-robot and simulation evaluations show that it functions properly operating across multiple robots while tolerating faults. The high throughput test shows how the Gray Transceiver operates under high load across a several types of conditions.

The Performance Evaluation of an OFDM-Based IP Transceiver at Eglin AFB

Berard, Alfredo, Cook, Paul, Roach, John 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2010 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Sixth Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 25-28, 2010 / Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, California / The 46th Test Wing, 846th Test Support Squadron (846 TSS/TSI) at Eglin AFB is currently evaluating their airspace for the use of SOQPSK transmitters and receivers for telemetry. The Squadron will incorporate an IP-compatible OFDM transceiver from Teletronics Technology Corporation (TTC) that will provide a two-way communication channel for controlling configuration settings of the airborne SOQPSK transmitter and receiver. This provides an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of an airborne network instrumentation system and measure some critical parameters, with an opportunity to assess the performance and reliability of streaming telemetry and OFDM-based IP communication systems. This paper describes the experimental test setup created for this evaluation and summarizes the measurement and evaluation process.

TELEMETRY TRANSCEIVER DESIGN USING BOC SIGNAL

Dongkai, Yang, Li, Du, Qishan, Zhang 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2007 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Third Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 22-25, 2007 / Riviera Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / This paper focuses on the transceiver design using BOC signal in the telemetry field, including the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter is similar as that using BPSK except from the sub-carrier modulation. But the receiver design is totally different because the BOC signal has different performance. The acquisition methods of BOC signal have been discussed such as the single-side BPSK-like, double-sides BPSK-like and hybrid processing methods, which can restrain side-peak and eliminate ambiguities. The three acquisition process principles and their performances include arithmetic complexity are described, compared and simulated using MATLAB.

SOFTWARE RADIOS APPLYING TO THE DGPS TRANSCEIVERS

Wu, Hao, Zhang, Naitong 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 25-28, 1999 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / To make the DGPS data link can be easily modified and updated, the ‘software radio’ technology becomes a logical architecture choice applying in a DGPS transceiver. This paper will discuss the system architecture and the key technology of software DGPS transceiver, which will become a multi-band and multi-function transceiver. It will operate at the uniform hardware platform to realize two receivers’ functions ¾ both the GPS receiver and the data link receiver (or transmitter). Then, this paper will give the design and implementation of the transceiver. Finally, it will demonstrate the simulation results of the system.

The Performance Test of an Initial iNET-Like RF Network Using a Tethered Aerostat in Japan

Tanaka, Toshihisa, Aoyama, Daiki, Ito, Sei 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2015 Conference Proceedings / The Fifty-First Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 26-29, 2015 / Bally's Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV / Through the use of early iNET-prototype IP Transceiver technology, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI) has been able to communicate with flight test vehicles during a recent research program. This technology provides a two-way high-capacity communication that has not been achieved with conventional telemetry and can be used not only for flight testing, but also for rescue work. KHI has been authorized to use S-band IP Transceivers since last year in Japan, and various communication tests have been performed. This paper describes Japan's first simulation of an iNET RF network which incorporated testing that performed data backfill, voice communication and video transmission. A data backfilling test was performed using retransmit of lock-off data (which is lost as the aircraft maneuvers) on command from the ground station. Moreover, a tethered aerostat is considered a very useful communication relay platform in the event of a large-scale disaster which results in the destruction of infrastructure. Also, the silence of an aerostat can be very important for search and rescue work.

Vägen ur laviner : När pudersnö gör ont - om att leva med smärtan efter en lavin

Sturén, Ulrika January 2006 (has links)
