Audience's behavior and attitudes towards lifestyle video blogs on Youtube

Audiences perform as a key factor driving social media nowadays, and there would not be any point to create video content on Youtube if there was nobody to watch it. It is therefore important to study audiences and their behavior in order to find out viewers' preferences and to understand what makes them follow Youtube channels.The purpose of this research is to find out what is audience's behavior on Youtube and its attitude towards lifestyle content on the video platform. Additionally, in the theoretical part of my research I will take a look at the phenomena of fandom and the relationship between advertising and audiences. I will apply social cognitive theory and cultivation theory in order to support my findings from reading materials. Using the method of semi-structured interviews, I will explore users' activity and their watching preferences on Youtube. In the analytical part I will combine both theoretical and practical approaches and figure out the answer to my research statement.To conclude my research, I will discuss my findings together with perspectives for the future studies within selected area.

In the dissertation study examines the basic concepts of the market videoblogging, clarified the place of the genre of video blogs in the system of media market and the market of content creation on the Internet. The main reasons to use a blog instead of or in addition to other channels of information dissemination. Disassembled basic differences videoblogging from traditional TV categories, allowing you to compare the performance of different projects. Systematic popular genres and instruments harmful content in the United States and Russia. Presents examples of successful projects, proanalizirovany factors that influenced the success. Grouped potentially significant factors in the success of the video blog on the Russian market. In the empirical part of the study, presents descriptive characteristics of the main indicators, described a regression model that were selected to test the main hypotheses of the study and presents the results of analysis of relationships. / В диссертационном исследовании рассматриваются основные понятия рынка видеоблоггинга, уточнено место жанра видеоблогов в системе рынка СМИ и рынка создания контента в Интернете. Выделены основные причины использования видеоблога взамен или в дополнение к другим каналам распространения информации. Разобраны базовые отличия видеоблоггинга от традиционного телевидения, категории, позволяющие сравнивать эффективность различных проектов. Систематизированы популярные жанры и инструменты видеоблоггеров в США и России. Представлены примеры успешных проектов, проанализирвоаны факторы, повлиявшие на успешность. Сгруппированы потенциально значимые факторы успешности видеоблога на Российском рынке. В эмпирической части исследования, представлены описательная характеристика основных показателей, описаны модели регрессионного анализа, которые были выбраны для проверки основных гипотез исследования и представлены результаты анализа связей.

Boktips 2.0 : En kvalitativ studie om elevers delaktighet i skapandet av boktipsvideor på en biblioteksblogg

The aim of this study was to, through a qualitative method, investigate students’ participation in a specific library blog to find out what motivate them to create and share digital book recommendations through videos. It also intended to describe the students’ own views of their participation.We conducted interviews with eight students in the ages 12 and 13, who all had similar experiences regarding the blog creation but diverse attitudes concerning the blog production and intentions to participate.The results showed that the strongest motivating forces behind the students' participation in the blog creation was that they enjoyed the making of the videos and also because they wanted to inspire others to read more and create resembling blogs.
