Responsiv webbdesign : Tekniska designaspekter

Wallin, Christoffer January 2012 (has links)
It is becoming increasingly common for web site owners to customize their site to low-resolution devices such as mobile phones. To implement such an adjustment there are several technical options. This paper examines the technical aspects that can constitute an obstacles for web developers when they meet their customers' demands for resolution-independent design, with responsive web design. The work includes a interview with a client that resulted in a product specification, which then was used as the basis for a prototype. In which responsive web design was tested and evaluated as a technical option. The study revealed several technical aspects that can be challenging,e.g. pictures and iframes,so due to varying support for CSS in different browsers and many web sites complex structure.

Designprincipers applicerbarhet på domänen streamad-TV / Design principles applicability on the stream TV domain

Alnebratt, Karl, Dalesjö, Gustav January 2009 (has links)
In our study, we investigated how the streamed TV domain relates to existing design principles for web design. Further, we have investigated whether there are specific characteristics of the domain that the design principles do not cover. In the survey we have studied two sites which are representative of the streamed TV domain. Finally, we discuss how applicable the design principles are for the domain and the specific characteristics that would require new or further developed design principles.

Responsive Web Design and Optimizing Loading Times on Mobile Devices for Enhanced Web Presence

Modé, Erik January 2014 (has links)
Surfing the web has moved from the stationary computers to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. As the technology moves further and more devices comes out on the market this is a trend that will continue. This makes it more important for web developers to adapt and make their websites fit not only for one device. The website needs to fit all devices. Since many of these devices are using wireless connections, the website performance has also become even more important in order to give the users a good experience.   Responsive web design is an approach for designing and developing web pages. By using the three techniques of flexible grid layout, flexible images and media, and media queries, websites can get a design that fits all devices. Responsive web techniques will also make the web page perform better on each device since it makes the web page adapt to its environment. There are several performance techniques that can be applied to a website in order to increase performance and loading time. Responsive web design including performance techniques can together make a great impact on a website's loading speed and user experience.   This thesis embraces this approach for web development. By developing a design theory, a website emerges where these approaches of web development have been implemented. During the development of the website the experiences implementing this approach and techniques is discussed. The website developed for this thesis was able to finish loading below 4 seconds on a mobile device using a 3G connection. We argue that responsive web design and performance techniques can help a website immensely to increase its user experience and performance.

Easy RWD : bridging discoverability and usability in responsive web design

Jellve, Kheiron Niclas January 2017 (has links)
Human-computer interaction problems have been approached by design practitioners and researchers for a few decades now. Usability is an established quality attribute that is used to assess how easy user interfaces are to use. Websites have been determined to benefit from such assessment, and responsive web design (RWD) is a fairly new approach to web design where usability problems have been recognised, and where usability focused research has been carried out. While usability testing can be used to determine how easy a RWD website is to use, it does not provide a detailed psychological model that tells the designer how to design RWD websites that are easy to use. Discoverability is a psychological model within the field of design in general, that can be implemented by designers who want to achieve a good design. No previous research has been carried out with the purpose of exploring how discoverability can be used to improve the usability of a RWD website, and the author of this thesis suggests that there is value in conducting such research, because it has the potential to provide new insight into how RWD websites can be designed in way that makes them easier to use. This thesis approaches the question by conducting a usability test on a RWD website, and uses the results of the test as a foundation for a suggested discoverability focused approach to improving the usability of the RWD website.

Responsivní webdesign / Responsive Web Design

Havelka, Petr January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to create a comprehensive material that covers the basic knowledge of theory and practices necessary to understand the whole complexity of the Responsive Web Design (RWD). This thesis first focuses on the RWD origin and its two approaches. Furthermore, the work deals with technical solutions of the RWD and technologies that enabled its creation or were found useful for it. This part also mentions tools which simplify the work with given technologies. The next part is devoted to Responsive CSS Frameworks as being the base for creating responsive websites and shows layout examples where two different approaches and frameworks were used. At last an issue of testing responsive websites is discussed.

Vad kännetecknar en effektiv webbplats inom B2B-företag? / What characterizes an effective B2B website?

Pettersson, Lovisa January 2018 (has links)
It’s difficult to say how a B2B web site should be designed to create efficiency, but this thesis investigates which guidelines exist as to what content can make a website more effective. There are many differences between B2C and B2B companies, and one of them is B2B companies' pursuit of a strong and longterm relationship with their customers. Using content marketing to create content that the company's customers find interesting therefore becomes important and effective for B2B companies. To investigate what B2B companies websites contain, a small visual content analysis was conducted. The survey showed that today's B2B companies need to be better at using content marketing that is interesting to their customers rather than sharing information about the company's own products and services. Good content can be created using case studies, social media and a wellthought- out language. It also showed that B2B companies can benefit from more personal communication with their customers by for example writing topics that the company cares about which create engagement with the recipient.

Restriktivt, impulsivt och effektivt? : En studie om hur dark patterns påverkar konsumenter vid näthandel / A study on how dark patterns affect consumers in online shopping

Larsson, Clara, Kvarnåsen, Josefine January 2020 (has links)
Not all designs have the user's best in mind. Dark patterns are web design whose goal is to exploit, deceive and negatively affect the consumer. Based on this, the purpose of this study is to give consumers an increased understanding of how they can be affected by dark patterns in their everyday lives. The question "How effective are dark patterns in e-commerce in order to negatively affect consumers' decisions?" was investigated through the use of a web-based survey. Through this survey, the respondents answered questions about their habits and experiences regarding situations where dark patterns are common on e-commerce sites. The study has focused on dark patterns called hidden costs, hidden information, countdown timers, limited-time messages and low stock messages. The survey has revealed that hidden costs was the dark pattern that most effectively fulfills its purpose of negatively affecting the consumer. Limited-time messages were also shown to have a clear impact on consumers' decision-making when purchasing online. Countdown timers as well as low stock messages were shown to have low efficiency in affecting consumers, meanwhile, data regarding hidden information could not show reliable results and needs further research.
