[en] METROLOGICAL RELIABILITY OF THE DYNAMOMETRIC BENCH FOR ENGINE TESTING OF CTEX / [pt] CONFIABILIDADE METROLÓGICA DO BANCO DINAMOMÉTRICO PARA ENSAIO DE MOTORES DO CTEX

SERGIO BRAGANTINE GERMANO 16 July 2014 (has links)
[en] This work intended to evaluate, metrologically, a specific bench of dynamometric tests, used to analyze the efficiency of engines, lubricants and fuels, through methods that compare the measured values with standards. The measured quantities were: rotation speed of the engine shaft, torque on this same shaft, temperature and pressure of both engine and dynamometer, element that acts as the engine brake so it can simulate a real work condition. It was necessary to use two different methods to evaluate each measured quantity. It was measured the working engine speed and simulated speeds, both higher and lower than the engine operating speeds, establishing the higher and the lower limits of the measurement system. To evaluate the torque measurement, known torques (standards), were produced, and related to the measured torques in the working engine. Temperatures were produced by a thermal bath, measured with calibrated equipment, and then compared with the temperatures indicated by the measuring system, being also used a simulated method for temperatures information, with a range of simulation between -200 Celsius degrees and 650 Celsius degrees. The pressures were created by a standard pressure pump and read by the measuring system, being detected an inappropriate operation of 2 channels. The results were treated statistically, being validated the utilizations on the executed calculations. Having been statistically confirmed the validity of the results, the measurement uncertainties were calculated, being also used the information from the equipment calibration certificate. Suggestions were presented so that improvemenst can be made to the Measuring System.

Etude et développement de capteurs tactiles flexibles à détection harmonique vers la fonctionnalisation sensitive des surfaces / Study and development of harmonic detection flexible sensors for sensitive functionalisation of surfaces

Selmene ep Ben Hassine, Nissem 05 December 2016 (has links)
The advent of sensitive interfaces is promising prospects to the human-machine interaction. We propose a new concept of sensitive flexible surface. Its aim is to study the interaction between electrical signal and resistive and dielectric environment of the support in order to realize an acquisition system providing machine readable information. The technological base is a waveguide on flexible substrate on which the touch creates a reflection at the input port. We have developed a location method as an alternative to the time domain reflectometry (TDR). It is named Harmonic Detection and Location (HDL) and it allows using a narrow band, around 100 MHz, low complexity acquisition system. The concept has been approved using measures on flexible and rigid sensitive surfaces connected to a vector network analyzer (VNA) used as reference. A compact acquisition system based on a Wheatstone bridge associated to a phase detector has been developed. For this purpose, errors characterization and identification work has been done. Electromagnetic interactions between the finger and the waveguide, waveguide imperfections, substrate nature and acquisition system errors’ impact have been studied. This knowledge has provided the possibility to co-develop the hardware and the detection algorithm to demonstrate a location accuracy of 2cm. Fundamental principles of this work provide the possibility of realizing large surface interfaces, with simple connection and conformable, for 3D sensitive objects.

Baccar, Sahbi 14 November 2012 (has links)
This work is dealing with the modelling of analogue and mixed signal circuits. Moreprecisely, we focus on modelling the circuits of an analogue front-end which is used in down-holedrilling industry for instrumentation and measurement purposes. This research had as a goal tomodel the temperature increasing effect in the behaviour of each circuit of the considered frontend. The studied circuits belong to the family of “conventional” circuits. Most of these circuitsoperate in a temperature which does not exceed 125°C. Even if the behaviour of the circuit changesdue to an increasing of the temperature, there are some well-know techniques that enable thecompensation of such effects. However, in order to obtain a precise simulation in the design phase,it is very important to have accurate models that describe the temperature increasing effect. Asmost of the commercial circuits models are written in SPICE, it is necessary first to review theaccuracy of SPICE models in high temperature (HT). This work focus on a specific circuit: theoperational amplifier (opamp). This device is present in many instrumentation circuits. Obtainingan accurate op-amp model in HT will help us develop accurate models of these circuits byconsidering their architectural description which is based on the opamp model. The work starts with the study of the structure of the SPICE model of the considered opamp. This study enables us to confirm the non-validity of the SPICE model in HT. The validity studyconsists in comparing the SPCE simulation results of two parameters (the voltage offset and thecommon mode rejection ratio) to measurement results. Moreover, we present an interpretation tothe difference that was observed in this comparison. After comparing different modellingapproaches, we select the behavioural modelling one. The VHDL-AMS was used to develop thenew precise opamp model in HT. The simulation is performance in Cadence/ADVanceMSenvironment. The representation of each opamp parameter is validated by a specific circuit. Thismodel is developed in two steps. In the first step, we develop an opamp model in which there is noconsideration of the temperature effect. In the second step, dependence of each parameter to thetemperature is described by a polynomial or exponential function. This function is the result of thefitting process of the measurement results. These equations are inserted in the VHDL-AMS model. All parameters are again validated in each temperature. The test-circuit is the same circuit used inthe experimental test of the opamp parameters. The average error between measurement andsimulation does not exceed 3.11%. In the last chapter, we simulate some circuits of the theanalogue front-end of an acquisition system. We simulate for example the effect of the temperatureeffect on the accuracy of a Wheatstone bridge. Three architecture of an instrumentation amplifierwere also modelled and simulated in different temperature of [20°C, 220°C] in the basis of thedeveloped opamp model.

Konceptframtagning och mätning av laster på kingpin / Concept generation and measurement of loads on kingpin

Albeik, Dania January 2024 (has links)
Scania, a world-leading company in truck and bus manufacturing, strives to create sustainable and environmentally friendly products through careful research and testing. This report focuses on measuring the dynamic loads on a kingpin, a component that connects the towing truck to the trailer. All horizontal force is transmitted via the kingpin, making it essential for the safety of the truck. Standardized tests ensure that the strength of the coupling components is sufficient to withstand the loads they are subjected to. The aim of this thesis is to develop a measurement method for measuring the horizontal forces. This knowledge will enable the development of both physical and virtual testing methods. Measuring dynamic loads on a kingpin has always been challenging due to its design, which is short and has three levers that constantly switch between loads. Understanding the force transmission between the truck and the trailer can facilitate further development, such as optimizing energy and efficiency in electric trucks. In this project, various methods were investigated to measure the loads on the kingpin using a chassis strength test rig (CH2 test rig). The advantage of the CH2 test rig is that the truck frame does not rotate, which facilitates the development of solutions that are difficult to apply in real driving conditions. A challenge in assessing the practical effectiveness of the proposed solution is whether the kingpin experiences sufficient strains due to its complex design. Therefore, a simplified concept with only a basic strain gauge was tested to examine this issue. The results showed that the kingpin experienced sufficient strains, indicating that a more advanced concept that provides more detailed and accurate results can now be implemented.
