New waviness measurement system using RGB LED lightsBiba, Panagiota January 2015 (has links)
Due to the rapid technological developments in the car industry and the high quality demands of customers, manufacturers and researchers focus on the reduction of surface roughness making use of various surface topography measurement systems. This master thesis focuses on development of a waviness measurement system (WMS) at Volvo Cars where light from different heights and angles illuminates the surface of an extended object in order to acquire images with different intensities due to shadowing effect and reflection. With this, surface irregularities and imperfections can be detected both in polished and unpolished surfaces for improving the car panels in the manufacturing process. The initial WMS idea was to illuminate the surface at different heights from the four corners of a dark room using 20 flash lights and a camera positioned exactly on the top of the surface in the middle of the room. The first light goes on and the image is acquired. This procedure continues for all flash lights in 19s.The acquired images were evaluated by Matlab application. With the new WMS system flash lights are replaced by 32 RGB COB LED lights using the DMX512 protocol to communicate with them. The system runs in 9s which is half the time of the old WMS system. New LabView and Matlab codes were adjusted to the new parameters and devices. In the end, measurements were taken with different surfaces, exposure times and color lights. Details of the new devices and software are analyzed in this thesis.

Förstudie till implementering av papperslös verkstadEkström, Johanna, Emanuelsson, Stefan January 2012 (has links)
Under sommaren 2012 genomfördes ett examensarbete på Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB i Trollhättan gällande möjligheterna att införa papperslös verkstad. Syftet med examensarbetet var att kartlägga möjligheterna att minska administrativ hantering av produktionsorderkort och öka realtidsuppdatering. För att avgränsa studien avsåg examensarbetet endast flödet av produktionsorderkort ifrån planeringsavdelningen genom två produktionsgrupper och vidare in på godsavdelningen. För att kartlägga flödet för den manuella hanteringen av produktionsorderkort upprättades värdeflödesanalyser. Dessutom genomfördes ett studiebesök på Volvo Aero Corporation för att se hur ett annat företag har gjort för att eliminera elektronisk produktionsorder. Utifrån värdeflödesanalyserna och studiebesöket identifierades tre frågeställningar vilka ansågs vara betydelsefulla för att kunna införa elektronisk produktionsorder. Dessa var huruvida affärssystemet klarar av att hantera införande av elektronisk produktionsorder, hur spårbarheten av material skall bibehållas samt hur godsavdelningen skall få information om var detaljer skall förflyttas. För att besvara dessa frågor genomfördes 15 intervjuer med personal från Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery i Trollhättan, med personal från huvudkontoret i Finspång samt med personal från systemutvecklingsföretaget Else AB. Informationen från alla intervjuer samt studiebesöket på Volvo Aero Corporation belyser möjligheterna och problemen med att eliminera produktionsorderkorten och sammanställdes i en utvärdering. Denna utvärdering ligger till grund för kartläggningen av det framtida tillståndet, vilken visar ett tänkbart arbetssätt när produktionsorderkorten tagits bort och ersatts med elektronisk produktionsorder. Det som huvudsakligen belyses i det framtida tillståndet är att affärssystemet är förberett för elektronisk produktionsorder, dock rekommenderas införande av Warehouse Management System samt ett transportssystem. För att underlätta implementering av elektronisk produktionsorder skulle införande av ett webbaserat användargränssnitt vara lämpligt.

Study and Implementation of a Web GIS with Flashli, Hsin-cheng 20 January 2011 (has links)
Google announced Google Maps Service on June 2005, and they developed and used many technologies to solve performance balance issue that long existing in client-server GIS system, including Ajax, map data pre-processing, and browser's cookies system. OGC defined this mechanism as WMS-C. However, Ajax is a technology based on HTML and javascript, when processing mass spatial data, it could be the bottleneck of performace. Therefore, using browser plugin to improve performance on data processing is necessary.
This paper discuss on WebGIS related technologies, including CGI, Java Applet, Ajax, Flash, and compare their weakness and strength, then we focus on analyzing Java Applet, Ajax, Flash. Flash provides better graphics processing abilities, smooth interactive operation, fast display performance, make it suitable to be a WebGIS platform. Flash also support multi-platform and multi-browser, and it can be deployed with the same programming code. So this study chooses Flash and it's language Action Script to develop WebGIS client, backend with Mapserver to publish map data. We also use TileCache to pre-process aerial images of National Sun Yat-sen University into image tiles. Also it is overlaid with Kaohsung district map as vector data. The actionscript in the WebGIS core library include classes like Map, View, Layer, TMSLayer, FeatureLayer. It is fully implemented as a Flash based WebGIS system.
Lastly, we compare the Flash-based MapServer system with MapServer only regarding to there performance and interactivity. On loading vector data, flash performance is nearly equal to Mapserver. When vector panned, flash performs better because flash uses pre-loading image tiles, but Mapserver renders repeatly after every move. On interactivity, flash can directly zoom the map with mouse wheel, and it can shorten user¡¦s operating time. And flash can also dispaly animations like fade in, out, etc. After removing one single layer, the map still preserve the other layers, so users can handle the map information more precisely, and can reduce the loading of servers.

Esta dissertação teve por objetivo analisar a influência do sistema de gestão de armazenagem (WMS) nas organizações usuárias estudadas, a partir da pesquisa bibliográfica realizada acerca do tema estabelecido e da análise de conteúdo das informações provenientes das entrevistas semiestruturadas efetuadas num estudo multicasos envolvendo duas empresas desenvolvedoras do software WMS e três organizações usuárias desta ferramenta. Dessa forma, foi possível identificar e analisar os pontos fortes e fracos do sistema, bem como as funcionalidades atualmente oferecidas ao mercado. Após a análise de tais informações, pode-se concluir que os fatores-chave para que ocorra uma implantação bem-sucedida do sistema são: o apoio da alta gerência, a realização prévia de um treinamento do pessoal envolvido na operação, o bom mapeamento e formalização dos processos organizacionais da empresa usuária, assim como a execução de um cadastro assertivo de produtos e endereços. Dentre os benefícios provenientes da adoção do sistema, além daqueles mencionados pela literatura, identificou-se a ocorrência de uma maior satisfação e motivação da equipe operacional, em virtude da mudança para uma rotina de trabalho mais organizada. Por fim, como tendências para o aprimoramento do WMS foi relatado: a integração do sistema com a tecnologia RFID, o desenvolvimento de novos relatórios gerenciais e a vinculação da mobilidade à ferramenta, disponibilizando o seu uso via tablets e smartphones. / This dissertation aimed analyze the warehouse management system (WMS) influence on the studied companies, from the literature research about the established theme and the content analysis of the informations derived from semi-structered interviews performed in a multi case study surrounding two enterprises that develop the WMS software, and three organizations that are users of it. Thereby, was possible identify and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the system, as well the features currently offered to the market. After the analysis of this informations, it can be conclude that the key factors for the success of the implementation are the top management support, employees previous training, good mapping and formalization of user company\'s process, as the execution of a registration assertive products and addresses. Among the benefits arising the system adoption, besides those mentioned on the literature, was identified the occur of a greater satisfaction and motivation of the operational team, due to the work rotine change to a more organized way. Finally, as the trends of WMS improvement, was related: the integration of the system with the RFID technology, development of betters management reports and the link between the tool the mobility, making its use for tablets and smartphones.

the extent that manage much of logistics that is implemented and controls the
storage from its origin to its final point. Among the processes of a CD, is the shipment
of product for subsequent separation. Distribution Centers implement the fractional
separation (rack flow) have constantly problems conference output products, waste
and increasing the quality of decreasing process. This work aims to analyze the
quality of separation and inspection of rack flow of products on a CD in order to
ensure the quality of delivery to the final consumer. One high error rate in the
separation process and also inspection of products and proposed an alternative in
the inspection process was detected for identify errors and correct them. The results
showed that the proposed process and analyzed, based on a precision scale,
decreased the return of errors and identified the inspection errors in order to
practically zeroing them. In addition, based on the results, analyzed and proposed a
modification of the separation process. / Os Centros de Distribuição (CD) vem empenhando um papel importante na cadeia
de suprimentos, na medida que gerenciam grande parte de logística que é
implementada e controla o armazenamento desde sua origem até ao seu ponto final.
Dentre os processos de um CD, encontra-se o de separação de produtos para
posterior expedição. Centros de Distribuição que implementam a separação
fracionada (flow rack) apresentam, constantemente, problemas de conferência de
produtos de saída, aumentando o desperdício e dminuindo a qualidade do processo.
Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a qualidade da separação e inspeção dos
produtos do flow rack em um CD, a fim de garantir a qualidade da entrega para o
consumidor final. Foi detectado um alta taxa de erros no processo de separação e
também de inspeção dos produtos e proposta uma alternativa no processo de
inspeção para indentificar os erros e corrigi-los. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram
que o processo proposto e analisado, baseado em uma balança de precisão,
diminuiram os erros de devolução e identificaram os erros de inspeção de forma a
praticamente a zerá-los. Além disto, baseados nos resultados, analisada e proposta
uma modificação do processo de separação.

Exploration of the Wechsler Memory Scale Fourth Edition and Measures of Executive Function Combined Components ModelTourgeman, Isaac 01 January 2015 (has links)
While memory is the faculty that affords us learning, adaptation and development, it is our executive function that oversees, manages and organizes these abilities. Still, there is limited research on the interaction between memory and executive function. The present study investigated this relationship through Principal Components Analysis. Performances on accepted measures of memory and executive function were evaluated in an adult clinical sample. Components were retained using three criteria: a predetermined four-component structure, eigenvalues exceeding a value of one, and parallel analysis. Results demonstrated that a four-component model most accurately represented the data. Analyses also revealed that measures of immediate and delayed memory did not uniquely assess memory but instead loaded onto components associated with visual and verbal processing. The findings were shown to be in support of the brain working in an integrated, systematic manner in which abilities hierarchically ascend from arousal to tertiary function. Consequently, several accepted measures of memory and executive function failed to measure cognitive capacity unique from visual and verbal processing, placing their construct validity and efficacy in question.

This thesis has been performed at consulting firm Sweco Position in Jönköping. The thesis is divided into two main sections: theoretical and practical. The theoretical section contains an investigation into the possibilities of implementing a geographical information system (GIS) for administrations of wells with the integration of Bing Maps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. The practical work comprises the development of a prototype for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. The students review the Model-View-ViewModel-pattern on a theoretical basis, compares the differences between Windows 8 Pro and Windows RT. The thesis also contains and investigation into the pros and cons of a web based application compared to a native one. The result of the thesis will be comprised of a GIS-service developed in C# in co-operation with XAML with the options of saving data locally and a WMS-based service layer for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. / Detta examensarbete har utförts på konsultbolaget Sweco Position i Jönköping. Arbetet har varit uppdelat i två större delar: teoretiskt och praktiskt arbete. Teoretiska delen omfattade en utredning kring möjligheterna att implementera ett geografiskt informationssystem (GIS) för administration av brunnar med hjälp av Bing Maps tillsammans med Windows 8 och Windows Phone 8. Praktiska arbetet omfattade skapandet av en prototyp till Windows Phone 8 och Windows 8. This thesis have been performed at Sweco Position in Jönköping. The work was split into two, where one part included an investigation regarding the possibility of developing a cross-platform GIS (geographic information system) with HTML5 and CSS3. A prototype would also be developed within this part. The second part included development of a cross-platform GIS for a client to Sweco Position. The client operates in the forest sector and had already an existing solution, with many problems. The client required an application with delimited functionality and which was not bound to a specific hardware. As the client users often were located in areas with limited Internet access, one additional requirement was that there would be some offline support. The students handle subjects within development of GIS, for example map projections, map services and mapping libraries. The application came to be developed in HTML5 and ASP.net. The mapping library that was used, was Leaflet 0.3.1. The result of this thesis is a cross-platform GIS with offline support. Examples of functionality included is to log positions manually, execute an automatic log function and support for managing which layers and logs that should be visible in the interface. / Detta examensarbete har utförts på företaget Sweco Positon i Jönköping. Arbetet var tudelat, där den ena delen omfattade en utredning kring möjligheterna att utveckla ett plattformsoberoende GIS(geografiskt informationssystem) med HTML5 och CSS3. För denna utredning skulle även en prototyp tas fram. Den andra delen omfattades av utvecklingen av ett plattformsoberoende GIS åt en kund till Sweco Position. Kunden verkar inom skogsbranschen och hade en redan befintlig lösning med många problem. Denne ville få fram en applikation med avgränsad funktionalitet och som ej heller var bunden till någon specifik hårdvara. Då kundens användare ofta befann sig i områden med tveksam uppkoppling, krävdes även ett visst offlinestöd. Studenterna går bland annat igenom delar som berör utveckling av GIS i form av kartprojektioner, karttjänster och kartkomponenter. Kartlösningen skulle komma att utvecklas i HTML5 samt ASP.net. Den kartkomponent som användes i projektet var Leaflet 0.3.1. Resultatet av examensarbetet är ett plattformsoberoende GIS med offlinestöd. Exempel på funktionalitet är att logga manuella punkter, exekvera autologgning samt hantera visning lager och sparade loggar.
