In which, as a participant observer realized that women had often double shift in capoeira, when they brought their children still small, and had to play capoeira. This dynamic fascinated me the way these women articulated to meet the goal of the wheel and cherish the minor children at the same time. Thus, as a matter of research, we intend to investigate: What is the role of women in capoeira groups? Therefore, it was defined as a general objective: to analyze the role of women in capoeira groups from the perspective of gender. In this perspective we were determined as specific objectives: to present a brief history of women in capoeira groups; analyze the female body in capoeira; draw a profile of the capoeirist woman and research the role of women in capoeira groups. As methodology, we used the bibliographic method, exploratory, field research, qualitative, redescriptive with historical analysis; The interview was used as a data collection technique, through a questionnaire structured with 15 open questions. The capoeirists women are stronger than you think, are more agile than you think, so these capoeirists demonstrate skills not only with his feet, but his cunning, seeking affirmation mechanisms in spaces outside, within and beyond the roost in order to (re) define their bodies through this art/fighting and ownership of this space as a well belonging to the female space.

In this context, the medical knowledge rested basically in Aristotle's natural philosophy and in galenism (that had incorporated the medical knowledge and philosophy of the Ancient World), taken up and reinterpreted by the Arabs. For women and female issues, the medicine, under the reasoning of these bases, represented a resumption of a long medical tradition that had distinguished, hierarchized and inferiorized the female body in relation to the male body, likewise the woman's body was intended only for reproduction. Identified mainly regarding to the works of Aristotle and Galen, this understanding has been assimilated and resignified in the writings of the Latin medical tradition (Etimologias, of Isidore of Seville) and in the medieval arabic tradition (De Genecia, from Haly Abbas and Canon of Medicine, from Avicena). As medical scholastics major auctoritates, the images and representations in these differents traditions accounted the main references to think the women and their body in 13th century medicine. It's about these images and representations that we examine for analysis throughout this work.

Vaghei, Sanaz January 2020 (has links)
This thesis, consisting of four chapters, explores female alienation and subjectivity as described by post-war French women writers. The first chapter will focus on critical and theoretical approaches to female alienation. Through feminist and Marxist criticism, I explore the condition of women as a dominated class. The second chapter examines literary strategies such as irony, humor, parody and satire used by the authors of my corpus to undermine and question gender stereotypes which they inherited from the tradition of the French novel. The third chapter is devoted to the issue of women novelists' uses of the figure of the naive female narrator. Through their reworking of this stereotype, they perform a political act of providing agency to a figure who was traditionally deprived of all agency. The fourth chapter analyzes the question of the female body. By playing with the concept of the grotesque female body and its representation, the novelists whom I study, attempt to liberate their female narrators from the status of an object and the influence of the beauty myth. What interests me most is the potential of feminist literature to create alternative representations of women in French literature. In the novels studied here, narrators move from a position of naivety and alienation to an unexpected sense of agency and subjectivity. / Thesis / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) / This thesis examines the evolution of the representation of female alienation and female identity in the postwar French novel, as well as the textual strategies of resistance used by three postwar French women novelists to subvert and rework the trope of the naive female narrator. My research project highlights the emergence of female agency in the French novel in recent decades through the examples of novels by Christiane Rochefort, Marie Redonnet and Marie Darrieussecq. The novels studied in this dissertation feature the point of view of female narrators who move beyond their initial naivety and passivity to discover unexpected forms of agency.

Divided between the hospital care service and the activities that made up the training of the midwives, the Maternity Dr. João Moreira constituted the productor and propagator center of new ways to understand and deal with the female body in childbirth, which in turn was significantly different from the previous methods of body reading carried by the traditional midwives, who then dominated the scene of the birth in Fortaleza city. The reviewed documentation, consisting of clinical cases, reports and statistical studies, also allowed the analysis of the gradual employment of technical procedures which surrounded the childbirth inside and outside of the Maternity Dr. João Moreira, with particular emphasis on the reorganization of the distances between nature and artifice, and its implications on the gestures professionals dedicated to the female body / Este trabalho pretende discutir os investimentos médicos que tiveram por alvo o corpo da mulher, na capital do Ceará, a partir da fundação, em março de 1915, da primeira maternidade da cidade, a Maternidade Dr. João Moreira.

Etnolingvistická studie / The Woman in the Czech Traditional Worldview The Ethnolinguistic Study

Christou, Anna January 2019 (has links)
The dissertation aims at the analysis of the traditional linguistic worldview of the woman in Czech. Theoretically and methodologically, the dissertation follows from the modern Polish ethnolinguistics, i.e. a discipline focusing on the studies of language in relation to culture, which uses the term of "linguistic worldview", referring specifically to the ways in which the values and experience of the particular society have been written into its language. The aim of the dissertation is to reconstruct the image (the stereotype) of the woman in Czech, i.e. to reveal the structure of stereotypical characteristics related to the woman in the language and the culture. The attention was paid primarily to the traditional image, built in the centuries before the dramatic changes of the society and the women's role in modern times. The analysis of the Czech vocabulary (including phraseology) and of the traditional songs lyrics, minor folklore genres as well as classical Czech literature has led to the reveal and subsequent characterization of four specific modes of the linguistic worldview of the woman, divided according to the three aspects (profiles) - the age, the appearance and the social role - as the young girl (maiden), the wife, the mother and the old woman. Each of them involves the general as...
