Påverkan av post-COVID hybridarbetsmodell på anställdas arbetslivsbalans / Influence of Post-COVID Hybrid Work Model on Employees´ Work-Life Balance

Albardonido Leonardsson, MaFe, Heydari, Ali Reza January 2024 (has links)
Purpose: This study aims to increase understanding of the impact of the hybridwork model on employees´ work-life balance in the post-COVID-19 era, while also identifying the advantages and disadvantages associated with this workmodel. Design/Methodology/Approach: A qualitative empirical study was conducted using semi-structured interviews analysed through thematic analysis with an inductive approach. The search terms included phrases related to the hybrid workmodel, work-life balance, work from home, work from the office, employees, and post COVID-19. Thorough screening of titles, abstracts, and full texts was performed to select studies that met the inclusion criteria.   Findings: The hybrid work model enhances employees´ work-life balance, encompassing various themes, including flexibility, the work environment, economic advantages, social interaction and communication, technological role, and challenges/boundaries between work and private life. Additionally, advantages and disadvantages were considered in this study. While these themes offer benefits such as flexible time and reduced absences from work and travel expenses, they also present disadvantages such as a lack of ergonomic furniture when working at home, weakened bonds between colleagues, concerns about maintaining a strong organizational culture, and potential decreases in collaboration and cohesiveness in team performance.   Research Limitations/Implications: This study is limited to ten (10) employees working in white-collar jobs in Sweden, and further research should include bluecollar workers and increase the number of respondents to gain deeper insights and understanding into the impact of the hybrid work model on employees´ work-life balance. Furthermore, the study solely focuses on the perspective and experiences of employees, and it could be beneficial to consider both the viewpoints of employers and employees in future research. Originality/Value: This study contributes to existing organizational policies and regulations by providing insights into how organizations can improve their support for employees to achieve a healthy balance between work and private life. By highlighting both the advantages and disadvantages associated with this workmodel in the post-COVID-19 era, organizations can better understand the importance of their role as employers in balancing employees' work life balance in the current hybrid work environment.

The politics of post-industrial cultural knowledge work

Stettler, René January 2011 (has links)
This dissertation conducts in-depth inquiries into the practices, nature and theory of post-industrial cultural work and the humanities- and arts-based civic dialogues which cultural work promotes. Given the broad neglect of utopian thinking in the mainstream of critical social science and in an attempt to sketch out a vision of an alternative future, the aim of this thesis is to outline an “epistemology” for post-industrial cultural work as well as to reflect upon the outlook for educational cultural work practices and their function as a catalyst for civic dialogue and cultural change. The main concerns are the signification, interests and aims embodied in cultural production touching on issues of cultural and scientific learning, alternative modes of democratic governance of science and technology (Felt, Wynne et al. 2007), industrial society’s logic of accumulation and market rationality, the primacy of contemporary instrumental and capitalist values, neoliberalism, globalization and cosmopolitanism. With a view to addressing elementary questions regarding the future of cultural work, which are explored and theorised alongside future perspectives of a new form of knowledge work for the humanities and the arts, the actual challenges of cultural work are considered from within the wider context of the risk society (Beck 1986) and the threats which affect everybody today. In relying on Beck’s (2009) conceptualization of the world risk society as a “non-knowledge society” characterised by the global existence of incalculable risks/threats and non-knowing, the thesis addresses the problem of non-knowledge and unrecognised contingencies as a challenge for cultural work to design processes of (un)learning in civic dialogues. In exploring the social, cultural and political relevance of three empirical case studies, the thesis ventures into the prospects of a new socio-epistemological perspective for cultural work and workspaces for knowledge. The studies investigate three different (techno-)socio-cultural spaces of knowledge: a public exhibition about the new Gotthard Base Tunnel currently under construction in the Swiss Alps, Jennifer Baichwal’s film Manufactured Landscapes (2006) about the Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky and China’s industrial revolution, and the living intervention Fairytale at Documenta 12, 2007, which brought 1,001 Chinese citizens to Kassel, Germany. Actor-Network Theory (ANT) is employed as a tool for the analysis of the material-semiotic properties of differing knowledges, the heterogeneous relations of socio-economic networks, and the global and uncertain conditions of the post-industrial world in which cultural work is embedded. What is colloquially referred to as post-industrial cultural knowledge work in this thesis is elaborated in the context of a propositional socio-epistemological second-order framework (Von Foerster 1984; Pakman 2003) for cultural work and its entanglements with ethics, aesthetics, pragmatics, politics—and biopolitical production (Hardt and Negri 2000; 2009). In order to build “third spaces” of knowledge (Turnbull 2000) and to nurture uncertainty-oriented approaches and contingencies, the findings propose the development of more open, (self-)reflexive and anticipating forms of thinking and acting in cultural production fields with the aim to catalyse societal developments, to foster intrinsic values and to create cultural workplace identities with a moral-ecological-political awareness (cf. Banks 2006; 2007) invoking new interactions between viewers, audiences and the environment.

El Jazzar, Nivin, Eriksson, Anna-Stina January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to contribute to a deeper understanding of factors that are crucial for long-term well-being and health from an employee perspective. This by studying what employees in the social sector in Borlänge municipality experience contributes to well-being and health in the workplace. Furthermore, this study intended to give suggestions on how the work with health factors in Borlänge municipality can be developed. To best answer the purpose, a qualitative method was chosen in which the approach for collecting empirical data was semi-structured interviews with long-term healthy employees from the area of personal assistance. The results showed that factors such as supportive leadership, participation, autonomy, positive work climate and work-life balance were common in the respondents work situation, which are factors that has shown to have a positive effect on employees' health. Furthermore, the respondents' long-term well-being and health could also be explained by additional health factors that were identified in their work environment. The respondents described that security due to long work experience and work ethic linked to loyalty were factors that contributed to their well-being. The experience is described as a means of handling various situations that may arise in the work situation as well as stress reducing as it creates a clarity about what expectations are in the work and between colleagues. High work ethic due to loyalty seems to be rooted in a desire to contribute to the benefit of another human by being an important resource in his or her life. All in all, the results show that the foundation for successful environment work with health factors requires security and trust partly between the manager and employees and partly between the employees. Finally, the study's results show that, in certain circumstances, health factors may contribute to new opportunities for promoting work environment work.

Sociální práce s tématem smrti z pohledu krizových center / Social Work with the Theme Death from the Perspective of Crisis Centers

Firbacherová, Nicole January 2020 (has links)
89 Abstract The theme focused on the work of social workers, who work with people whose loved one has died, is very topical. Focusing on working with this topic is not so common, but it is very important to show that even social workers can work with such clients. The theoretical part defines social work, a social worker and their specialization specificity using the concept of PIE, further it deals with the method of crisis intervention, defines the terms related to death and possible reactions to it. The aim of the thesis was to answer the main research question: "How do social workers of crisis centers in Prague, with regard to the field specificity of social work, use the method of crisis intervention in situations of acute reaction to death?" To find the answear to the research question the method of grounded theory was used, but not in full, only its partial sections. The research was carried out with social workers of crisis centers in Prague. The research revealed how social workers at first get to know a client with an acute reaction to death and, subsequently, how they proceed. Within working with this type of client, they choose the method of crisis intervention, from which they use certain elements to stabilize the client from the emotional and physiological point of view. They use work with...

The new working life : a qualitative case study of theconsequences of the flexible working life from an employee perspective

Svensson, Viktoria, Larsson, Marcela January 2022 (has links)

Schmiedl, Nadja 16 September 2010 (has links)

Arbetsmiljöns betydelse för generation Z : Utmaningar och främjande faktorer för en hälsosam arbetsmiljö inom telefonrådgivande yrken / The importance of the work environment for generation Z : Challenges and success factors for a healthy work environment in telephone counseling professions

Gulliks, Erika, Thomsgård, Elin January 2024 (has links)
The aim of the study is partly to gain an increased understanding of how generation Z experiences their work environment within telephone counseling professions, and partly to gain an increased knowledge of which challenges in the work environment can lead to sick leave. The study was carried out in collaboration with a large private organisation in Sweden. From a Human Resources (HR) perspective, we see the need to gain an increased understanding of the employee's perspective to promote a healthy work environment for generation Z within telephone counseling professions. The purpose of the study has a qualitative approach and the research data presented consists of semi-structured interviews with respondents from generation Z, individuals born between the years 1995 and 2010. The thematic analysis generated four themes: Supportive functions for well-being in the workplace, experiences of telephone counseling as a profession, challenges in the workplace, and sickness absence culture. The results of the study show that the experience of collegial support is crucial for feeling good at work. The challenges are found in difficult conversations and increased emotional demands in telephone counseling professions among generation Z in our study. The result contributes with a confirmation of knowledge that already existed based on the challenges in the workplace that can lead to sick leave. The results show that generation Z: s wishes are not unique, but rather appear as a wish list that all employees have. To gain an in-depth knowledge of what promotes a good and healthy work environment for generation Z, future studies need to include several respondents, and to compare the employees' and the managers' experiences.
