Com o objetivo de identificar como os fãs constituem uma esfera de consumo de mídia ativo, foi escolhido como objeto o fansite brasileiro Potterish dedicado a Harry Potter. Utilizando a análise de conteúdo como metodologia, este trabalho considera sua estrutura e os trabalhos de fãs apresentados no fansite, as publicações da seção de notícias no último trimestre de 2015, os textos da seção de colunas com interpretações sobre a obra publicados em 2014 e 2015 e a cobertura realizada nos perfis do Potterish no Twitter e no Facebook sobre o anúncio do lançamento em livro do roteiro da peça Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Este trabalho se apoia no referencial teórico produzido pelos estudos de fãs, com destaque aos autores Booth, Duffett, Fiske, Jenkins e Hills, além de autores que colaboram para a compreensão da sociedade contemporânea, como Thompson e Canclini. Os resultados da pesquisa mostraram que a estrutura do fansite representa principalmente os prazeres de performance de Duffett (2013), relacionados às atividades cuja proposta é experienciar o fandom, a seleção de notícia reúne informações em português sobre as novidades relacionadas à franquia, as colunas do Potterish se destacam pelas interpretações da história não explícitas nos livros e a atividade do Potterish nas redes sociais apresenta coerência de linguagem e maior interação com os fãs do que o próprio site. O fansite se apresenta como um facilitador do acesso à informação para os fãs ao traduzir o que é publicado em outro idioma, compartilhar com os outros fãs e organizar de maneira que os usuários do site sejam capazes de se atualizar sobre o objeto de seu fandom. / The popularization of the Internet changed the way society is organized, including the ease - and speed – to access information, the ability to relate to other members of the public and the opportunity to create new readings of the original texts. In order to identify how the fans are an active media consumption sphere, the Brazilian fan site Potterish dedicated to Harry Potter was chosen as the object of this research. Using the content analysis as a methodology, this paper considers the structure of Potterish and the fanworks presented on the fan site, the news section publications in the last quarter of 2015, the texts of the columns section with interpretations of the story published in 2014 and 2015 and coverage held on Potterish profiles on Twitter and Facebook about the announcement of the publishing of the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This work is based on the theoretical framework produced by fans studies, especially the authors Booth, Duffett, Fiske, Hills and Jenkins, and the authors that contribute to the understanding of contemporary society, as Thompson and Canclini. Research results showed that the fan site structure mainly represents the pleasures of performance of Duffett (2013), related to the activities whose purpose is to experience the fandom, the news selection gathers information in Portuguese about what is new related to the franchise, the columns of the Potterish are highlighted by interpretations of the story that is not explicit in the books and the activity of Potterish on social networks websites shows language consistency and greater interaction with the fans than the site itself.

The thesis deals with the representation of children hero characters in the contemporary literature and movies for children and young people. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the influence of media and particular children fantasy heroes, Harry Potter and Isabella Swan. The practical part finds out children{\crq}s and students{\crq} opinions about media, books, movies and preferred and not preferred children heroes{\crq} qualities.

The concept of outsiders has been argued to be one of the main themes in childhood fairy tales in general and in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels in particular. Severus Snape is one of the most evident outsider characters in the novels, described as an unpleasant, ugly man presented as a double agent with uncertain allegiances. When the truth is revealed, in the very last pages of the series, he is discovered to have been an undercover spy for the good side all along. This essay examines Snape as an outsider, and analyzes his effect on the novel, especially his relation to the three characters with whom he interacts most: Dumbledore, Voldemort and Harry. All three of these characters are main characters and are also outsiders themselves in different ways. Examining the relations between good and evil and showing that these concepts are closely tied to choices and reactions towards being an outsider, the essay argues that the analysis of Snape as an outsider helps distinguish between aspects of good and evil in the novel. By focusing on Snape and the concept of the outsider, different dimensions of the novels become visible. Snape is here an instrumental character on his own, and may well be seen as the main character. Although the series in some aspects has been described as a fairy tale, the complex character of Severus Snape gives the novels a further depth appealing not only to children, but to adults as well.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur Harry Potter som karaktär framställs i boken Harry Potter och Hemligheternas Kammare i jämförelse med filmadaptionen med samma namn. Genom en semiotisk analys på två nivåer granskas karaktären för att se på vilka sätt karaktären Harry Potters personliga egenskaper och tankar har översatts och ändrats i förflyttningen från bok till film. I slutdiskussionen visas att Harry Potter har förändrats något i adaptionen, men hans personlighet framställs i slutändan mycket som densamma. Att karaktären innehar samma personlighet och påvisar samma egenskaper är viktigt för att adaptionen ska fungera och gör att själva berättelsen i adaptionen inte måste vara fullt trogen till originalet för att ge samma bild.

The paper examines the philosophical themes of Free Will as opposed to Determinism/Predestination and how they are portrayed in the seven books about Harry Potter. It is discussed whether the character of Harry Potter, but also the world itself in which he acts, seem to be governed primarily by forces of Free Will and/or Determinism. The author concludes that though Harry is indeed strongly tempted to believe in Determinism, influential figures around him direct him towards a different choice - making himself believe in Free Will instead.

Bakgrund: Berättelserna om Harry Potter har intresserat många redan från bokseriens början 1997 och fick ett uppsving under 2016 i och med publicerandet av manuskriptet till pjäsen som utgör den åttonde berättelsen. Den tidigare forskningen behandlar inte bokserien i sin helhet, och då manuskriptet släpptes nyligen finns heller ingen forskning om detta, vilket öppnar upp för nya undersökningar av karaktärsutvecklingar och identitetsskapandet på Hogwarts. Då berättelserna nu finns att tillgå i sin helhet bidrar detta med nya perspektiv och insikter. Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att analysera den möjliga identitetsproblematik som kan uppstå i och med Hogwarts segregerade skolsystem. Metod: Genom undersökningar av karaktärsbeskrivningar av respektive hus på Hogwarts samt av utvalda karaktärer, görs analyser kring förutfattade meningar samt de konsekvenser de får på elevers självbild samt uppfattning av sin omgivning. Olika karaktärer kommer att diskuteras men primärt kommer Harry Potter att behandlas, och sekundärt hans son Albus Severus. Den teori som ligger till grund för analysen är forskning inom identitetsskapande och konformism. Resultat: Analysen uppvisar en problematik med elevernas identitetsskapande i och med Hogwarts segregerade skolsystem. Harrys generaliserande påverkar hans inställning till sin omgivning och hans egen identitetsutveckling drabbas av skolsystemet, och både han och hans son Albus uppvisar en oro för att inte bli placerad i "rätt" hus på skolan. Harry är den karaktär av de två som lever upp till sitt hus önskade karaktärsdrag, medan Albus snarare motsäger dem.

Uppsatsen undersöker miljöbytens funktion inom film och påvisar ett samband mellan miljö och hjälteresors narrativa utveckling. Observationer av filmerna Sagan om ringen – Härskarringen (2002) och Harry Potter och de vises sten (2001) utforskas i analysen. Det leder till ett resultat som visar att funktionen med miljöbytena är att visuellt skapa en bakgrund som samspelar med karaktärerna och att därigenom möjliggöra att nya händelser kan ta vid. Uppsatsen argumenterar därmed att miljövalen i filmberättelserna i sig påverkar berättelsestrukturerna.

Harry Potter-serien har kommit att bli en väldigt populär serie både hos barn och vuxna över hela världen. I både böckernas originalform och de adapterade filmerna har människor förälskat sig i berättelserna om Harry Potter och hans magiska värld. Det har gjorts flertalet studier om Harry Potter, där olika perspektiv behandlas utefter böckerna och/eller filmerna. I denna studie är syftet att jämföra den tredje boken respektive filmen i serien, Harry Potter och fången från Azkaban (2001; 2004), för att se vilka likheter och skillnader som finns mellan boken och den adapterade filmen.Studien tar hjälp av två analysmetoder: narrativanalys och komparativ analys. Med hjälp av dessa analysmetoder har en resumé skrivits som behandlar både boken och filmen i sin helhet. Analysmetoderna har även använts till att redogöra för och jämföra bokens respektive filmens uppbyggnad och genre, men också tre av de viktigare karaktärerna i de olika medierna.Analysen visar att karaktärernas viktigare egenskaper inte påverkas i adaptionen, detsamma gäller för berättelsens handling och genre. Vissa händelser och egenskaper som finns med i boken finns inte med i den adapterade filmen, vilket kan förklaras av att filmskaparna var tvungna att göra flera val i produceringen av filmen för att behålla kärnan i berättelsen.Uppbyggnaden påverkas i adaptionen genom att de olika medierna för berättelsen vidare genom skilda sätt, men berättelsens kärna hålls intakt. I undervisningssyfte går det att dra slutsatsen att denna berättelse, både som bok och film, går att arbeta med i undervisningen i årskurs 1-3.

This essay examines how J.K Rowling´s tendency to draw on intertextuality creates a relegation of female characters in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2014). By examining the link between intertextuality and the creation and portrayal of certain female characters in the most selling book series in history, Harry Potter, it is clarified how the use of intertextuality relegates female characters to retrogressive social constructs of gender. The three characters studied in this essay are Fleur Delacour, Molly Weasley and Petunia Dursley. The approach used is mythological criticism, an approach focused on the search for universality in a multitude of modern and historical texts. The main concepts used in this essay are the archetypal woman, postmodernity, gender performativity, myth, and intertextuality. Judith Butler´s concept of gender performativity is combined with Graham Allen’s definitions of intertextuality and postmodernity to understand how and why female characters in Harry Potter are relegated. Evidence has been collected from published journals, books, and encyclopedias. This essay explains how relegation is caused by shining light upon the link between character creation and the myths that the character builds upon. J.K Rowling has used archetypical female roles, such as the siren, the wicked stepmother or the mother, when creating her characters, thus relegating them to past beliefs of femininity, such as the woman as being exotic and dangerous. By examining both myth and postmodern texts such as Harry Potter one can gain a deeper understanding on how intertextuality can cause a postmodernist text to reflect past notions of femininity that would be viewed as retrogressive in a postmodern and postcolonial society.
