Tlumočnické aktivity ve výuce cizích jazyků / Interpreting activities in Foreign Language Teaching

Dohnalová, Karolina January 2014 (has links)
(in English): The thesis describes how has translation been used in foreign language teaching, which is closely associated with the attitude towards the use of a first language during a second language lesson. In particular, it focuses on translation exercises that use interpreting as the main objective, and pre-translation exercises that use individual skills needed during the interpreting process. The aim of the present work is to demonstrate that these methods can be useful in different types and levels of courses (interpreting as a method) and it does not have to be limited on the education of future interpreters (interpreting as the main objective). The practical part outlines the current situation in some institution in Prague which specialize in adult teaching.

Pártl, David January 2017 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the mathematical environment Bus realized through mathematical tasks in textbooks Hejný et al. The issue is aimed at pupils of the fourth grade of primary school. The main point of the theoretical part is study of gradual gradation of tasks in environment Bus from 1st to 5th grade of primary school. It was found that the frequency of the tasks in the textbook for the fourth grade is impaired and on the basis has been prepared experiment that complement the tasks so that the frequency has been unimpaired. The practical part includes the preparation of an experiment in which custom- designed tasks were formulated. They were linked with fourth-year primary school curriculum. By performing two experiments was obtained 262 pupil's solutions of tasks, in which were recorded and analyzed pupil's mistakes. This enabled to formulate phenomenons that could be caused by impaired frequency of tasks in environment Bus in textbooks Hejný et al. František Trávníček, osobnost a dílo ( se zvláštním přihlédnutím k jeho aktivitám lingvodidaktickým ) / František Trávníček, his personality and works ( with a particular focus on his linguisticmethodological activities )

Doležalová, Eliška January 2013 (has links)
Résumé This thesis deals with the personality and also with the work of Frantisek Travnicek, an important Czech linguist living between the years 1888 and 1961. Firstly, his life is briefly outlined, secondly this personality is introduced as an influential linguist of Czech Studies, as well as a long-time university official and teacher. His post-war political activities in the Communist Party are also mentioned. The thesis is focused on the works of Travnicek with a particular respect to his linguodidactic activities. One part is dedicated to his scientific writings and takes the cultural and historical context into account. This part summarises his considerably extensive and thematically varied work. Five essential areas of linguistics were defined (grammar, historical grammar, phonetics, phonology, word-formation and dialectology) which were much enriched by Travnicek. Nevertheless, there is a mention of some work which is of the kind that is impossible to label with any category listed, or the work which is represented in each category just by several writings. Finally, the influence on Travnicek's scientific activity is touched upon. The last and crucial part of the thesis tackles Travnicek's linguodidactic activities with respect to the context of the particular period. Concerning the topics of the...

What role the educational inspector is called to play in the production and the quality control on teaching?

Abbas, Moussa 03 December 2015 (has links)
After winning the challenge of schooling, the algerian educational system has been engaged for ten years in structural and teaching method reform to improve the quality of its teaching. The statistical and qualitative analysis of the results obtained at the end of the compulsory cycle exams, with regard to the tests, programs and french textbooks, suggets that this bet isn’t yet won. In the dynamic of this transformation, french educational inspector is called to play a more decisive role in the production and the quality control of teaching. From a field survey that establishes an uncompromising survey of the conditions to exercise this function, this study proposes a new role and new ways for improving quality in this field.

A study of mathematics performance of junior high school students under the divided assessment teaching method

Unknown Date (has links)
This research mainly aims at evaluating how divided assessment teaching method would effect junior students’ mathematics-learning performance in high school. A case study was conducted on science-team junior students in a Taipei-county high school, composed of 42 students in experimental group and 44 ones in control group respectively, amounting to 86. This experiment spanned as long as 20 weeks for analysis on how students’ learning performance would be benefited. It is thus concluded in this research after evaluating both 2 group’s learning performance in term of equal length of time as below: 1. Divided assessment teaching method would have positive effect on learning performance at significance level. 2. Although divided assessment teaching method has positive effects on learning performance for various learning style subgroups, these positive effects are not significant. Their relative improvements of learning performance seemed to be increased, too. 3. When evaluated in term of original-performance level, students’ learning performance in average-level and in inferior-level subgroups both would be benefited positively at significance level. 4. Students taking divided assessment teaching method would have more persistent learning attitude than those taking traditional teaching method. In summary, divided assessment teaching method could help teachers to offer more effective teaching-guidance to students who had inferior learning performance. As a result, students would not only persist in mathematics learning but also cultivate enthusiastic learning attitude gradually.

Designing for interactive and collaborative learning in a web-conferencing environment

Bower, Matthew January 2008 (has links)
Thesis (PhD)--Macquarie University, Division of Information and Communication Sciences, Computing Department, 2008. / Bibliography: p. 503-514. / This study investigated learning design in a web-conferencing environment based on three semesters of lessons conducted as part of an introductory programming subject. As well as characterizing the nature of discourse and interaction, the study focused on how the design of the interface, activity and task type affected collaboration and learning. Engeström's (1987) Activity Theory based upon a socio-constructivist view of learning was used to frame the analysis. --Interface designs incorporated theory relating to graphical user interface design, multimedia learning, and findings from the cognitive sciences. Activity designs were differentiated based on the degree of student ownership, from teacher-centred (transmissive) approaches, to teacher-led (guided interaction) approaches, to student-centred (collaborative group-work) designs. Types of tasks were considered on the basis of their level of knowledge (declarative, procedural and conceptual), their character (authenticity, situatedness) and their domain specific nature (in the field of computer science education). The effects of the different interface, activity and task designs on collaboration and mental model formation were explored. --A mixed method approach to analysis was adopted, incorporating a design-based research study and a multimodal discourse analysis. The design-based research allowed a broader, more interpretivistic and process focused analysis to be conducted, based on the strategic redesigns that occurred between iterations of the subject. The multimodal discourse analysis enabled more detailed, objective and outcomes based measurements of the subject of discourse, the nature of interactions and the types of modalities used to mediate learning. Triangulating data from the design-based research study and the multimodal discourse analysis provided a more complete description of phenomena and promoted greater reliability. --Results include the way in which different modalities afforded different possibilities for representing, and how combinations of those modalities could be effectively integrated by applying multimedia learning principles. Student-centred learning designs increased student involvement, allowing them to take greater ownership over the content and to more fully share their mental models. Authentic, meaningful problem solving tasks promoted greater student engagement. The capacity to dynamically redesign the interface based on the collaborative and cognitive requirements of the learning episode supported more effective implementation of conversational (Laurillard, 2002) approaches to learning. --More effective interaction and collaboration resulted from prescribing patterns of engagement, managing activity and technology so that student discourse could focus on content, and providing guidance regarding semiotic representational forms so that students could concentrate on applying those representations rather than inventing them. Teacher and student virtual classroom competencies critically influenced collaboration and learning. --Based on the findings in this study, a framework of nine pedagogical patterns for teaching and learning in web-conferencing environments is proposed. The framework provides an integrated approach to learning design that relates the interface design with the activity design and the level of knowledge (task type). / Mode of access: World Wide Web. / vii, 514 p. ill.

Faria, Eustáquio São José de 13 August 2010 (has links)
The Teaching and learning computer-programming process as been the target of scientific research since the early days of computing. Although several strategies have been and are still being tested, its application in computer-based courses has been difficult, since it requires some commitment from educators to search, study and evaluate them. Although not looking for a miraculous cure for all problems in this area (reported in the literature), and believing in the pedagogical potential of the socio-cognitive conflict theory, it has been decided to develop a teaching method of programming based on Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives to be applied using the pair-programming technique. This method is being used to produce a book of Algorithms and Programming Techniques intending to be acknowledged by the Academy. Experiments with such method has been carried out at a private University and there has been a significant increase of motivation by the students that underwent the experiments.
