Tal exposição se dá tanto pelo lado da vida das pessoas que se fazem religiosas ao entrarem em uma determinada congregação, quanto pelo lado das instituições religiosas que as acolhem, partindo do encontro de projetos de vida traçados por indivíduos e ordens religiosas. Estes projetos de vida religiosa, os quais se fundem em um único projeto comunitário, se estabelecem a partir da abertura de ambas as partes em serem recíprocos mutuamente, permitindo o arranjo e rearranjo para a construção de um projeto comum a todos os envolvidos, ao longo da efemeridade da vida das pessoas e a quase perenidade das instituições. Como marco temporal do estudo, estabeleceu-se o Concílio Vaticano II (1962-1965) até o presente momento. Contudo, para maior clareza, fez-se uma pequena regressão temporal até o Concílio Vaticano I (1869-1870) e os episódios eclesiais e seculares mais significativos do período, pano de fundo sobre o qual se construiu o Vaticano II e a vida religiosa consagrada posterior, com suas transformações significativas: términos, abandonos, novas ordens, reformas, diminuição no número dos religiosos e etc. / This study sets forth the condition as it is constituted, at the contemporary times, one of the states of the Catholic Christian life: the consecrated religious life. Such exposure happens both from the side of people who become religious people by taking part of a specific congregation and the side of the religous institutions that receive them, starting from the combination of life projects traced by individuals and religious orders. These religious life projects, the ones that merge into an only community project, take root from the openness of both parts in being mutually reciprocal, making possible the arrengement and rearrengement to the construction of a common project to all the people involved, along the people’s lives ephemerality and the institution continuity. As a time frame for the study, it was established the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) untill this point in time. However, for greater clarity, it was taken a slight return in time until the First Vatican Council (1869-1870) and the the most meaningful ecclesiastic and secular happenings of the period, which were the background where the Second Vatican Council was created as well as the posterior consecrated religious life, with its meaningful changings: endings, abandonments, new orders, reformations, the decrease of the number of religious people, etc. / Este estudio expone la condición en que se encuentra, en la actualidad, uno de los estados de la vida católica cristiana: la vida religiosa consagrada. Dicha exposición se lleva a cabo tanto en las vidas de las personas que se hacen religiosas cuando entran en una congregación en particular, y por el lado de las instituiciones religiosas que les acogen, a partir del encuentro de los proyectos de vida descritos por los indivíduos y las órdenes religiosas. Estos proyectos de la vida religiosa, que se funden en un solo proyecto de la comunidad, se establecen a partir de la apertura de ambas partes mutuamente recíproca, lo que permite la disposición y reordenamiento para la construcción de un proyecto común para todos los involucrados, a lo largo la fugacidad de la vida de las personas y casi la continuidad de las instituciones. Cómo marco temporal del estudio, se estableció el Concilio Vaticano II (1962-1965) hasta la fecha. Sin embargo, para mayor claridad, había una pequeña regresión temporal con el Concilio Vaticano I (1869-1870) y episódios eclesiales y seculares más importantes de la Iglesia de la época, el fondo sobre el que se construyó el Concilio Vaticano II y la vida consagrada religiosa más tarde, con sus transformaciones significativas: las terminaciones, abandonos, los nuevos órdenes, reformas, disminución del número de religiosos y etc.

El proceso del duelo por la pérdida de vida consagrada en mujeres que fueron religiosas / The process of grief for the loss of consecrated life in women who were religious

El objetivo de este estudio fue describir la experiencia de duelo por la pérdida de la vida consagrada relatada por mujeres que pertenecieron a comunidades religiosas. Para tal fin, se realizó un estudio de tipo cualitativo de diseño fenomenológico, aplicando la técnica de la entrevista a profundidad. Las participantes fueron 10 mujeres que pertenecieron a una comunidad religiosa, residentes en países de habla hispana y cuyas edades oscilaron entre los 28 y 56 años. Los principales resultados revelan que la mayoría se retiró al encontrarse cercanos los votos perpetuos, ya que significaba un compromiso permanente con Dios. Asimismo, las emociones acontecidas a partir de este suceso variaron de acuerdo con el contexto en el que se produce su salida. Así, se presentó una necesidad de adaptarse a la realidad externa lo cual resultó un conflicto fundamental que la mayoría de las participantes sobrellevaron adecuadamente. A partir de ello, es posible concluir que este proceso se dio de forma natural, al ser una etapa que fue prevista momentos previos a su salida. Esto, permitió una mejor adaptación al mundo exterior y afronte de la pérdida de la vida consagrada. / The aim of this study was to describe the grief experience for the loss of consecrated life in women who belonged to religious communities. For this purpose, a qualitative study of phenomenological design was carried out, applying the in-depth interview technique. The participants were 10 women who belonged to a religious community, residing in Spanish-speaking countries and whose ages ranged between 28 and 56 years. The main results reveal that the majority withdrew when perpetual vows were close, since it signified a permanent commitment to God. Likewise, the emotions that emerged because of this event varied according to the context in which their departure occurs. Thus, there was a need to adapt to external reality, which is a common conflict that most of the participants coped with adequately. From this, it is possible to conclude that this process occurred naturally, as it was a stage that was planned moments before their departure. This allowed a better adaptation to the outside world and facing the loss of consecrated life. / Tesis

[pt] A História da Igreja é marcada por homens e mulheres que assumiram de forma livre os conselhos evangélicos de castidade, pobreza e obediência, denominados, atualmente como vida consagrada. O Concílio Vaticano II, reconhecendo a necessidade de renovação para comunicar-se melhor com o mundo moderno, estabelece diretivas para todos os estados de vida reconhecidos pela Igreja. Para as pessoas consagradas, tais diretivas estão delineadas principalmente no capítulo VI da Constituição Dogmática Lumen Gentium, no decreto Perfectae Caritatis, dedicado aos religiosos, 33 a 35 do decreto Christus Dominus e 18 e 40 do decreto Ad gentes. Os Padres Conciliares procuraram destacar em tais documentos a essência da vida religiosa, mas, devido à má interpretação e recepção das orientações, algumas comunidades religiosas se viram desorientadas quanto a particular identidade e funcionalidade da vida consagrada para a Igreja. Os documentos pós-conciliares de Paulo VI a João Paulo II buscaram combater a hermenêutica da ruptura, focando no aspecto histórico, existencial e prático, principalmente através da Exortação Apostólica Pós-Sinodal Vita Consecrata. Bento XVI, ao adotar a hermenêutica da continuidade, seguindo a linha dos Padres Conciliares e de seus predecessores, trata do tema da vida consagrada em diversas homilias, mensagens e discursos. Através da análise de alguns de seus pronunciamentos, a pesquisa pretende sinalizar os pontos de continuidade e temas relevantes para os consagrados, destacando, desta forma, a sua contribuição para o entendimento e aprofundamento da identidade da vida especialmente consagrada. / [en] The History of the Church is marked by men and women who freely assumed the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience, currently called consecrated life. The Vatican Council II, recognizing the need for renewal in order to better communicate with the modern world, establishes directives for all states of life recognized by the Church. For consecrated persons, such directives are outlined mainly in chapter VI of the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium, in the decree Perfectae Caritatis, dedicated to religious, 33 to 35 of the decree Christus Dominus and 18 and 40 of the decree Ad gentes. The council fathers sought to highlight in these documents the essence of religious life, but, due to the misinterpretation and reception of the guidelines, some religious communities found themselves disoriented as to the particular identity and functionality of the consecrated life for the Church . The post-conciliar documents from Paul VI to John Paul II sought to combat the hermeneutics of rupture, focusing on the historical, existential and practical aspects, mainly through the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Vita Consecrata. Benedict XVI, adopting the hermeneutic of continuity, the line of the council fathers and their predecessors, treats with the theme of consecrated life in several homilies, messages and speeches. Through analysis of some his pronouncements, the research intends to signal the points of continuity and relevant themes for the consecrated, detaching their contribution to understanding and deepening of the identity of the especially consecrated life.

This spirituality is rooted in the life and writings of St Francis and St Clare of Assisi and their experience of the kenotic Christ. The Franciscan charism prevails in the world today as a living response to God’s transforming love which is expressed in a ministry of loving service and solidarity with the poor and marginalised – re-enacting Francis’ radical conversion when he embraced the leper. The Third Order Regular, inspired by Vatican II which called for a return to the charism of religious founders, returned to its roots with the revised Rule of 1982 based on the writings of Francis and Clare and grounded in Sacred Scripture. Yet, many people are struggling to accept one another as members of one ”global village”. The difference in culture, race and ethnicity are creating barriers amongst the various nations. These hurdles prevent many communities from living in peace and harmony. Religious community are also facing similar struggles. The Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (FIC) and other international congregations are called by the Bible and the church to give hope of unity in a diverse cultural context.
