Disertacijos buvo sumodeliuota taikant sisteminę knygos kultūros tyrimo paradigmą. Pirmojoje dalyje sprendžiama regioninės knygos kultūros teorinė problema (apibrėžiamas regionas ir regioninė kultūra, išgryninama regioninės knygos kultūros samprata, apibrėžiama XX a. pirmosios pusės Žemaitijos regiono teritorinė erdvė, nustatomos bendrakultūrinės integracijos sąlygos ir išryškinamas žemaičių regionalistinis kultūrinis sąjūdis). Antrojoje dalyje įvertinama regiono leidybos organizacija, išryškinant leidybos dinamiką, centralizaciją, leidėjų sudėtį ir kontrolę bei iškeliant leidybinės kultūros prioritetus, detaliai nagrinėjamas regiono poligrafijos įmonių tinklo susiformavimas ir funkcionalumas, pogrindinių spaustuvių sudėtis, veiklos apimtys ir tikslai, taip pat analizuojama knygrišystė, kaip spaudos pramonės ir amatininkystės dalis. Trečiojoje dalyje analizuojamas knygų visetas pagal autorių teritorinę kilmę taip pat atliekant prozopografinę analizę gilinant Lietuvos ir lietuvių autorių kontingento sudėties link. Viseto sandaros analizėje taip pat susitelkiama į kalbinės, teminės ir tipologinės struktūros raidą. Dėsninga, kad regiono bendruomenės dalyvavimas knygos versle buvo adekvačiai proporcingas regioninės kultūros plėtrai, todėl kiekviena leidybinė iniciatyva pirmiausia kėlė regiono kultūrą, o tik vėliau jos brandesnė dalis galėjo turėti įtakos ir lietuvių nacijos poreikių raidai. / Dissertation was modeled using a systematic study of the book culture paradigm. The first part of the book dealt with the regional cultural theoretical problem (defined region and the regional culture, purify the concept of regional book culture, defined the twentieth century. Žemaitijos the first half of the region's territorial space, the conditions laid down general cultural integration and some regional highlights the Samogitian Cultural Movement). The second part assesses the publishing organization in the region, highlighting the dynamics of publishing, centralization and control of content publishers and publishing by bringing the cultural priorities of the depth at the region of the printing company formation and functionality of the network, underground printing houses in the composition, scope of activities and objectives, as well as analyzes of bookbinding, the printing industry parts and crafts. The third section analyzes the books by author Visetas territorial origin as well as the analysis of the deepening prozopografinę Lithuania and Lithuanian contingent link. Visetas structure analysis also focuses on the linguistic, thematic and typological structures. This thesis is under the name of Johan Wolfgang Goethe, Faust and has a theoretical and practical form, whereas is divided into three parts. The theoretical part deals mainly about Faust analysis, Johann Wolfgang Goethe´s work, further author´s life and personality are summarized in general level. The practical part is dedicated to the book design and illustrations for this work. The third didactic part creates on the basis of findings from the theoretical and practical part base for lesson of art education in the framework of the educational expertise.

Submitted Thesis consists of two parts theoretical and practical. The theoretical part aims at the chronological mapping and analyzing of all available Czech editions of Karel Čapek's play R.U.R. from 1920 until 1989. It also deals with design-transformations of Čapek's Robot on the examples of selected theatre plays in Czech lands as well as in foreign countries performances. The Thesis pays attention to stage executions on the basis of period photographs, drawings and reviews. It is created a united survey of this Čapek's play in the Czech lands in the given time period from its origins until its theatre realizations and book publications. The practical part of the Thesis will then extend the historical play book covers given in the theoretical part by creating an original author book based on Čapek's play, which will be the visual interpretation of the text. By that will be produced a continuity between the theoretical and the practical part of the Thesis.

This thesis focuses on the dialogue between two dissimilar forms of art: text and image, criss-crossing within one work of art. The point of interest is the exact moment of their encounter, which opens an interesting intermediary field for the litterateur as well, which I define and explore in the theory chapter. I aim to find possible tools for analysis,examine changes in perception, and the capacity of the semiotic base.

A indústria editorial brasileira está passando por um momento de transformações. A adoção de tecnologias digitais de leitura e de aprendizagem tende a alterar a estrutura e as operações da indústria, que já vem se modificando em função da concentração em determinados subsetores e da entrada de empresas internacionais no Brasil. Mudanças significativas já aconteceram na indústria editorial dos Estados Unidos devido ao crescimento das vendas de e-books, mas não está claro se essas mudanças serão repetidas aqui. Este trabalho busca identificar tendências e incertezas que podem influenciar o desenvolvimento de possíveis futuros e planejar cenários para a indústria editorial brasileira nos próximos 5 anos. Para isso, lança mão do método de planejamento de cenários Lógica Intuitiva – DSI (Schoemaker, 1995), cuja aplicação fez uso de dados coletados através de desk research, observação participativa e da técnica de análise de setores industriais Rede de Valor (Nalebuff & Brandenburger, 1996). Como resultado, são identificadas as tendências e incertezas a serem monitoradas e são descritos dois cenários possíveis para essa indústria. / The Brazilian Book Industry is crossing a time of changes. The adoption of digital reading and learning technologies tends to change the structure of the industry and its operations. The industry is already being modified by concentration and entrance of international players in the Brazilian Market. Significant changes has taken place in the United States Book Industry due to the growth of e-books sales, however it is not clear if they will repeat their role in Brazil. This work aims to identify trends and uncertainties that may influence the development of possible futures and to plan scenarios for the Brazilian Book Industry. To reach these objectives, it uses the method developed by Paul Schoemaker (1995), whose application made use of data collected by desk research, participant observation and industry analysis based on Value Net technique (Nalebuff & Brandenburger, 1996). As results, it identifies trends and uncertainties to monitor and describes two scenarios for this Industry.

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of the book as crucial means of communication of the author (of the artistic and non-artistic) text with the reader. The material object book is examined in detail as a product, goods and object of the aesthetic interest. The work focuses primarily on the following questions: What is happening with the text from the moment of the manuscript submission to the publisher until the moment when is held in reader's hands for the first time? What subjects, institutions or interests are entering (or may enter) the game during the production, distribution and sale of the book and what is their particular role? What is the form and function of graphical and peritextual components of the book? All questions are answered in regard to the current state of Czech literary culture.

This master thesis consists of two main parts: the theoretical and the practical one. The theoretical part is focused mainly on artist book, its history and some authors, who worked in this sphere. It peripheraly deals with invention of paper and paper development history. In the practical part, the motivation sources influencing processing of this topic and technological procedure during artist book production are explained.

This thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and practical one, while themes of both parts are corresponding. Common theme of both parts is an idea of "author´s book". Theoretical part deals with a book and its conception: Language of a book; communication linked to that language; evolution of writing, which is the most used form of fixation of human speech; and future of a book in today´s electronic era. The thesis also deals with mapping of author´s book in the Czech Republic. The practical part is about creation of one's own author´s book - a journal. Its textual part is compiled using digitalization of typescript, which was subsequently edited. Visual part ranges from black-and-white photography to frottage and rollage.

Field Guide is a mixed-media artist book detailing the exploration of a fictitious culture through cartography, narrative, and illustration. It is presented through the lens of an amateur archaeologist, navigating a chain of islands to search for ruins and artifacts. In part, the project is focused on the fantasy of an imagined world. The island chain is a place entirely of my own creation. By creating the viewpoint of an outside explorer, it was possible to navigate through this world. Although I, as the artist, can know everything about this fictitious world, adopting the perspective of someone distanced by time and place allowed for discrepancies, misinterpretation, and the sense of mystery that typically colors interpretations of foreign, ancient cultures. This character is forced to fill in the context for what she is viewing based upon her conjectures, which may or may not reveal the full truth. Overall, perspective on cultures is often shaped by the observations of a few individuals. In the same way, viewers are forced to consider this culture through the lens of one character, without being entirely certain if they are consuming objective truths.
