Algorithmique distribuée pour grands ensembles de robots : centralité, synchronisation et auto-reconfiguration / Distributed algorithms for large-scale robotic ensembles : centrality, synchronization and self-reconfiguration

Naz, André 04 December 2017 (has links)
Technological advances especially in the miniaturization of robotic devices foreshadow the emergence of large-scale ensembles of small-size resource-constrained robots that distributively cooperate to achieve complex tasks (e.g., modular self-reconfigurable robots, swarm robotic systems, distributed microelectromechanical systems, etc.). These ensembles are formed from independent, intelligent and communicating units which act as a whole ensemble. These units cooperatively self-organize themselves to achieve common goals. These systems are tought to be more versatile and more robust than conventional robotic systems while having at the same time a lower cost. These ensembles form complex asynchronous distributed systems in which every unit is an embedded system with its own but limited capabilities. Coordination of such large-scale distributed embedded systems poses significant algorithmic issues and open for new opportunities in distributed algorithms. In my thesis, I defend the idea that distributed algorithmic primitives suitable for the coordination of these ensembles should be both identified and designed. In this work, we focus on a specific class of modular robotics systems, namely large-scale distributed modular robotic ensembles composed of resource-constrained modules that are organized in a lattice structure and which can only communicate with neighboring modules. We identified and implemented three building blocks, namely centrality-based leader election, time synchronization and self-reconfiguration.We propose a collection of distributed algorithms to realize these primitives. We evaluate them using both hardware experiments and simulations on systems ranging from a dozen of modules to more than a dozen of thousands of modules. We show that our algorithms scale well and are suitable for large-scale embedded distributed systems with scarce memory and computing resources.

Úloha MAS Blanský les Netolicko v regionálním rozvoji a její přínos pro zainteresované subjekty / The role of LAG Blanský les Netolicko in regional development and its contribution to stakeholders

PALKOVÁ, Martina January 2017 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis "The role of LAG Blanský les Netolicko in regional development and its contribution to stakeholders" generally was to prove the role of the LAG in regional development, and specifically to evaluate the usefulness and efficiency of activity of this particular LAG. It was based on the analysis of the activities of the local action group Blanský les Netolicko, namely activities consisting in identifying the needs and interests of the whole area, creation of strategic documents, setting goals and with these related measures and challenges involving the selection and implementation of projects, but also in terms of its own activity beyond the Strategic plan "LEADER". The theoretical part focused on the findings of regional development, rural development policy, Strategic plan "LEADER" and also at the concept of a local action group and the possibility of cooperation between municipalities. The following practical part dealt with the characteristics of the local action group Blanský les Netolicko, socio-economic analysis of the area, LAG strategic documents, completed projects and their evaluation in relation to the fulfillment of the Strategic Plan "LEADER", other LAG activities and especially the final evaluation of work efficiency of the LAG Blanský les Netolicko, which was based on current activities of the LAG it was supported by information obtained through a questionnaire survey among mayors of member municipalities.

De Wilzem, Ettiene, 1959- 06 1900 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans, abstract in Afrikaans and English / The development of leadership potential in adolescents cannot be approached in a haphazard manner. It ought to occur on the basis of a dynamic development model within a structured space. Such a model should not only prepare adolescents for their current leadership role, but also, and more particularly, its very nature should be more career-oriented. The question of what model will strive to equip adolescents with greater entrepreneurially-orientated leadership knowledge, therefore justifiably calls for closer investigation. In this study, an attempt has been made to find a suitable model to meet these needs. With this in mind, a study of the literature on the phenomenon of successful leadership was undertaken. Various relevant aspects that incorporate organisationally-structured management, were also examined. This enabled the researcher to develop a practice-oriented model from a study of the literature. In the implementation of the research design, use was made of qualitative research methods and techniques in order to collect and analyse relevant data. The study entailed 'action research' in which two independant groups were involved. For this purpose, the research results of the second cycle were concentrated on in order to reach findings and draw conclusions, and to make recommendations. This research ultimately revealed that adolescents have a deep need for entrepreneurially-oriented leadership development content. Individual participants also derived significant benefits from the implementation of the model. Owing to the success achieved with this research study, the management team of the school involved has decided to establish a full-time entrepreneurship centre for its pupils. This study can therefore be regarded as a contribution towards meeting the need for similar models in South African schools, in a practical and viable way. / Psychology of Education / D. Ed. Mísní akční skupiny v Jižních Čechách - jejich vliv na rozvoj regionu / Local Action Groups in southern Bohemia and their influence on the regional development

SLÍPKOVÁ, Pavla January 2014 (has links)
The topic of the diploma thesis is "Local Action Groups in southern Bohemia and their influence on the regional development". The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate the influence of a chosen Local Action Group (LAG) in the given region of southern Bohemia and to appraise its input from LAG's insiders' points of view. The theoretical part explains basic terms related to Common Agricultural Policy, Rural Development Programme, LEADER method and functioning of a Local Action Group. The applied part is divided into two sections. The first one introduces LAGs in southern Bohemia and their evaluations, including financial contribution to the region. Moreover, detailed characterisation of LAG Třeboňsko was brought forth. The second section focuses on survey among insiders of LAG Třeboňsko and their opinion on its activities in the region. Controlled interviews with the representatives of the LAG were used as a main tool to find out attitude of the LAG's management as well as its members. The interviews were conducted with two groups first within the public sector represented by leaders of individual microregions and second within the private sector represented by the associated entrepreneurs. The function of the LAG was evaluated based on the survey results. Thanks to the interviews with LAG's insiders, it is possible to conclude that LAG Třeboňsko works on a good level and its members percept its influence in the region's development positively and as well-founded.

Hellsing, Edvin, Ragnarsson, Jacob January 2018 (has links)
The aim of the study is to develop knowledge about employees' and leaders' experiences of how the relationship between employees and leaders affect creativity. As a basis for achieving our goal, we have conducted semi-structured interviews with nine people on two advertising agencies. We have interviewed both managers and employees with different positions to get a broad response base. Based on the Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) theoretical framework, we have investigated the relationship between leaders and followers and sought to crystallize key elements of this. We found the concepts Autonomy, Space of action, and roles and role distribution as central aspects. Through these aspects we illustrate the respondents' perceptions of leadership's influence on creativity. The study's results indicate that it is important for managers to provide relevant feedback and to show faith in their employees to promote creativity. In addition, leaders should allow employees to be experts in their field by providing them with a large amount of latitude, within given limits. Both coworkers and leaders also agree that authoritarian leaders have a negative effect on creativity as it leads to reduced latitude for employees. Furthermore, leaders can advantageously emancipate time for creators' main tasks by managing administrative tasks, which can reduce the level of stress. All respondents have consistent experiences that stress inhibits creativity. A co- worker who is responsible for a task is more likely to feel comfortable with the task, which in turn has proved to be important for creativity. This may include emphasize that leaders seek an open working environment where dialogue is premiered. Another important aspect of creativity is the respondent's approach to standardized processes. If employees work is based on a given form, space is not given for innovative ideas, and employees do not get outlet for their creativity.

Konate, Lamine Boubacar 12 December 2016 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to the study of the positive discharge in large air gaps. The initial goal is to develop a model able to determine the voltage U50 and the k-factor, two important factors involved in the design of high voltage structures in complex geometries. To do this, a review of the discharge models available in the literature was done. We chose the circuit model developed by Professor Beroual’s group and applied to the positive discharge and also to the negative discharge. This model is based on an equivalent circuit diagram, his parameters varying with time according to the leader channel characteristics and the geometry of the discharge. The spread of the leader is based on a criterion related to the calculation of the field at its head and where the randomness of the discharge path is taken into account. As most of models found in the literature, this model applies only to the point-plane type interval. Part of this work was to extend the domain of applicability of this model to complex geometries. A detailed study of the rod-rod gap allowed us to validate our model in its ability to simulate an example of complex geometry. Moreover, experimental tests allowed us to compare the value of the U50 voltage determined using our model and the one from experiments for to this rod-rod geometry. The results are in good agreement with a margin of error of less than 5%. Given the good agreement resulting from the confrontation model - laboratory experience and the great similarity, large spark - atmospheric discharge, a positive lightning model was developed. This model allowed us to use for the first time the circuit model to model the lightning attachment process. The results obtained allow to validate the feasibility to find, to the standard methods of protection against lightning, digital alternative based on a simulation of lightning. An estimate of the field radiated by the leader channel was performed. This opens a way for the study of the interaction of these fields radiated with engineering systems.

Gunnarsson Nordin, Anette January 2017 (has links)
For decades, the focal point has been with leadership and what it implies. In recent years, attention has been set upon employeeship. This study aims to contribute to an understanding of how the organization handles employeeship at a call-center. Previous research about employeeship focus on employeeship within various organizations, this study is the first regarding call-centers. Also, previous research has shown a certain confusion about the concept of employeeship amongst coworkers. It is not completely clear what the notion is all about. In this study, previous research about employeeship, call-centers and the work ability of young people is used. The theoretical frame consists of theories as Sense of Coherence and the Wheel of Employeeship. The study was performed at a call-center, using qualitative semi- structured interviews. The result shows that a call-center may have difficulties with the concept of employeeship since the coworkers are restrained in a position where they are not free enough in their profession. However, it is clear that the company in this case focuses on the parts that they have the opportunity to work with in the employeeship to make the coworkers feel good and thrive.

Analýza financování neziskových organizací

Polcarová, Linda January 2008 (has links)
The creation of local inter-sector partnerships (the so called Local Action Groups) of the Czech Republic which are based on the LEADER principle was instigated by the activity of other member states of the EU. Since 2004 European and mainly Czech grant policy has been supporting the possible formation of partnerships among the non-profit, private and public sphere in the Czech Republic and its formalization into organizations with relevant legal personality. After several challenges of the "LEADER ČR" and "LEADER +" programmes in the years 2004 -- 2006, there are about 150 Czech functional LAGs (which are called 'MAS' in Czech) which can participate in the LEADER 2007 -- 2013 programme, i.e. in the last planned European grant programme for LAGs in the Czech Republic. If they do not succeed with their requests in the two planned LEADER challenges, future existence of these unsuccessful organizations will be questionable. The aim of my diploma thesis is to explain the developing situation of LAGs in the Czech Republic, to state the possibilities of operating and drawing the sources for financing the LAGs outside the Programme for Rural Development -- Axis IV. LEADER, and financing from other grant programmes which are available for LAGs. The thesis points out that the management of some LAGs is able to create their own financial and non-financial sources in the organization. In diploma thesis also try to find another financial sources for this well established and good functioning organizations with considering their constitution.

UNIVERZITA KARLOVA FAKULTA HUMANITNÍCH STUDIÍ Studijní program sociální a kulturní ekologie Bc. Vladislav Halaj EVALUATION OF LAG ACTIVITIES IN LOCALITIES WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF SOCIAL EXCLUSION Vedoucí práce: PhDr. Ivan Rynda Diplomová práce Praha 2021 Abstract This diploma thesis deals with measuring the activities of Local Action Groups in the field of social issues. Based on the solution of strategic documents and professional texts and sources offering work, it uses insight into the issue of social exclusion and its individual areas, which are employment, housing, education or indebtedness. It also moves on to the description of strategic materials for the fight against social exclusion, presents the Index of Socially Excluded Localities, which aims to continuously map the endangered locality of social exclusion from ongoing statistical data. It then moves on to the description of considered organizations, ie the Local Action Groups and its tools used in its activities. The last section of the theoretical part of the work deals with community-led development and operational programs. The above research part helps to a thorough understanding of the issue of social exclusion, which is the central theme of the thesis. The empirical part deals with the evaluation of the activities of Local Action Groups in...
