This study investigates the potential of third sectors micro and small organizations to become social business, understood here as one that is commitment to the socio-environmental mission and constantly seeks its financial sustainability. Through empirical research, using grounded theory, a framework was constructed to identify the potentialities and opportunities of thirty-two third sectors organizations. It was possible to conclude that there is potential for transformation of these organizations into social business given their commitment to the socioenvironmental mission and the impacted stakeholders and given the business mechanisms that are beginning to be adopted. However, the leader´s profile of these organizations does not show the characteristics of traditional enterprises, it represents a challenge for a transition. This work generates insights for organizations that act on social responsibility or social innovation and seek in partnerships to reduce risks and seize opportunities.

Social Business Intelligence: a Literature Review and Research Agenda

Dinter, Barbara, Lorenz, Anja 14 February 2013 (has links) (PDF)
The domains of Business Intelligence (BI) and social media have meanwhile become significant research fields. While BI aims at supporting an organization’s decisions by providing relevant analytical data, social media is an emerging source of personal and individual knowledge, opinion, and attitudes of stakeholders. For a while, a convergence of the two domains can be observed in real-world implementations and research, resulting in concepts like social BI. Many research questions still remain open – or even worse – are not yet formulated. Therefore, the paper aims at articulating a research agenda for social BI. By means of a literature review we systematically explored previous work and developed a framework. It contrasts social media characteristics with BI design areas and is used to derive the social BI research agenda. Our results show that the integration of social media (data) into a BI system has impact on almost all BI design objects.

Spolky jako sociální podniky: Úloha vnořených sociálních podniků ve financování spolků / Associations as Social Enterprises: The characteristics of the Embedded Social Enterprises in the Czech Republic

Klimtová, Amal January 2022 (has links)
Associations as social economy enterprises are the main focus of this thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the area of social economy and social entrepreneurship, both worldwide and in the context of the Czech Republic. The Czech legal framework for the area of social economy and its associations, as well as local specifics are also described. The discussion follows the principles delineated by Kim Alter. In the empirical part of the thesis, nine case studies of Czech associations - social economy enterprises are analysed with the use of publicly accessible documents. Using these case studies, the analysis shows how each case fulfils the principles of social economy enterprise. The author uses Alter's typology to ascertain, what type of social economy enterprise each of the cases represent: an embedded, integrated or external social enterprise.
