Integrationof international management should be seen as an opportunity, from which ispossible to extract knowledge and financial benefits. This final thesis is focused on one aspect ofinternational trade, the integration of the company to EU. In the first part ofthis work there is an examination of business conditions in EU, entry barriersand new strategies for the enterprises in the international market. In thesecond part there is an analysis of Ukrainian company EkoThermoGroup, whichwould like to enter into the market of Czech Republic. This work should be guidance for young companies thatwant to start international business in the EU market.

The value of the firm is determined by method of discounted cash flows, as a complemetary method is used the method of discounted economic value.

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the readiness of the enterprise Mlékárna Hlinsko s.r.o. for a merger, in terms of its financial health. Mlékárna Hlinsko s.r.o. was chosen because of her outstanding ability to deal with fluctuating market trends of dairy products in recent years. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first part is devoted to the overview of the companies' scope of business, profile and history, as well as its organizational structure. Another section focuses on the specific application of the financial analysis of Mlékárna Hlinsko s.r.o. In the strategic analysis, we define the macro and micro environment that is common for the dairy sector; we processed Porter, SWOT analysis and the analysis of competitiveness. Subsequent part contains the financial plan and mainly focuses on determining of the value generators. It was based on forecasted sales through defining the relevant market. Consequently, we evaluated the company using the accounting method and the two-phase model; we also compared the results of methods. In the final section, we summarized the results of the analysis and specified the conditions under which the merger has been happening. Finally, we can conclude that the company has become a suitable object for a merger with strategic partner. It has been able to cope with negative impacts of the crisis, achieved good economic results, maintain liquidity and fulfill all obligations.

[pt] O mercado brasileiro de produção de petróleo e gás offshore tem se desenvolvido significativamente nos últimos anos, alavancado pela alta mundial do preço do petróleo e pelo incentivo do Governo ao alcance da auto-suficiência na produção de petróleo. As maiores e mais promissoras reservas brasileiras de petróleo e gás estão localizadas no mar, em águas cada vez mais profundas. Novas tecnologias são necessárias para viabilizar a extração do petróleo destes campos. Oito anos após a abertura do setor de produção e exploração, novas operadoras começam a fazer grandes investimentos no país. Neste ambiente, as empresas fornecedoras de produtos e serviços têm grandes oportunidades de crescer seus negócios, porém também têm grandes desafios relacionados à capacitação do corpo técnico e ampliação da capacidade produtiva. Este trabalho tem como objetivo auxiliar a FMC Technologies, umas das empresas fornecedoras de produtos de tecnologia, na avaliação da adequação de sua estratégia no Brasil e propor mudanças, com o objetivo de criar vantagens competitivas sustentáveis de longo prazo. A investigação foi desenvolvida usando a metodologia de estudo de caso. Coletados por meio de investigação documental/ telematizada, questionário predominantemente estruturado e entrevistas. Os dados da pesquisa foram tratados com métodos quantitativos e qualitativos. A interpretação e a análise dos dados foram realizadas com base no referencial teórico, fundamentado em revisão de literatura pertinente à área de estudo, com auxílio do modelo genérico integrativo de Macedo- Soares (2001). Os resultados evidenciaram algumas inconsistências entre os objetivos estratégicos explicitados pela empresa, os fatores organizacionais, os fatores marcoambientais econômicos e os atores estratégicos. Ao mesmo tempo, trouxeram subsídios para identificar quais mudanças seriam necessárias para superar estas inconsistências. / [en] The Brazilian offshore oil and gas market increased significantly in the last years, stimulated by the oil high price and by the government incentive for the country selfsufficiency. The bigger and more promising Brazilian oil and gas reserves were located in deeper waters. New technologies and products are demanded to make feasible oil extraction. After eight years of exploration and production sectors opening, new operators start to make wide investments. Considering this environment, the product and service suppliers have great opportunities to develop their business, but have also big challenges related to the qualification of technical personnel and production expansion. The objective of this study is to support FMC Technologies do Brasil, a technological product supplier, in the evaluation of the adequacy of its strategic in Brazil. It also aims to recommend changes that will improve the fit of the company`s actions with the objectives, creating long term competitive advantages. The investigation was carried out by means of a case study methodology. Data collected through documental/ telematic investigations, mainly structured questionnaires and interviews, were threated with qualitative and quantitative methods. The data interpretation and analysis were conducted based on the theoretical references from the literature review, with the support of the systemic and integrative model developed by Macedo-Soares (2001). The results highlight some inconsistencies between the firm s strategy objectives, its organizational factors, the macro-environmental factors and the strategic actors. In addition, the changes required to overcome those inconsistencies were identified.

Local Hospital¡¦s Strategy Management Under National Health Insurance Policy

Since the global budget system carried out by National Health Insurance Bureau in 2003, hospital autonomy management practiced in 2003 as well as reviews carried by specialized doctors system established, local hospitals have faced critical impacts. The fluctuating point reimbursement was applied, it not only restrains the reimbursement received by the hospitals, but also causes management difficulties for local hospital as the fluctuating points shrink year by year. The number of western medical hospitals is decreasing. The number in 2000 was 575, but now only 500 local hospitals operate in Taiwan. For survival, local hospitals have to establish sound financial system in order to deal with changing national health insurance policies. On the other hand, they are encouraged to use strategy management theories to promote the competitiveness for local hospitals to well control their expenditures and create their income. The study has analyzed the statistical data from Statistical Office, Department of Health and National Health Insurance Bureau and integrated related literatures to understand the management strategies and responses of local hospitals under national health insurance policies and the economic, demographic and political environment. Results of the study will be provided for reference. Beside statistic data and literatures, strategy management concepts and theories were also adopted to clarify current policies of health insurance, reimbursement system and the situation of local hospitals to probe into the difficulties and possible solutions. Local hospitals were chosen to be the study subjects, and through SWOT Analysis, Poter¡¦s Five Force Analysis, Blue Sea Strategy and the findings from literature review, we found that (1)the financial gap of health insurance has transferred to medical organizations, especially local hospitals; (2)under global budget system, local hospitals have to increase income and decrease expenditures by transformation, running pay business or joint outpatient service; ¡]3¡^cost management is critical for local hospitals to establish internal strength; (4) referring to blue sea strategy to develop distinguished business and differential products can create niche for local hospitals to break through the bottleneck.

The doctoral thesis is concerned with the issues that are faced when selecting strategic analysis tools to be used in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in the process of strategic management. The paper comprises three parts. The first part presents a discussion on the methodology of strategic analysis and the application of its tools in SME. As a result, the taxonomy of 40 strategic analysis tools applied in business organizations (including SME) was designed. In addition, the „model of strategic tune“, defining the correlation of „a dominating strategy type“, „the size of an enterprise“, and „the nature of strategic analysis“, was formed in this part. The second part describes the methodologies to study the application of strategic analysis tools. In the course of research project, two individual empirical studies were conducted: 1) expert evaluation study of strategic analysis tools, during which the criteria for expert evaluation of 40 strategic analysis tools were prepared; 2) SME owners, executives and specialists‘ testing and survey. The third part of the thesis indicates the results of the study into the application of strategic analysis tools. While combining theoretical and empirical methods and using various classification criteria, four typologies of strategic analysis tools were designed. Išnagrinėta literatūra šia tema, ištirti įmonės išoriniai tiesioginiai ir netiesioginiai veiksniai, įmonės ištekliai. Praplečiant 2004 m. atliktą tyrimą bei norint dar geriau pažinti įmonės klientus, atlikta platesnė bei išsamesnė jų apklausa. Gauti duomenys apdoroti SPSS programa. Atlikta klientų apklausa padėjo nustatyti klientų kontingentą, jų amžių, pajamas, išlaidų paskirstymą. Ištirta, kokios prekės daugiausiai perkamos, kaip klientai vertina įmonę ir jos konkurentus, kokiomis paslaugomis dažniausiai naudojasi, kaip vertina jų kokybę. The analysis of the potentiality expansion of the trading commercial company “Agava“ was carried out in 2004 – 2007. Literature on the given topic was analysed, direct and indirect factors, resources of the company were investigated. In order to extend the accomplished research and to know the company customers better a wider and more detailed survey was organized. The received data were processed with SSPS program.The survey for customers helped to determine the customers‘ contingent, their age, income, expense distribution. It was examined what goods are most popular, how customers evaluate this company and its competitor rivals, which services they usually use, what they think of the company. The influence of external and internal factors was summarized carrying out SSGG analysis. Strategic objective, goals and means were formulated, executives and terms were nominated on the grounds of the research data. Having summarized the research data theoretical and practical conclusions and recommendations were given.

The diploma thesis "Application of the Balanced Scorecard Method within a Chosen Enterprise" deals with the Balanced Scorecard concept from the point of view of its integration in the strategic management of a business establishment. The theoretical-methodological part addresses the topic of business performance strategic management with the use of a Balanced Scorecard method. This part characterises the individual elements of the Balanced Scorecard method, gives reasons for its implementation, outlines the individual perspectives constituting the core framework of this method, describes the proposed implementation of the concept and summarises its limitations and constrictions. The practical part of the diploma thesis applies the findings collected in the theoretical-methodological part to the conditions of the production company Screw & Wire Libčice a.s. As a first step, analyses of the company´s external and internal environments are carried out along with the SWOT analysis. Based on the strategic analysis, the mission, the vision and the strategy of the company are defined. As a next step, the Balanced Scorecard itself is modelled to meet the needs of the particular company. The causal interrelations between the strategic objectives of the individual perspectives are illustrated with the help of a strategy map. Lastly, the diploma thesis comes up with a proposal for the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard concept within the chosen enterprise.
