Este trabalho objetiva, com base nos postulados teórico-metodológicos da Terminologia e da Neologia, apresentar, em amostragem, a terminologia da área do conhecimento e de especialidade da Silvicultura Urbana. O nosso propósito é demonstrar a importância dos estudos neológicos e a abrangência de seus processos, tanto na formação de uma área do conhecimento, como na transferência de informação de uma área de especialidade para um público leigo, proficiente em leitura, que poderá, entre outros fins, gerar subsídios para a elaboração de um dicionário. Para alcançar os nossos objetivos, baseados em corpora da área de Silvicultura Urbana (corpus documental, corpus de referência e corpus de análise), com o uso de softwares, extraímos inicialmente uma amostragem de 100 termos (formação sintagmática) do corpus de análise e, em análise complementar exploratória, identificamos formações produtivas por derivação prefixal e sufixal e algumas formações por siglas e acrônimos. Como estratégia para melhor compreensão da área, desenvolvemos algumas representações gráficas como: a árvore de domínio, os mapas relacionais e os quadros de análise descritiva dos termos de base da área. Constatamos que as unidades lexicais, em função termo ou em função vocábulo, apresentam graus de neologicidade que variam, num contínuo, do mais alto ao mais baixo grau, considerando a comunicação entre especialistas, entre estes e o público leigo, leitor proficiente ou não. Em conclusão, consideramos que a unidade lexical mantem um aspecto neológico permanente que varia de acordo com o tempo e o espaço, em estudos diacrônicos ou sincrônicos, em todos os discursos e seus universos e na relação de produção e recepção do que se pode considerar novo / The objective of this work, based on theoretical and methodological postulates of Terminology and Neology, is to present, in sampling, the terminology of the area of knowledge and specialty of Urban Forestry. Our purpose is to demonstrate the importance of neological studies and the scope of their processes, both in the formation of an area of knowledge, as in the transfer of information from one area of specialty to a lay audience, proficient in reading, which may, among other purposes, generate support for the preparation of a dictionary. To achieve our objectives, based on corpora from the area of Urban Forestry (documentary corpus, reference corpus and analysis corpus), with the use of software, we selected a sampling of 100 terms, which we have expanded by exploratory additional analysis to identify some productive formations by prefixal and suffixal derivation and some formations by acronyms and abbreviations. As a strategy for understanding the area, we developed illustrative graphical representations: the domain tree, some relational maps and descriptive analysis frameworks of the area. We observed that the lexical units, in the function of term or in the function of word, have degrees of neologicity in a continuous, from the highest to the lowest degree, considering the communication between experts, between them and the lay audience, whether it consists of proficient readers or not. We then consider that a lexical unit maintains a permanent neological aspect which varies according to time and space, in diachronic and synchronic studies, in every speech and their universes and in the relation of production and reception of what can be considered new

Orientador: Diva Cardoso de Camargo / Banca: Francis Henrik Aubert / Banca: Adriane Orenha Ottaiano / Resumo: Com o propósito de investigar os comportamentos linguístico-tradutório e social de dois tradutores diante dos obstáculos impostos pelos limites culturais na Tradução, analisamos um corpus paralelo da subárea de especialidade da Antropologia da Civilização, composto pelas obras O processo civilizatório: etapas da evolução sociocultural (1968) e O povo brasileiro: a formação e o sentido do Brasil (1995), de autoria do antropólogo Darcy Ribeiro e pelas respectivas traduções para a língua inglesa, realizadas por Betty J. Meggers e Gregory Rabassa.Também nos valemos de dois corpora comparáveis de Antropologia em português e em inglês, e de um corpus de apoio composto principalmente por dicionários de Ciências Sociais e Antropologia. Os principais objetivos que nortearam a presente pesquisa foram: observar a tradução de termos e expressões das obras darcynianas, assim como verificar o processo tradutório concernente aos brasileirismos e neologismos terminológicos elaborados pelo autor; investigar o comportamento linguístico-cultural dos tradutores, por meio da análise das opções por eles utilizadas nas traduções e dos traços de simplificação e explicitação nos textos traduzidos; e elaborar dois glossários bilíngues para a terminologia antropológica. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Intending to investigate the social and translational linguistic behaviors of two translators in face of obstacles imposed by cultural barriers in translation, we analyzed a parallel corpus of Social Anthropology of Civilization sub-area, composed by the works, O processo civilizatório (1968) e O povo brasileiro (1995), written by the anthropologist Darcy Ribeiro, as well as by their translations into English, performed by Betty J. Meggers and Gregory Rabassa, respectively. We also used two comparable corpora of Anthropology in Portuguese and in English, and a support corpus composed mainly of dictionaries of Social Sciences and Anthropology. The main objectives that guided this research were: to observe the translation of terms and expressions in Darcy Ribeiro's works, to analyze the translational process concerning to the terminological Brazilianisms and neologisms produced by the author; to investigate the translators' linguistic and cultural behavior through the analysis of resources used by them in their translations; to identify simplification and explicitation features in the two translated texts; and to elaborate two bilingual glossaries for anthropological terminology. Resumo: Apresenta estudo teórico e metodológico da Linguagem documentária e de sua interface com a terminologia. Explicita as etapas necessárias para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa terminológica temática. Considera a aplicabilidade da metodologia de protocolo verbal "pensar alto" como instrumento, que pode ser usado no processo de confirmação de termos de uma área especializada. Considera para esse estudo o levantamento de termos, diretamente, coletados na teoria científica e técnica. Utiliza para o trabalho terminológico os textos científicos e técnicos que tratam do subdomínio: Processo de inteligência competitiva,, publicados em artigos de periódicos e de eventos entre os anos de 1999 e 2002. Formula, por meio de estudo de caso com três sujeitos: o indexador de um sistema de informação, o pesquisador e o profissional do subdomínio, uma proposta de metodologia para a construção de linguagem documentária, no que tange aos processos de identificação e confirmação de termos, que atue como instrumento de mediação entre o sistema de informação e o usuário. / Abstract: It presents a theoretical and methodological study on documentary language and its interface with terminology. Exposes the stages that are necessary for developing a thematic terminological research. It considers the applicability of the verbal protocol"think aloud" methodology as instrument that can be used in the prodess of confirmationof terms of a specialized area. This study considered terms collected directly in the scientific and technicalliterature. The terminological work used scientific and technical texts (papers) on the sub domain of competitive intelligence process, published in journals and proceedings among the years of 1999-2002. A Dissertação tem por objetivo analisar a maneira como os estrangeirismos, elementos exteriores ao léxico vernacular, são apresentados na língua portuguesa, na área específica da Economia. Em uma primeira parte do trabalho, desenvolvemos considerações de ordem teórica, referente à terminologia e à metalingugem. Tomando por objetivo da análise os termos constantes da Base de Termos da Economia, constituída no âmbito do Projeto Observatório de Neologismos do Português Brasileiro Contemporâneo (projeto TermNeo), verificamos que, estatisticamente, cerca de 8,4% dos termos se constituem em estrangeirismos Os estrangeirismos coletados foram posteriormente classificados de acordo com a tipologia de sua apresentação. Por meio de análise dos contextos em que ocorreram, os respectivos estrangeirismos foram classificados em duzentos e vinte e nove tipos de apresentação diferentes e, a seguir, agrupados em nove categorias. Procedemos à análise de algumas formas de apresentação, procurando distinguir as formas que implicavam a utilização de recursos gráficos ou de língua-objeto, bem como os de metaliguagem. Ao final, foram feitas considerações sobre a questão da metalinguagem. / The objective of the dissertation was to analyse how terms brought in from other languages are presented in Portuguese, specifically, in the area of Economics. In the first part of the dissertation we presented theoretical considerations on terminology and metalanguage. The terms analyzed were those included in the Base de Termos da Economia [Base of Economic Terms] drawn up as part of the project known as Observatório de Neologismos do Português Brasileiro Contemporâneo (Projeto TermNeo). We found that, statistically, approximately 8.4% of the entries consisted of foreign terms. The terms collected were later classified according to the typology of their presentation. Based on an analysis of the contexts where they occurred, the terms were classified into two hundred and twenty-nine different types of presentation and then grouped into nine categories. Several of the forms of presentation were analyzed in an attempt to distinguish those that imply the use of graphic resources or object-language, as well as those of metalanguage. At the end considerations were presented on the question of metalanguage.

Investiga a interface teórico-prática entre terminologia, ontologia filosófica, ontologia computacional e linguística documentária e os subsídios que oferecem para a construção de informações documentárias. Foram estabelecidos como objetivos específicos, a análise das condições de produção, desenvolvimento, implementação, uso e integração de ontologias com base no referencial teórico da ciência da informação; a investigação sobre a contribuição das ontologias para o desenvolvimento de tesauros e vice-versa; a discussão acerca do fundamento filosófico da aplicação de ontologias com base no estudo das categorias ontológicas presentes na filosofia clássica e nas propostas contemporâneas. Defende que a compreensão das ontologias por meio da teoria comunicativa da terminologia colabora para a organização de um acesso menos quantitativo (sintático) e mais qualitativo (semântico) à informação. Observa que, conquanto compartilhem alguns objetivos comuns, ainda há pouco diálogo entre a ciência da informação (e, no seu interior, a linguística documentária) e a ciência da computação. Defende que as ontologias concretas e as ontologias filosóficas não são eventos completamente independentes que guardam entre si apenas a similaridade de denominação e constata que a discussão sobre categorias e categorização na ciência da computação, nem sempre possui a ênfase que recebe na ciência da informação no âmbito dos estudos sobre representação do conhecimento. A abordagem do rizoma, de Deleuze e Guattari, foi tratada como provocadora de reflexões sobre a validade do modelo hierárquico arborescente e sobre as possibilidades de sua ampliação. Conclui que a construção de ontologias não pode prescindir do tratamento terminológico-conceitual, como compreendido pela terminologia e pela ciência da informação, acumulado nos referenciais teóricos e nas metodologias para construção de linguagens documentárias e que, por outro lado, a construção de linguagens documentárias mais flexíveis não pode ignorar o modelo de representação das ontologias, com mais predisposição para a formalização e para a interoperabilidade. / Investigates theoretical and practical interfaces between terminology, philosophical ontology, computational ontology and documentary linguistics and the subsidies that they offer for the construction of documentary information. It was established as specific objectives, the analysis of the production, development, implementation and use of ontologies based on the information science theories, the research on the contribution of ontologies for the development of thesauri and vice versa and the discussion of the philosophical foundation of the application of ontologies based on the study of ontological categories present in classical philosophy and in the contemporary proposals. It argues that the understanding of ontologies through the communicative theory of terminology contributes to the organization of a less quantitative access (syntactic) and more qualitative (semantic) of information. Notes that, in spite of sharing some common goals, there is little dialogue between the information science (and, inside it, the documentary linguistics) and computer science. It argues that the computational and philosophical ontologies are not completely independent events, which have among themselves only the similarity of name, and notes that the discussion of categories and categorization in computer science, does not always have the emphasis it receives in information science in studies on knowledge representation. The approach of Deleuze and Guattari\'s rhizome, was treated as instigator of reflections on the validity of the hierarchical tree model structure and the possibilities of its expansion. It concludes that the construction of ontologies can not ignore the terminological and conceptual analysis, as it\'s understood by the terminology and by the information science accumulated in the theoretical and methodological basis for the construction of indexing languages and, on the other hand, the construction of flexible indexing languages can not ignore the representational model of ontologies which are more capable for formalization and interoperability.

Programa Institucional de CapacitaÃao Docente e TÃcnica / CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / O presente trabalho traz um levantamento dos termos usados por indivÃduos que desenvolvem atividades relacionadas à IndÃstria do sal e tem como proposta a elaboraÃÃo de um glossÃrio dos termos desse domÃnio. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida nas localidades de MossorÃ, Areia Branca e Grossos, municÃpios que fazem parte da regiÃo salineira do Rio Grande do Norte. Portanto, o nosso objeto de estudo sÃo os termos da indÃstria e da cultura do sal, tanto na modalidade escrita, como tambÃm na modalidade oral, levando em consideraÃÃo a possibilidade da variaÃÃo terminolÃgica. O trabalho consta, primeiramente, do levantamento histÃrico e institucional da indÃstria do Sal, bem como de todo o processo de sua produÃÃo. Neste trabalho, sÃo apresentadas as diferentes ciÃncias do LÃxico e seus respectivos enfoques teÃricos, mas a Ãnfase maior à dada nas orientaÃÃes teÃrico-metodolÃgicas da Socioterminologia, pois esta à a abordagem adotada por nÃs neste trabalho. AlÃm disso, esta obra se justifica tambÃm por possibilitar a divulgaÃÃo de um produto terminogrÃfico destinado, nÃo sà aos especialistas da Ãrea em questÃo e aos das CiÃncias do LÃxico e pesquisadores afins, como tambÃm ao grande pÃblico e aos interessados em aprofundar seus estudos na terminologia do sal. / The research hereafter presents a study on words used by individuals that work with activities related to salt industry and has the proposal of elaborating a glossary on the terms in that domain. The investigation has been developed in locations such as MossorÃ, Areia Branca and Grossos, cities that make part of Rio Grande do Norte salty region. Our work aims at studying industry terms and salty culture, in written and oral modality, considering the possibility of terminological variation. The work consists, primarily, of a salty industry historical institutional investigation as well as of the entire production process. In this work, different lexical sciences are introduced and their respective theoretical approaches, but the main emphasis is put on Socioterminology theory and its methodological guidelines, considering its importance for this research. After that, the methodological procedures for the socioterminological research are exposed and distributed in two phases: field research and glossary organizational methodology. In sequence, the Glossary of Salty Terminology (GLOSSAL) is presented, composed of 325 terms alphabetically organized, with a systematical remissive index, distributed in four conceptual fields: manufacturing, beneficiatement, trading, utilization and consumption. This corpus investigation is justified by the absence of written works organized and systemized in the salty technological area in the specified cities. This work also contributes to provide the divulgation of a terminographical product destined, not only to specialists in the area and to Lexical Science researchers, but to the public interested in improving their knowledge in salty terminology.

Apresentação do campo da Organização da Informação e do Conhecimento com o subsídio das disciplinas da Terminologia e da Linguística Aplicada com o intuito de aprofundar os fundamentos da pesquisa terminológica para fins documentários. Com isso, foi possível justificar a eficiência da articulação entre os termos nos tesauros, para permitir melhor acesso aos documentos artísticos dos museus. Assim, o problema de pesquisa pauta-se nas possibilidades informacionais alternativas em relação ao cerceamento representativo dos tesauros. Expõe-se a hipótese de que a expansão das relações terminológicas nos tesauros possibilitaria a integração social do museu por meio da confluência entre o Ciclo da Informação e a Espiral da Cultura Científica, denominada Espiral da Informação. Trata-se de uma pesquisa hipotético-dedutiva que combina indução e dedução, fato que permite a mobilidade essencial do pensamento, de modo que de um contexto específico é retirado o problema de pesquisa e, a ele, formulada uma possível solução que será comprovada ou refutada ao longo do desenvolvimento investigativo. Propostas de aperfeiçoamento são realizadas, a fim de evidenciar a importância da Organização da Informação e do Conhecimento para a comunicação e a geração de conhecimento no âmbito museológico. A interpretação subjetiva do indivíduo no museu deve ser respeitada, proporcionando maiores possibilidades de recuperação informacional, a partir da representação adequada de documentos. / Introducing the field of Information and Knowledge Organization with the subsidy disciplines of Terminology and Applied Linguistics in order to deepen the foundations of terminology research for documentary. Thus, it was possible to justify the efficiency of the relationship between the terms in the thesaurus, to allow better access to the documents of art museums. Thus, the research problem is guided in informational alternative possibilities in relation to the restriction of the representative thesauri. Exposes the hypothesis that the expansion of terminological relations of thesaurus enable the social integration of the museum through the confluence of the Information Cycle and the Spiral of Scientific Culture, called Spiral of Information. This is a hypothetical-deductive research that combines induction and deduction, a fact that allows the essential mobility of thought, so that a specific context is removed and the research problem, it formulated a possible solution that is proven or refuted over investigative development. Proposed improvements are made in order to highlight the importance of the Information and Knowledge Organization for communication and knowledge generation within museum. The subjective interpretation of the individual must be respected in the museum, providing greater possibilities for informational recovery from the proper representation of documents.

Procura-se identificar, a partir do processo de documentação museográfica de uma coleção têxtil, mecanismos metodológicos da Ciência da Informação que auxiliem o trabalho de documentação, organização e disponibilização da informação em museus. Analisa-se a história das áreas, suas especificidades, seus princípios e metodologias de forma a identificar a possibilidade de suas interfaces prováveis. Dentre os vários aspectos da documentação museográfica, destacam-se as contribuições da Linguística Documentária em sua interface com a Terminologia, no que diz respeito à circunscrição dos termos que servem à denominação das peças analisadas. / The aim is try to identify methodological mechanisms of The Science of Information to assist the documentation, organization and provision of information job in museums, through the museographic process of documentation of collection textiles. It was analyzed the history of the areas, its specificities, principles and methodology to identify the possibility of its possible interfaces. Within some aspects of museographic documentation highlight the contributions of Linguistics Documentary in its interface with the Terminology with respect to the circumscription of terms that serve to name the parts analyzed.
