This thesis deals with the difficulties of adults with dyslexia. Not enough attention is being paid to this issue in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of this thesis characterizes dyslexia and summarizes possible difficulties of adults with dyslexia on the basis of both Czech and foreign information sources. The empirical part of this thesis describes the research, whose main goal is to chart (especially cognitive) difficulties, which are related to common everyday activities. Another area monitored in this thesis is self-efficacy of adults with dyslexia in their everyday life. Data are compared with intact counterparts. The research group consists of 120 respondents, including 60 adults with dyslexia and 60 adults without dyslexia (66 women and 54 men). The intact counterparts were matched with adults with dyslexia based on the same gender, year of birth and highest education received. The whole set of used methods concluded the anamnestic part and three self-evaluation questionnaires - the Cognitive Failures Questionnaire, the Dyslexic difficulties questionnaire (created for the purpose of this thesis) and the General Self-Efficacy scale. This thesis investigates the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in 15 post- Soviet states with a primary focus on Ukraine over the time period 1991-2013. First, panel unit root tests are applied to the time series for energy use and GDP for each post-Soviet country, then cointegration tests are run to identify the relationship between the variables. The empirical strategy of the panel data analysis is based on a neoclassical growth model specification, which includes the gross capital formation and total labor force of each country as additional explanatory variables for economic growth, along with energy inefficiency, % fossil fuel use, liberalization of the energy sector, and several other variables. The dataset is analyzed using Pooled OLS, Fixed Effects and Random Effects models, with Fixed Effects being identified as the optimal estimator. The results of the analysis show that there is a positive, bidirectional causality relationship between economic growth and energy consumption for Ukraine (the "Feedback Hypothesis"). Aquired brain injury (ABI) of various etiology is one of the major causes of health impairment, disability and death in adult population. It has a wide scale of physical, psychological and social consequences impacting the lives of patients and their relatives. Neuropsychological rehabilitation (individual and group) has become an integrated part of the complex rehabilitation of ABI supported by evidence-based research and practice. Theory and research suggest new perspective on psychotherapy and its role in this process, though its use in the Czech republic may be limited. The goal of the theoretical part of this thesis was to explore the status of the knowledge and practice of neuropsychological rehabilitation of ABI with focus on group work and psychotherapy and their effectiveness. The empirical part aimed to analyze effectiveness of short-term group dynamic psychotherapy in sample of patients with ABI. The intervention was applied in a realistic setting of two selected rehabilitation centers. The patients completed European Brain Injury Questionnaire for Patients (EBIQ-P) and Zung's Self-rating Depression Scale pre-, after 6 weeks and post- intervention covering researched symptoms. The aim of the thesis is to determine why there are set wrong conditions of public expenditure programs to improve energy efficiency in the Czech Republic. The thesis analyzes conditions of funding and planning of specific projects funded by the Operational Environment program. The main criterion for evaluating projects is the consideration of energy efficiency. Methodologically, the research is based on an analysis of secondary data and the concept of cost-effectiveness. Based on the analysis, recommendations are made for changes in processes and parameterization of public expenditure programs in order to take account of higher energy efficiency criteria in the design and selection of supported projects, and thus be the energy efficiency target for 2020 by 20% could be achieved.

This thesis deals with valveless reciprocating pumps. Within the thesis several designs of pump geometry are demonstrated. Their parameters were obtained using computational fluid dynamics. Reciprocating piston movement was simulated by time dependent inlet boundary condition or by dynamic mesh. The individual variants were compared mainly from point of view of volumetric efficiency, which was the main evaluated parameter. Results of calculations are presented as dependencies of volumetric efficiency on frequency and amplitude of piston motion and on value of backpressure. Two variants of the prototype pump geometry were manufactured to experimentally validate parameters obtained from calculations. Volumetric efficiency together with hydraulic efficiency were evaluated from measured data.

This thesis deals with the characterization and preparation of catanionic vesicular systems and their interaction with water-insoluble vitamins. Catanionic vesicles systems was prepared from two differently charged sufractants CTAB and SDS in formation ion pair amphiphile. Stability of vesicles was secured by adding cholesterol with positively charged surfactant DODAC. Were selected vitamin A and vitamin E for solubilization into these vesicles. The next part of this work was focused on determining the efficiency of incorporation these vitamins into the HTMA-DS vesicular system. The characterization of these systems was improved by measurement on a UV-VIS spectrometer, DLS and by HPLC with UV-VIS detector. During measurement by UV-VIS and HPLC the efficiency of solubilization of vitamin A and vitamin E into vesicles was determinated. In both cases higher efficiency was determinated for vesicles with incorporated vitamin A. Higher efficiency for both vitamins was determinated by HPLC. The reason is probably the higher sensitivity of the metod, work in labs with dark glass and preparing individuals samples into vials, which were inserted into the device for individual dosing by injector. The work serves primary evaluation results in view of the vesicular system for use in pharmaceutical application like carrier non-polar vitamins.

Metoda pro simulaci energetické náročnosti výrobních strojů v etapě vývoje / Method for Energy Efficience Simulation of Machine Tools in Design StageTůma, Jiří January 2017 (has links)
Ph.D. thesis is focused on the design of the method for simulation of energy demands of machine tool in operation at the stage of its development. Proposed method is developer on the basis of literature search in science and in industry. The method itself is composed of five related steps, that must be realised in the proper order in order to create a relevant energy profile of a machine tool. The output from the method are simulated data providing a course of comsumed energy and required power which are time dependent. Output data are obtained on the basis of the drive system simulation of machine tool through G-code, that is interpreted for simulation by the compiler into the matrix. It contains data necessary for controlling of machine tool, such as the required end points of the tool and required feed rates, to which is assigned a time value. G-code is partially time parametrized. It is then followed by full time parametrization through a of mathematical model of drive mechanisms and due the synergy of software for drive mechanisms control (Matlab Simulink) and software for physical simulation (MSC Adams) is processed into output data. As an input parameter figures also coefficient used as multiplier of the normal force of driving mechanisms, which is a function of feed rate. This loss function is obtained experimantally. In the context of Ph.D. thesis were conducted two experiments, used to verify the developed method. For each experiment is proceeded according to estabilished method and it is included a comparsion of simulation and measured data for various operating modes. The proposed method, described in the Ph.D. thesis, allows designers to summarize the energy demand of the proposed machine before its production. When correctly interpreted, the results of the method can serve as a basis for improving the energy profile and thereby increasing the energy efficiency of the machine tool.

For loading of excavator drive units, it is necessary to use electromechanical loads with a high torque up to 16,000 Nm in a low speed range from 0 to 150 min-1 with a maximum output of 50 kW. The electromechanical load consists of an asynchronous dynamometer assembly with a tilting torque measurement system in conjunction with a front three-speed gearbox. The dynamometer is powered by a converter with vector control. To determine the torque at the gearbox output, a correction must be made and the influence of operating temperature and operating speed must be taken into account. Experimental measurement of these influences and dependencies makes it possible to create a mathematical model that can be implemented in the power converter for torque control at the output of the gearbox. The aim of the master thesis is a brief design of the loading drive, design an implementation of experimental measurement of efficiency maps and evaluation of the influence of inefficiency of gearbox efficiency.
