This diploma thesis formulates recommendations for managerial decision making while acquiring new vessels. It analyses by means of a quantitative research the possible fuel cost savings achievable by running IFO and LNG powered vessels, their benefits and drawbacks in terms of economical, environmental and sociolog-ical aspects. Subsequently, Payback Periods and IRR of aforementioned fuel types are calculated and questionnaire data gathered. Hypotheses for the questionnaire research are statistically tested and reveal a relation between customers attitudes to shipping companies and their willingness to pay more for the same service with better CSR strategy. The quantitative research shows LNG as the best fuel option for shipping companies, offering benefits in all three pillars of CSR.

Regulace environmentálních dopadů dopravy pomocí alternativních daňových nástrojů

Kolouchová, Hana January 2019 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the regulation of environmental impacts of road transport using tax tools alternative to road tax. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the tax tools suitable for greening the vehicle fleet and answer the question whether these instruments are more focused on the fleet renewal by vehicles pro-ducing lower emissions or using alternative fuels. Another objective is to formulate conclusions as to whether alternative tax instruments serve as a supplement or replacement for environmental road tax. The result of the work was that use of alternative tax instruments is more related to the use of the alternative road tax and the states are mostly putting pressure on the use of alternative fuel vehicles.

Analýza regionální dimenze dotačních titulů do environmentální sféry v programovém období 2004-2006 / Analysis of the Regional Dimension of the Subsidy Programmes to Environmental Sphere during the 2004-2006 Programming Period

Zavřel, Leoš January 2010 (has links)
In this paper, regional allocation of capital expenditure in environmental sphere from the European cohesion policy is analysed. The analysis was performed for the projects financed during 2004-2006 programming period. Based on the comparison of estimated and actual intensities of support (proportion of the total allocation of 22 billion CZK), it was found that the relatively highest intensities of support were allocated to the regions with the medium-quality environment (Liberec region, Central Bohemia, Central and South Moravia), while the relatively lowest intensities of support were allocated to the regions with the lowest- or low-quality environment (Moravian-Silesian region, Ústí nad Labem region, Karlovy Vary region). The analogous conclusions resulted from an analysis of the relative positions of selected types of regions in the overall allocation of capital expenditure, because the metropolitan regions, national parks and protected landscape areas obtained relatively higher intensities of support and, vice versa, the structurally and environmentally affected regions obtained lower intensities of support. The findings of our research allow to conclude that the regional distribution of capital expenditure from public sources was in a contradiction with the strategic objectives of both the...
