Body-Mind Centering® e o sentido do movimento em (des)equilíbrio = princípios e técnicas elementares, na criação em dança, pela póestica nas linhas dançantes de Paul Klee / Body-Mind Centering® and the sense of motion in (un)balance : elementary principles and techniques, in dance creation, by poetics in the dancing lines of Paul Klee

Abstract: This research aims, through the movement principles of the Body-Mind Centering® (BMC) method developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, at studying the Vestibular System and its connections with body balance. It researches its possible contributions regarding the motor development and its qualitative implications in gestures and actions towards acting and creation in performing arts. Since body balance is due to the interaction of three systems: somatosensory, visual and vestibular, the Body-Mind Centering® method is realized as relevant in this study, as its principles provide an anatomic experience of different body systems, favoring the recognition of the vestibular system action in motion. This leads to understanding how we wisely cover the senses in the body, and how these senses relate to perception and motion development. This research is intended to be able to elucidate how BMC can interfere in learning the way the actions are coded allowing one to also realize that new ways to co-emerge in the movements enables and supports the creative system, since in dance, the artist counts on the proper body to develop his or her interpretation and creation work. This creation process must count, by the artist, on an attitude based on his/her body's balance perception, on his/her choices and on the inherent qualities of balance/unbalance restructuring in motion and choreographic design. The application of this research has been achieved in the three-way interlacement, which we consider essential: practical laboratories (specific experience of theory by means of BMC Method), of creation (development of a choreography) and by studying painter Paul Klee's work, which has contributed as a poetic/imagetic foundation to the choreographic process.

No capítulo final, fez-se convergir temas como alegoria, filologia, leitura, fetiche e dialética / Abstract: The object of this thesis is the presentation of dialectics in Walter Benjamin, which requires the comprehension of philological reading. In order to expose that notion, we have proceeded to the analysis of Benjamin's most important works, such as Origin of German Baroque Drama, the essays on Baudelaire and The Arcades Project. In the chapters where these works are analysed, we tried to make clear the way Walter Benjamin exhibits the main elements of the works he chooses to read, and that with this procedure he presents thir kernel. In the final chapter, we have made converge themes like allegory, philology, reading, fetish and dialectics / Doutorado / Doutor em Filosofia

The Natalia's death : the potentiality of a brazilian literacy document for a political education of the senses in current days

This work has the search on the topic of death in contemporary, focussing different images, especially literary, from the historical and educational perspectives. The theme choice is justified by the limited attention that the death has received from university works, in historiographic and education fields, due to the modern capitalist advancement, which contributes to the weakening of the theme. The work consists mainly, based on dialogue with the theoretical benchmarks of Walter Benjamin and Norbert Elias, given that both have productions concerning the cultural history. Among the issues, was the meaning of death in contemporary and her concealing, causing isolation in the dying and suffering people. The narrative resumption with the old people, sick and dying memories are identified as valuable element on this life time, when many of them feel that do not have meaning for the others. The school can also get benefits from the narrative resumption, and the limits awareness that the death imposes to us, prompting the actors of that space to position and to act at this time. The text reviewed for this analysis was ¿A morte de Natália¿, by Silvio Fiorani; this analysis was based on theoretical and methodological contributions of philosophers above. The comic character of the Fiorani work allows, among other issues, touch on the death subject in a light way, which goes against the way how the death is understood by the people in current days / Mestrado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Mestre em Educação

Uma questão autobiográfica : o sujeito nos escritos confessionais de Walter Benjamin / An Autobiographic question : the subject on Walter Benjamin s Confessional writing

Loterio, Guaraciara R., 1983- 22 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador: Márcio Orlando Seligmann Silva / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-22T18:20:08Z (GMT). Tal recorte foi feito tomando por base o realizado por Gerhard Richter em seu artigo "Acts of Self-Portraiture: Benjamin's Confessional and Literary Writings", publicado pela primeira vez em 2004 no The Cambridge Companion to Walter Benjamin1 / Abstract: The original intention of this research was to examine how the subject constitutes itself through the confessional writings of Walter Benjamin, taking into consideration the movements and possible changes that would be essential to it. Therefore, I wanted to take into account the peculiar way in which Benjamin constitutes it as a subject into these narratives, i.e., rupturing the idea of linearity and transparency of it. Thus, the author appears to enable the development of competence in a read image and a representation of the subject within his 'self writing'. This reading aims to deal with the constant transformations - which sometimes even expresses contradictions - suffered by Benjamin's subject over the texts. At the beginning, I staged the hypothesis that the term "confessional" and the term "autobiographical" were synonymous. Thus, the question of Benjamin's "confessional writing" became merged with the matter of autobiography in his works. Later, as a paradigm regarding the working process, I realized that Benjamin's 'self writing' and its subject merge confessional and testimonial moments, presenting what I think it is a new bias into the autobiographical writing. I propose to develop this work from the following works of Walter Benjamin: Berlin Childhood around 1900 (Berliner Kindheit one Neunzehnhundert); Berliner's Chronicle (Berliner Chronik) and Moscow's Diary (Moskauer Tagebuch). This selection was done by taking the base held by Gerhard Richter in his article "Acts of Self-Portraiture: Benjamin's Confessional and Literary Writings", first published in 2004 in The Cambridge Companion to Walter Benjamin.2 / Mestrado / Teoria e Critica Literaria / Mestra em Teoria e História Literária

'n Funksionele model vir kulturelekonteksaanpassing in literêre vertaling

Ferreira, Stefanus Cornelius 10 September 2012 (has links)

Towards a Levinasian aesthetic : the tension between implication and transcendence in selected fiction by J.M. Coetzee.

Marais, Michael John 22 August 2012 (has links)
D.Litt. et Phil. / This study explores the tension between politics and ethics in selected novels by J.M Coetzee. It contends that, in this writer's fiction, ethics is conceived of in Levinasian terms as a relation of responsibility for the other which is grounded in an acknowledgement of the other's radical difference to the same. The thesis examines Coetzee's self-reflexive investigation of the problem for novelistic representation posed by this conception of ethics. In order to contextualise this examination, the first chapter of the study establishes that the form and medium of the novel install a relation of correlation between same and other, and that the novel-as-genre therefore routinely forecloses on, rather than maintains a relation of difference to, alterity. Chapter One also traces the various strategies through which Coetzee's novels attempt not only to prevent the medium and form of the novel-as-genre from reducing the other to an object and thereby violating it, but also to impart a sense of that which inevitably exceeds, and so transcends, this genre's representational protocols. By means of such strategies of excession, the study contends, Coetzee's texts endeavour to inscribe a responsible relation to the other. The four remaining chapters of the thesis trace Coetzee's installation of strategies of excession, and therefore of an ethical aesthetic, in Dusklands, Life and Times of Michael K, Foe, Age of Iron and The Master of Petersburg. They also consider these novels' self-conscious articulation of the ethical implications of such strategies. Chapter Four and Chapter Five pay special attention to the inscription in Coetzee's later fiction of a debate on the possible effect on the reader of the individual text's ethical relation to the other. In this regard, the thesis argues that the ultimate purpose of Coetzee's attempt to respond responsibly to alterity in his writing is to enable the other to approach the reader in the course of the literary encounter. It thereby demonstrates that Coetzee's concern with ethics is deeply political: in attempting to contrive an ethical relation between the reader and the other, the individual text seeks to secure a mediation of the political by the ethical.

Olsson, Erik January 2018 (has links)
This essay aims at investigating the housing conditions for workers in mechanical workshops in Stockholm during the early postwar period of 1946. These conditions are measured by spaciousness and by the sanitary levels, according to appurtenant theory. Lacking a census regarding the target population the essay uses data from a 1946 survey about housing conditions for 266 working class families, where the familiy man was employed in a mechanical workshop, in Stockholm during 1946. This data, of spaciousness and sanitary levels, is thereupon used as a representation for the target population, since the average income per year is found to be equal between the two populations. This representatation rests on the hypothesis of income per year as an important factor for a person’s housing condition.
